The Views Baia did not disappoint! We had a suite on the tenth floor and the team here could not do enough for you! Everything was spotless they go above and beyond and the facilities were great! I also love the procedure they have around cleaning; if you don’t feel you need the room cleaned (you’d need to decide this on your first day) you can get €3 back per day to discount your drinks or take off your final bill - id never come across this before and thought it was a great initiative! There is also a Spa with some great facilities guests can use or there is the option to book treatments! The food was lovely; lots of choice! Would definitely recommend if you find yourself in Madeira
Really pleased we chose The Views Baia. We stayed in a standard mountain view room on the 6th floor, which was quiet, clean, spacious and had a fabulous view from the bay window seating area inside the room (there was also a small balcony).
The location was good - around 10 mins walk to town, although slightly longer to get back due to the steep hill (although the hotel provides a free shuttle bus and taxis are easy to find if you can't face the climb)!
The hotel staff were all friendly and very courteous, and the facilities were excellent (especially the pool and pool bar with stunning view over Funchal bay). We also liked that the hotel is adults only - the communal areas were very calm and peaceful.
The highlight of our stay was the food - there was loads of choice at breakfast, the buffet was continually topped up, and the serving times should suit most schedules (7.30-10.30am). We only had dinner one night (33 eur each if you don't pay upfront) but it was also excellent - buffet style again with lots of choice and absolutely delicious!
Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. We loved our 10 day stay! The pool was 10/10 and breakfast was grand!
The food was excellent. Very nice and helpful staff. Room service was excellent. The location is a bit off if you want to be close to restaurants and swimming in the ocean
I have nothing but praise for this hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left we were amazed at how good this hotel is. The room was spacious and very clean, no views of the sea or the mountains but it really didn’t matter! The towels were changed daily and the bed made up (very comfortable bed it was too) The buffet food served at breakfast and dinner was delicious, varied and often replenished and never cold. The service staff were engaging, smiling and very welcoming. There were 4 of us and they reserved a table we liked for the views over the sea, for us every evening. The evening entertainment was superb and more professional than we were expecting. In particular we loved a trio with a saxophonist who played and sang Summertime so well it moved me to tears. Bravo! The pool area was spotless with quality sun loungers and umbrellas. No loud music was played and the grill area was just beside it and was very handy for leaving the sun beds for a delicious lunch and cooling drink, I recommend the hamburger and fries! The servers here were also friendly, engaging and fun. We were very lucky to visit in June which meant we could watch the Atlantic Festival fireworks from the sun deck with a free glass of champagne to add to the enjoyment of such a fabulous display. The receptionists went out of their way to help with any queries or problems. Parking was never a problem and the road to and from the hotel wasn’t as steep as expected. On our last night we had to leave the hotel at 3.55am. We were offered breakfast from 2.30am which we accepted and just the 4 of us were able to enjoy the cold buffet (plus toast) at such an early hour. We all agreed that Madeira is wonderful and returning to The Views Bahia each evening after a day of exploring in our hire car, was a joy to look forward to. Thanks for the memories and we will definitely come back to stay in this lovely hotel (5* in my opinion!)
