Dissatisfied with Hotel Manager
The Pestana Golf resort is an excellent facility and deserves a 5 star rating, however due to our experience on the last day I am only giving them a 2. The accommodation was excellent and the golf courses where in excellent condition. The only issue I would have that on our 2nd day there was a note left in our room that stated that we had to check out by 12pm and we would not be allowed to use any of the facilities as it was booked by a private party. We asked if we could leave our clubs in the baggage room until our transport to the airport picked us up at 5.15pm. This request was denied by the hotel. They expected us to drag our clubs around for 5 hours and return to the hotel for our airport transfer. Luckily a member of the party who had booked out the resort allowed us to store our clubs in a room not being used. The attitude of the manager and the, I don't care attitude by the hotel ruined the ending of our trip. Had we known on booking that we would be kicked out we could have made alternative arrangements for an earlier pick up. Unfortunately the attitude of the manager stating they don't have to tell us anything, let the communication down.
Bunch of jobsworths. Not close to 5 star claims.
Here associated with a family celebration. Booked a classic garden view room(tiny). Food is ok if you get it just put out. Otherwise quickly goes cold. Heat lamps on buffet are not heat bulbs!! Last night celebration and waited 20 minutes for waiter and ordered 2 cocktails. 10 minutes later they arrived. Tried to pay cash, not accepted, apparently I needed to create an account. When I suggested I pay on check out I was chased by a staff member. I again offered to pay cash and gave him euros covering my bill. I'll wait to see if I get my change. No one said cash was not accepted unless an account was generated.

Mickey Mouse golf package, aka rubbish
Went with my pal to play golf. The Villas are good tbf, bathrooms are dated and the so called patio isn’t anything to shout about. Breakfast is average, evening meal is slightly better. Golf experience was terrible, firstly the driving range was closed for the whole time (apparently the ball collector wasn’t working) and the seemed in no rush to rectify it. Secondly, no buggies available, this course is £200 per round, per person and they can’t even manage the buggy situation properly. The final nail in the coffin was that on the last day the key reader broke on my room, it took two hours to fix. I went back and forth to reception 6 times and the droids on reception never apologised once for the inconvenience. The only saving grace to their terrible customer service was the manager Vanessa who at least took the time to listen to me vent, and apologised. Book another golf hotel that actually gives a sh*t about your golf experience

Beautiful grounds and facilities
We had a lovely stay at vila sol. Beautiful facilties, with 3 pools and amazing breakfast. We had a massage in the spa which was excellent, would recommend.
Beautiful Resort in Vilamoura
Fantastic hotel in Algarve. We booked here as we have stayed in other Pestanas and I'll admit after reading reviews I nearly cancelled but SO GLAD we didn't. We loved this hotel, the room we booked was a family garden room and was two bedroom and two bathroom. It was clean and well maintained each day. We had a bottle of water every day and found the breakfast was great for us. The location is secluded, nothing is in walking distance so you MUST have a car and there is ample parking outside. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. I can not believe people find fault in this hotel. The grounds are beautiful, yes the pool bar is a little pricey but that's to be expected. The pool had many chairs and we used the indoor and outdoor pool. I would not hesitate to stay here again with our without kids.
