As soon as we arrived we noticed how rude the reception staff were. They never acknowledged us, in fact every time we went to the desk was the same, they just kept chatting to each other. The animation team were the same, although they did do some pool exercises nobody ever came over to us or even smiled as they were passing. The room was clean although very tired looking and the cleaners were always pleasant. But the pool area wasn’t cleaned at all. I pulled a plaster from the pool and put it on the slide and it was still there 4 days later and there was green moss around the showers. The food was ok most of the time apart from one day when I had some ham and it was slimy and smelled off. We were pretty shocked that we had to pay for drinks with our evening meal, even water. It could have been a whole lot better with better staff. It costs nothing to be polite.
Rooms weren’t swept on arrival so floors were dusty I don’t think they were mopped the whole time we were there glasses were never replaced with clean ones either and we had to ask for towels to be changed. The maid came in one day and it seems she had spilt a bucket of water only mattress and tried to cover it up with the bedding so I had to have it replaced. No aircon or water fountain in the gym The ladies toilets next to the gym out of three of them only one locked properly. The food was quite good always fresh and something to find but if you wanted fresh hot food there was only one person on show cooking and the queue was always so long. Sometimes we waited ages to get served for a drink but the locals always seemed to be served quickly. Drinks are reasonably priced and the do a cocktail of the day for €6 we was never told about the drinks upgrade and not offered it at all which was disappointing. Nor was it advertised around the hotel that I could see. The pool area, although hosed down wasn’t swept so all the hosing down did was move the dirt around Also the lovely new infinity pool was €20/30 per day and the Bali beds which sat mostly empty every day were extra to use also. We asked for a quiet room but was put along the same side as the evening entertainment I would return but maybe outside of the Spanish holiday season for better service
We had a lovely girly few days away, hotel was clean and we were lucky enough to get a beautiful Seaview and updated rooms. Rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and bathroom was great. We went bed and breakfast and breakfast was lovely with lots of options, pool bar didn't open till 10.30, snacks and drinks were good prices and tasty. Would def return. The older lifeguard was a naggy rude man but everything else was perfect .
Hotel pictures need updating to give a true reflection, what you don’t see is the dumping ground for building waste to the side of the pool area. As for the star rating it’s a three at best and I’m being generous. I appreciate that there has been some modernisation carried out. Location is good. Rooms have the smallest wardrobes in-the world, but you do get access to a free safe for valuables. Have to admit the beds for me were excellent,I’ve always had issues with holiday hotel beds. Cleaning staff do a good job. We had paid extra for a better room but once again we had a lovely view of a builders yard. As for noise the hotel is located on a main road so if you’ve paid for a room upgrade you’ll hear everything from the main road. As for the breakfast it was ground hog day for seven days, no variation whatsoever. As for my room it was cleaned every day and I was happy with that. The hotel staff were very good and dealt with any issues I had in a polite , respectful and professional manner. Atmosphere, there seemed to be plenty of things going on during the day and night, but we took advantage of Benalmadena’s fantastic beaches ,marina restaurants and nightlife.
Lovely hotel, rooms spacious & cleaning done daily. Great location for the beach & not to far too the marina. 2nd year staying with a group if friends & would recommend 👌
