As Madeira’s first All Inclusive resort, Enotel Lido offers a privileged location in the island’s capital and features a relaxing spa. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it is close to public bus stops, and guests can also enjoy a pleasant stroll along the seafront promenade.
Location- to be honest we didn’t do much research before booking so didn’t realise the whole island was basically on a hill. Everything is either uphill or downhill. The town is about a 25 minute walk up. Shopping centre other side is about 15-20 minute walk up. Also didn’t realise when booking that there are no sandy beaches near hotel. Only cobble/rocks which was slightly disappointing if you’re looking for a beach day. Unless you like hiking/ boat trips there’s not really much to do.
Atmosphere- Pool gets very busy when it’s hot. Although it says you’re not allowed to reserve sunbeds - EVERYONE DOES. I didn’t at first, however as time went on you had to or you’d miss out. Evening entertaining is good at the hotel! Lively atmosphere and staff do try really hard to keep guests entertained!
Cleaning- Hotel is spotless!! Very clean everywhere, staff around all day constantly cleaning, tidying, making things look good.
Food- Food at hotel is the best all inclusive I’ve had before. Can’t fault the food, lots of different options. One thing I will say is the ‘themed’ restaurants do only have a set menu which is the same every night and if you don’t like it then it’s not an option.
Had a really nice stay, I personally wouldn’t book again due to the amount of kids/children. I thought booking before summer would avoid that but from now on I will only do adults only. The spa was lovely, which is adults only. The heated pool is abit of a shame it’s just kids splashing and screaming most of the day. Only thing I’d fault the hotel on is the hairdryer turns off after around 5 mins, and the shower seals were split so after a shower the bathroom was flooded ( after we unpacked we couldn’t be bothered to be moved ) so unsure if I’d say 5 star if I’m being really picky.
We’ve just returned from a fantastic one-week stay at the Enotel and had an amazing time. We stayed in a suite, which was spacious and comfortable, with a huge balcony offering beautiful sea views. The room was kept spotless by the excellent housekeeping team, and having a fridge and powerful air conditioning made our stay even more comfortable. The food in the main restaurant was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes to suit all tastes. Every member of the restaurant staff was friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. We also loved the pool bar and café, where the pizzas and snacks were delicious. We didn’t try the themed restaurants but I did hear good reports from others staying in the hotel. The all-inclusive package was well worth it, with a great selection of branded drinks. The bar staff were consistently professional, efficient, and welcoming throughout our stay. We honestly couldn’t fault our holiday. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. We highly recommend the Enotel to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with great food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere.
We stayed three nights here and I was so incredibly impressed by the staff and food and the facilities. The room was outstanding and comfortable with a fantastic view of the ocean. The food was incredible- buffet was top quality with no expense spared. The variety ensured there was something for everyone. The staff was helpful and friendly always ready to assist. We arrived late and they kept the buffet open to serve us and took our luggage to our room without asking- this was so appreciated after a long transatlantic flight. I will return here for sure.
Well, where do you start when you have just come back. saving grace is its hot in the UK.
Firstly welcome was really nice here! Porter greeted us and took our bags up! ( tip given) no way was we taking the cases up :)..
Swift and quick check in procedure.
We booked a standard room, ample, and enough room, would have liked a Suite but £££. after checking in wondered down for Lunch - WOW so much to choose from ! salads, meats, breads, fruits, you name it. Foods change every day which is good.
Breakfast, and Lunch all ample, lots to choose from.
STAFF are amazing, friendly and cannot do enough for you !
Lots of drinks to choose from.
Sports bar has branded sprits ! - handy as I like a proper scotch!
Sports bar has the other restaurants in, so again lots of hot and cold food.
You can just eat and eat and drinks as much as you want..
Facilities are really good. Two other areas for drinks, in side - totally perfect.
ENTERTAINMENT was excellent on Friday night - external team come in and is great - an eye opener.
Reception can arrange all your taxis and trips out - highly recommend a visit to the Main town, and shopping centre if you wish.
It is very clean, no issue, rooms cleaned daily.
Service from every staff member was great, I did not want to come home, but there is always next year !
I would 100% recommend this hotel, great for families also, mine are over 17 now. This was our 5th time to Madeira and have no hesitation to return.
My only grip, is the smoking, it is not nice at the sports bar when you are relaxing, it is semi outdoors, but covered. Management in this day and age I think smoking should not be allowed. sorry but I just cannot deal with it. Smoke if you wish but mindful of those who don't. :) sorry.
Spa pools are nice, and the indoor pool, outdoor pool is ample, and the pool is no deeper than 1.2m approx.,
Really one of the best holidays I have had and this was a new hotel we stayed in following four at others, 100% to return in a year or so.
Thank you to all the Staff, Atmosphere was just nice because of you.
Until next time !
This is a decent hotel. It’s clean and modern with good facilities. The staff are professional and very polite. The food is good with the main buffet restaurant laid out with a good selection for breakfast lunch and dinner. We always sat on the terrace as it’s really lovely to eat outside with the view of the pool and sea. We didn’t try the other restaurants even though you can eat in these unlimited times during your stay. We always preferred eating on the terrace in comparison to these restaurants that are quite small and dark. The alcohol is very free flowing including the option of champagne and wine at all times. Staff walk around the pool area of a daytime with trays handing out cold water, beer, soft drinks to guests on loungers. The free underground parking is a huge bonus as we hired a car for the week that we collected from the airport. Our room 716 was spacious, clean and comfortable with the bonus of dressing gowns slippers and hairdryer plus tea and coffee making facilities. Our room however was quite dull as we were on the side overlooking a road. I suggest you request a room overlooking the swimming pool as these balconies would be much nicer to sit on. The lido area is good to walk around, restaurants and shops nearby although we didn’t use these as we were all inclusive.
