Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

We booked a pool view room and I emailed the hotel a week before departure to request a sunny balcony if possible. We received exactly what we requested, block 3 floor 5, we had sun all day until sunset, many thanks 🙏. Rooms are ok, TV swivels so you can watch from the balcony and easy to input your firestick. Kitchen basic, no oven, microwave bowls, freezer space, coffee machine or mugs (only cups for hot drinks) Tea towel, dishcloth and very small washing up liquid is provided. Shower is a bit strange, instead of a turn dial it’s a lever you pull towards you, needless to say as you move you knock it and turn the shower off. Pool very nice, water warm and endless amounts of sunbeds available at anytime. Pool opens at 10.30 and closes 18.30. Pool bar expensive but you have a massive shopping centre opposite with a Carrefore and you can purchase drinks nibbles and a cooler bag over there and nobody bats an eyelid to consuming your own by the pool. Table tennis is €5 for an hour or like we did take your own bats and ball. Reception staff are really friendly and particular mention to Pablo (Barca fan) and Christophe (PSG fan). Location is quite a distance from the centre, marina and fish alley (an hour walk) although we like walking so it suited us. We always walked along the river and then crossed the suspension bridge to the promenade. One night we experienced a wild boar with 6 babies following it, apparently it’s not uncommon, just don’t go near it. All in we had a great holiday and would definitely return to Fuengirola although we may try another establishment but it was a good 3 stars from me. ✔️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just back from 8 nights at ilunion Mirimar hotel was nice and clean, staff attentive and with a massive pool and plenty sunloungers no problems with overcrowding. Unfortunately on our second day the poolside bar (Aquabar) was suddenly closed meaning to get a drink you had to use the indoor restaurant, which only had a small terrace which was often full. The Aquabar had a really nice sitting area with shade and open space. Don’t be put off staying here due to the location there is a very regular bus service (no1) which runs into Fuengirola centre in 10-15 minutes €1.20 per person. Also the massive shopping centre and a large Lidl stare 5 mins walk away. We will definitely return to this hotel
We had a wonderful holiday, the rooms were so clean, the pool area also. The bar was great, Andreas was so efficient, friendly and helpful again this year.
Nice welcome to the hotel. The rooms are very spacious, good condition and kept clean throughout our stay. There was always sunbeds available at the pool. The location is away from the beaches but there are bus stops outside. There is a big supermarket in the shopping centre across the road. The only negative was a cleaning staff member who was quite pushy about us leaving the room at the end of our stay even before check out time. When we did leave, my son had left a toy in the room so we went back and she acted very annoyed by this and even rolled her eyes at me which shocked me because it was such a strange reaction and not at the level of the politeness and friendliness of all the other staff.
What a superb hotel. It’s a lovely 20/25 minute stroll to the main beach front along lovely clean residential side streets lined with orange trees and cafes along the way, or about 9 euro in a Bolt or Uber.
The hotel exceeded expectations. It’s classed as 3 star, although I would say deserves a 4. Rooms are very clean and spacious, beds comfy and staff all very helpful.
It’s a 5 star rating for me based upon the price we paid versus our overall experience. Another major locaton plus is a huge shopping centre (including hyper market) less than a 5 min walk away.
Hotel facilities also really good. My daughter is now booking to come with her 2 young children and my in laws are booking for next month. It’s ideal for young families and those looking for a quiet relaxing break
