Pez Espada

Great location right on the beachfront. Room was a good size with great air con. Beds not very comfortable. Shower was very good and clean towels every day. Room kept very clean. Had a lovely cake and bubbly for my birthday. Breakfast good but all indoors no outside eating area. Good choice of food but always a queue for any type of eggs as they are cooked while you wait. The fresh cakes daily were delicious. Drinks a reasonable price. A good stay and would stay here again.

We didn't realize San Juan day was in our week, we payed over 2 grand to be put in the worst room needing a lot of renovation fitted out for disabled guests, which we are not, the safe wasn't attached the the wall, water taps were rusty , bed was uncomfortable and the sliding door to the balcony so stiff to open, we asked for a better room as we payed for a superior room and were told there were no other rooms, come back tomorrow reception told us, we didn't unpack, we went back and were given a key card, checked out the room, it was only slightly better but right above the entertainment stage, then at 2am all the lights in the room flashed on, we called reception, they give us another key card the 3rd room was again above and to the rear of the stage looking down on an ugly roof, the next day both key cards stopped working and we couldn't get in our third room, we went back to reception and a nicer receptionist looked more concerned than the other 2 ,she wrote everything down and immediately gave us the room we should have had, we booked months before and witnessed people paying cash for probably what was supposed to be our room, so at last on the 4th day we could unpack our bags, we went half board but after seeing what the classed as 4star we ate out, but each day we would check out the buffet, I took many photos of the rooms and the atrocious food, the beds were all hard and the sunbed area , instead of putting the sprinklers on in the evening for the grass and bushes, they put them on in the morning so you had to walk around the mud puddles and use your towels to wipe the water off before you could Sit down, the hotel USED to be much better last time we had stayed there, now I would say it's 3 star at best, in 35 years I have never had such a bad holiday as this stay at the Pez, the proof of how bad the place was I have in photos and the memory of the holiday will put me off ever returning to mainland Spain.
