Amazing atmosphere
Such a nice hotel with so many great experiences and activities. The abba night especially was amazing. Would highly highly recommend. Also lovely sea and pools.

Fantastic night , great for many different age groups
Absolutely fantastic, a great night had by all. The food was good, the wine was flowing and the tribute to ABBA was out of this world. Do not miss it or you will be disappointed.
Abba night at the Pestana Carlton
Staying at the Grand but here tonight for the Anna tribute night. Excellent music & great atmosphere. Been before but worth a repeat visit.
Fabulous stay in a relaxing hotel.
We have stayed at this hotel before. They have improved the entrance, the bar area and outside seating so that more diners/ guests can enjoy the outside. Happy hour for cocktails starts the evening off well. Staff are very welcoming and efficient. Well done to every member of staff. The rooms are good with an excellent maid service. The pool areas are good, no issues with sunbeds. You never feel crowded there. The pool bar is so useful to get a cool drink or light snack. Such polite staff. There is a lift to the outdoor pool by the sea and again a lovely area for sun worshippers. Additionally, ther ia an indoor pool and Carlton has superb changing facilities. Beds to relax in if you want a rest from the sun. It is ideally situated to walk into Funchal and there are many fabulous cafes, shops and historic buildings. You can get a bus back or taxi if you need.
If you want to explote the beautiful island, there are bus stops near and tours pick you up outside the Carlton.
We will go back as we have enjoyed our stays at this hotel and feel so relaxed. If you want a complete chill, you need not leave the hotel.
Superb.
Great Hotel, everything about it is superb. Great location, surrounded by restaurants so searching places to eat. It was my birthday while we were there and they left a bottle of sparkling wine in the room, nice surprise.
