Parasol Garden

This hotel was such a dissapointment that i felt i neaded to write this review to help anyone thinking of going there to make the right descision. The reception staff were great and so we got off to a good start but, sadly , that feeling didnt last long. On arrival in our room we found the toilet seat leaning up against the wall so we started our holiday off by having to wait for the maintenance man to come and fix it. there are no tea or coffee facilities in the room and, unlike most other hotels, there wasnt even any water left in the room. The pool area had stacked sun loungers so you had to help yorself to a bed and then go and find a matress which is not when you are our age. The pool area was described as "lush grass" where it was actually very muddy so getting on and off your sunbed was a messy job and your towel got covered with it. the cleanliness of our room was not at all good. the bin wasnt empied every day ,the beds were just straightened not remade and the bathroom mirror wasnt cleaned once during our stay. If all you want to do is sit and eat and drink then this is the hotel for you but we most definately wont be staying here again.

Firstly, let me say this hotel isn’t the worst out there but it’s absolutely not even close to a 4 star hotel

We arrived and the lobby has no easily accessible toilets. They are around the back and down the stairs and the smell of them was absolutely rancid!! Lobby was clean enough. We have our 2 sons one of which is a baby. No baby changing available, even in the downstairs toilets.

The room was absolutely stunning. Spacious. We had a family gold comfort room.

Housekeeping was terrible. Clean towels daily yes but bed sheets never changed once! Very noticeable marks on the white bed linen. Bedsheets bound to get dirty with a baby. The housekeepers were never around when you left for breakfast but always away by time you got back! Floors never swept properly. Cleanliness could absolutely be better. And when speaking to reception about it, was told it would be passed on to change the sheets. Never done

The pool area was fine. Could do with some TLC but enough space and loungers. Plenty tables and chairs if you can’t get a lounger. Kids enjoyed being in the pool. Saw it cleaned every morning by maintenance. Only complaint was that it was never open when it was meant to be in the morning and always closed early at night.

Pool bar. Never open on time. Always closed early. Same with snack bar. The hotel as whole didn’t seem to be in any sort of rush to open but quick enough to close up and leave. Lights all turned off by midnight if not earlier. No warning. Nothing. Guess this was them closing the terrace area but would’ve been nice to be told or warned

Ok I’ve moaned enough let me tell you about the staff. Specifically the restaurant staff and 2 female receptionists. Absolutely angels. I asked them to explain the icons displayed on the food for allergies. My youngest has many allergies and it was so I knew what was safe and what to avoid. They done me one better!! Noted down every allergy and said so not ever take anything from the buffet. They were worried about cross contamination if the spoons got mixed up or used wrongly. They made him fresh food every single meal. Honestly the care they took was second to none.

Honestly, the hotel was fine. It was nice enough and the kids enjoyed it. Was right in the beach and easy enough walk to the shops. 10 minutes in a taxi to the centre.

This is just our experience so please don’t let the negative things we experienced put you off. Try the hotel for yourself. You may have a different experience than we did!
