With its idyllic location and spectacular views out over the Promenade, the Pestana Promenade Hotel is one of the first-choice destinations for so many holidaymakers to Madeira. And it's not just the views that impress. With so much to discover – both at the hotel and in Madeira itself, it's a great choice for holidaymakers of all kinds. There's plenty to see and do, there are plenty of exciting opportunities for trips out, and for relaxing back at the hotel. In short, this is a location – and a hotel – with so much more to offer.
All the guide books will tell you about the promenade. It stretches all the way to the beach at Praia Formosa, and is the very best way to take in the sights, stopping for a drink or a meal along the way.
And because it's set on the promenade, the Pestana Promenade Hotel offers outstanding views of the ocean too. You can look out for miles, from the promenade and the hotel. No wonder this is such a popular place to stay.
But it's not just about the location. The Pestana Promenade Hotel offers a wealth of facilities and amenities, making it one of the region's very best-equipped hotels with games room, gym, and spa with Jacuzzi . One of the main attractions is undoubtedly the pool – one of biggest in Madeira. You can while away many hours dipping in and out of the pool, enjoying a drink and a snack, and making the most of the sun and the laid-back holiday lifestyle.
Rooms at the Pestana Promenade Hotel are similarly enticing. All of the ensuite side sea view rooms benefit from a private balcony or terrace, so that you can make the most of those holiday views. All rooms are air conditioned, and come with cable TV, phone, safe deposit box, hairdryer, and mini fridge. Full sea view and superior sea view rooms and suites are available at a supplement.
You'll also enjoy a wide range of dining options. Of course there are lots of bars, restaurants and lovely little tavernas to discover out and about in Funchal, as well as a fine selection of bars and restaurants at the Pestana Promenade Hotel. Great food, wonderful views and a lovely laid-back atmosphere make dining 'en hotel' quite a special experience.
The Pestana Promenade Hotel is one of Madeira's most enduringly popular hotels. Its pool, its views and its friendly ambience will certainly ensure that it's always going to draw the crowds – and the plaudits.
Situated in front of the spectacular promenade that stretches from Lido to Praia Formosa, the Pestana Promenade offers stunning views to the ocean. The hotel's enviable location is complemented by a great range of facilities including one of the largest pool areas on Madeira.

This is our fourth stay at this lovely friendly hotel, where we find the staff and guests are all very approachable and have made many friends coming here over the years. The food is very good and the pool complex is exceptional . The rooms are serviced every day . The location is central to some very good restaurants and not too expensive. We are looking forward to our next trip here next year
We have been visiting Madeira for 24 years, almost always one of the Pestana hotels, and all are a good standard. Our first time at Pestana Promenade and we can't wait to return! Great location, lovely friendly and helpful staff, spacious sea facing room . Thoroughly recommend.
Loved our stay at Pestana Promenade 😍 A beautiful Hotel with fantastic service, outdoor pool area was absolutely wonderful, breakfast was great, location was perfect with lots of nice restaurants and shops in walking distance but in a quite nabourhood. Would really recommend this Hotel.
Nice hotel with great views and right on the Promenade for good walking. The pool is quite nice as well. Not really walking distance to the old town center but a quick bus ride or 7 euro cab ride gets you there. I would have given this hotel a little higher rating except for a few things. The best outdoor seating near the bar is allocated to smokers. In addition, each morning and evening when on our balcony, smoke drifted in from the neighbors. Probably normal in Europe but annoying for a hotel that promotes non-smoking. I mentioned this to the bar manager but he just shrugged his shoulders so mostly out of his control. The other item that was troubling was the step up bathtub shower with large glass window on one side and hinged glass on the other. Tub is narrow and no waist high grab bars so difficult for seniors. There is limited parking below the hotel with sone tight spaces. The staff all seemed quite pleasant. Not a boutique experience but adequate for Madeira.
We booked a room with pool view but we can't see the pool. And the sun does not shine to our terrace because down by the building behind bushes and trees. The hotel doesn't do anything without giving extra money to them. The glutenfree items in the breakfast very poor. For example the breads and the muffins are like sawdust. We can find much more better items even in the nearby little shops. The hotel offers only big and high pillows. We asked for small and low but they don't have. Unfortunately we will get pain in the neck when using high pillows and we are not the only ones among the hotel guests.
