The Hotel El Pilar Andalucia located at the Plaza las Flores in Estepona, opens its doors with luxury 4 star facilites, services and a careful Andalusian design. Framed by two majestic towers, the facade of El Pilar Andalucia is also notable for its grandiose marble dome, topped with the figure os the archangel Gabriel, making it yet another monument to view and visit.
The famous Rada beach is just a 2-minute walk away, so the location is perfect to combine relaxation with gastronomic and tourist leisure: visits, shopping, culture . . . Everything you are looking for your getaway.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Hotel was top quality in a perfect location. Very clean, I think the staff spent more time in our room than we did. Bed extremely comfortable, smart toilet, british channels on tv, nespresso machine, slippers, dressing gown, hairdryer and room safe all included. Close to restaurants, close to beach about 1-2 minute walk where you can enjoy sunbeds and sun cover at beach bars for 10 euros each. Gibraltar only a 5 euro bus ride away, marbella about the same. The thing that spoilt our holiday was the transfer by TUI. I had read a review on Trip advisor that they drop you off some way from hotel, so at the air port I checked with the transpot co-ordinator if the coach would drop us directly at the hotel, she said "of course". The coach dropped us at a building site close to town hall some way from hotel and we were told to walk with our luggage. The coach driver pointed in a general direction and left. So in 30 degree heat and with 2 x 20kg luggage plus hand luggage we set of on a 20 minute struggle, some uphill, some down flights of stairs, with no directions we had to ask directions on the way.
Tui reply to complaint is: For shared transfers, drop-off and pick-up points are sometimes determined by access restrictions for larger vehicles, which can mean the coach is unable to stop directly outside certain hotels. I appreciate this wasn’t what you were expecting, particularly as you were advised otherwise at the airport, and I will ensure your feedback is noted. As we weren’t advised of any mobility or medical requirements at the time of booking, we’re unable to retrospectively amend the transfer type or request a different pick-up point for your return journey. This means it is most likely that your return pick-up will be from the same location where you were dropped off.
If Tui had told us they were dropping us off miles from hotel we would have advised them of medical conditions. so be warned.
This hotel is excellent. We stayed last night as it was our wedding anniversary and the hotel couldn’t have done more for us. Staff at check in were great, the room overlooking the square was immaculate and the roof top bar is a must. We also ate at Makako and that was also 10/10. Stay here if you are in Estepona old town, you won’t be disappointed.
Very nice property in the heart of Estepona. The rooms are very clean and the hotel is well maintained. The location is amazing, staff is very knowledgeable amd friendly. They have a very nice roof top bar and two restaurants. The beach is in easy walking distance and the hotel provides beach towels. Parking is in walking distance and the hotel has a preferred rate. We'll come back.
This is our third stay at this hotel. The location is excellent overlooking a pretty square. It is just a couple of minutes walk to the beach and the paseo maritimo, and the chiringuitas must be tried. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a room overlooking the square which was quite spacious. Breakfast is a delight and can be taken outside which is lovely in the warm weather. A very good choice of food, beautifully presented. Recommended.
Amazing hotel, restaurants and roof bar. Staff couldn’t do enough and is located in such a relaxed setting. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.
