Excellent hotel - we will return.
We were recommended to stay in this hotel by a friend and it was an excellent recommendation. We had a seaview room which also looked across the gardens and the Rose Garden restaurant. All the staff were pleasant and the hotel was extremely clean. The food in the restaurants - Rose Garden, Blue Lagoon and Avista was excellent. We were too busy sightseeing on our first trip to Madeira to use the pool but it looked inviting on a hot day.
The hotel is a little outside the town of Funchal but it is about a 30 minute walk through a park to the centre (and longer back as it is up quite a steep hill!) There is a bus stop near the hotel but we walked. There were many regular guests staying at the hotel.
We definitely hope to return to Madeira and will definitely stay here again - we have travelled extensively and stayed in many hotels and this hotel is in our top 3.
You will not be disappointed if you book this hotel.

Another Fabulous Stay at the Cliff Bay
We’ve been coming to this hotel annually for 25 years and we love it as much now as we did the first time we came. A home from home for us. Excellent staff, beautiful pool areas, plenty of sunbeds, spacious, well-equipped rooms, good food, varied breakfast options. We’ve already booked for next year!

Another super stay...
Another lovely holiday in Funchal, made more so by the great hotel and facilities of the Cliff Bay. Our second stay in two years and certainly not our last. A great place to be...
A great Hotel
Fantastic Hotel but it cannot rest on its laurels. I have visited this hotel on many occasions but for the first time I had concerns I have relayed these concerns to the hotel and now look forward to seeing changes on my next visit.
