Another lovely holiday at the Porto Mare
We have stayed at this hotel on several occasion. Always found it to be a nice friendly experience. Staff good and helpful. Good pool area and very well kept gardens.

A piece of heaven
We have just checked into this hotel after spending nights at another so-called 4-star hotel, but this one is the real deal!
Everything here is beautiful and relaxing, and the staff are genuinely engaged, kind, and service-minded.

A very friendly hotel
We had a wonderful stay at Porto Mare. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful. The waiters at Portofino were great and made "happy hour" very enjoyable. One chef at the Italian Buffet in Atlantida offered to make a tomato sauce for me without onions as I can't eat onions. The duty manager was very attentive and good fun. Our room was large, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The food throughout the hotel was very good quality; although, the portions were on the large side. Staff seemed used to accommodating the smaller appetite with two plates for one order, which suited us well. If we go back to Madeira, we would definitely stay there again.

Lovely hotel, great location.
Just back from a wonderful week at the Porto Mare hotel on the outskirts of Funchal. We had a lovely, large room with a sea view. Reception staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choice. There was only one (very slow) toaster, though....but lots of different bread to try if you didn't want to wait for toast. As expected, drinks were quite pricey compared with local bars, so we did take advantage of happy hour a couple of times!
Porto Mare is a lovely hotel and one we would return to without hesitation.
