Gardens are beautiful, but food could be better (but it’s not bad).
Nice hotell, beautifull garden, really nice gardens, spescial thank to Italien boss with red tie 😍, and Hassan our main waiter . Food was nice, its clean, central. All over nivmce
Hassan and Italian headwaotet 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
This hotel REALLY needs updating as it does NOT live up to a 4 star hotel. Don’t get me wrong the outside garden and swimming pools are kept clean and tidy. The location was good, didn’t have to travel far to the harbour area and activities meet up points. However the room was awful.. there was damp in our room!! The bed sheets make you itch, it was dark and the walls were full of marks/ dirt. The food definitely needs to be better! We went half board and it was a waste of money. The most we got out of it was pancakes for breakfast. On the last day there was even left over chicken nuggets for breakfast?? Funchal was amazing! But I would definitely recommend picking a better hotel to stay at..
I looked at several Pestana hotels before booking this. It seemed good value at £275 per night in high season for 2 adults 2 children on a half board basis. I was expecting a decent 3* hotel with a kids club. It's really disappointing. Rooms: dated. Can't plug your phone in next to your bed. Yellowing bath and sink. Kids bed were so old the springs were all gone and wooden slats broke at the bottom. Limited storage to put anything. Kids club: its a dank sad semi basement room with not much stuff in it an you cannot leave your child there unattended (there were no staff manning it anyway). Food: Honestly the most repulsive hotel food I've ever eaten at a buffet. We had tried to reserve a la carte at the Pestana Grand but there were none left. After one night of mushy defrosted fish and bony chicken we travelled by uber to the Pestana Grand at 6.30 all the other evenings where thankfully the waiter took pity on us and let us in. There are no reservations available btw not because the restaurants are full but because they haven't hired enough staff to serve & cook in them. The only good thing I could say about it is the gardens were well maintained and my children enjoyed the pools. We stayed at the Pestana Carlton on the seafront on the way back from Porto Santo and if was infinitely better and annoyingly the same price as the Pestana Village when I booked. I would recommend booking it instead if it's priced similar to the Pestana Village.
