Mac Puerto Marina Benalmadena

Have just returned from two weeks at the Hotel Mac and had a fantastic time. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Vosymar and Monica. As we came in on an early flight our room was not ready but we were seated in the reception lounge and offered cava or orange juice and when the room was ready Vosymar personally took our cases to our room and made sure we were OK. The staff at this hotel are exceptional. Omar, Isobelle, Gabrielle and Raphael were very attentive. Big shout out to Carolina at the breakfast chef station. Despite the heat she was always cheerful and cooked me a fantastic "tortilla con jamon and queso" every morning. Adrian at the pool bar was every bit as efficient and by day three he had my "cafe con leche y dos cortados" started before I had stepped up to the counter and ensured they were delivered to our sunbeds. Talking of which we had no problem getting sunbeds. It was only guests who had hit the town hard the night before and came down after 12 that struggled but the soccoristas did their best to find them vacant beds. I have seen some negative comments about the food which I really don’t understand. The choice was always varied and of good quality. Veal , Pork Chicken, Turkey, Ribs, Prawns , Pizzas , a variety of cheeses and a comprehensive salad bar. Fresh fruit, a massive assortment of deserts and a choice of Ice creams every night. In my experience "En Espana es cortes de hablar Espanol" and as soon as you try the staff become people and not just waiters. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. We had one slight problem with the drainage on our shower which flooded the bathroom one evening. I reported it to reception at 7pm on my way down to dinner and upon returning just after 8pm found that maintenance had already been in and sorted the problem. You would be hard pressed to find that sort of service in a UK hotel. Hats off to the management for building such a good staff. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We have just got home from our 4th annual trip to Benalmadena, all staying at this hotel. We always book the pool access rooms so our balcony goes directly out onto the pool area with our own sunbeds but there is never the “fighting for beds” you see at other hotels. I don’t think I have ever seen someone unable to get a bed, regardless of the time of day. The poolside cafe bar is fabulous and food is always lovely and fresh. We only stay bed and breakfast so can’t comment on lunch/dinner but the food for breakfast is always lovely. They do fresh omelettes as per request and the rest of the food is so tasty. So much choice too! Definitely something for everyone. The hotel and surroundings is always spotless. It is a stones throw to the beach and the marina too! I will definitely be returning again next year. It is my favourite destination!

Our 2nd stay at this hotel. Went with my elderly mother. We put in a request regarding the room and this was met in every way. The staff in every part of the hotel are exceptional. The entertainment was mostly great. The breakfast is exceptional. We had evening meal at the hotel, we found the fish sometimes was undercooked for our liking but we always found something to eat. An improvement in the restaurant is the removal of the two sittings. A great addition is the pool entertainment of the violinist and the saxophone player. As a returning guest we had delivered to our room a selection of small cakes which was a lovely gesture and was really appreciated. I used the spa most days and had a lovely relaxing massage near the end of my holiday. A lovely time was had by us both and we will be back next year for our 3rd visit.
