Gran Hotel Bali

This hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel, very outdated & although the ground floor looks impressive from the outside the rest of the hotel definitely doesn’t live up to the description given by TUI. The food is mediocre (although we only had Breakfast), typical of a large hotel trying to feed a large quantity of people cheaply & quickly. The lifts are a joke, unreliable & at times taking 30 minutes to get down to reception, often only 2 or 3 lifts out of 7 working for a building covering 43 floors. The staff are very unhelpful & always make you feel like an inconvenience when you approach them for help. I find it hard to believe that when we went to checkout & said we’d like to checkout the only conversation was ; I just need your room key The left luggage is open We were not asked if we’d had a good stay, for a hospitality venue surely this should be a standard question or are they too scared to receive a negative reply. It’s such a shame as the beach area is lovely & although it’s quite away from Benidorm it was just the right area for us to stay in & it was easy to travel by public transport into the centre. Our flights were with Ryanair & I cannot fault them on the service they provided nor can I fault TUI for the ease of booking & keeping up to date with my booking. I just wish they would re evaluate the Gran Hotel Bali Benidorm so that others do not pay for what is clearly not 4 star

I most of the time end up booking very late, leading to almost no choice in flights & places to stay. Ended up going to Benidorm for first time ever. And I was pleasantly surprised, the city has a vacation atmosphere, people in good mood, never boring, and the friendly lady at checkin gave me a room almost halfway, up on the 22nd floor, with stunning sea view! Entering room I felt like watching out on the beaches of Rio de Janiero. So it was already a real daily pleasure just waking up and also coming back at night with that view. Had included breakfast for a change, but for me not really worth it, since prefer local and healthy food. 2 floors of huge breakfast areas, but the was the fried eggs, bacon, white beans in tomato sauce, white ham & cheese toast, style breakfast. Hotel has many things to do , but I was always out from after breakfast to after midnight, exploring Costa Blanco, so cannot give much info on hotel, but had many shops in lobby, also a nice place with music and opportujitynto dance for people. I can imagine you stay there also having so many things nearby. Good thing, every day I started with walking down 22 floors to breakfast, then up again 22nd floors after breakfast , then down again to start rest of my day exploring Costa Blanca coast. In evening I took the elevator though sometimes, once took the panoramic elevator, on outside facade of hotel, it gave a jolt around 21st floor, scaring the “sh😜t” out of me 😅😅 Never took it again afterwards
