This hotel is located right on the beach overlooking the sea in Praia da Rocha. Portimão marina is within a walking distance while famous Rocha Beach is only 600 metres. Faro Airport lies some 80 km drive away. Restaurants, cafes, casino and golf courses are nearby. The hotel offers the most comfortable suites in Portimão offering free Wi-Fi Internet, air conditioning, king-size beds and a sofa bed, 2 LCD screens with cable TV and a balcony. Besides other facilities such as swimming pool, Grand Caffé Bar and gym (cardio machines). Guests can enjoy a buffet dinner or drinks at on-site restaurant and grand cafe bar. Guests arriving by cars may use the hotel parking area.

Guest beware- room theft! Nothing done by staff
BEWARE!!! Room theft!!! Staff very very unhelpful.
My husband was here for one night and placed all valuables in the safe. The safe was too small for his laptop. He left for dinner and immediately after returning the laptop was gone. The man at the front desk, Ricardo, was incredibly rude. He said that only my husbands key card was used in the door but refused to share more information noting the door was opened many many times. This was not the case. He asked to see the security footage & was met with more rudeness from Ricardo. He asked to speak with management & was simply told they had gone home. Short of getting police involved, the hotel staff was incredibly unhelpful. The manager couldn’t even call my husband to discuss the incident. We waited for a manager to call all day. And nothing.
Also an important thing to note that this hotel was booked bc of parking. When he got there he was told parking was full. No solutions. No suggestions. No refunds. Same front desk staff.
Just beware!

We are on our 4th day of our week holiday with our sons. So far, everything is perfect for our holiday.
The reception staff are friendly. We could not check-in early but they told us that we could the facilities, pool etc. They stored our luggages securely. Pool towels are rented out towards a deposit of 10 euros each. We were given 2 rooms next to each other which are fantastic sizes. Big beds and lounge area with fridge, sink and kettle. The bathroom soaps, shampoo and lotion smells fresh and lovely. The cleaners work hard and always smiling.
The hotel is clean and not pretentious.
The pool is not very big but enough size for the amount of guests. The pool area flooring needs to be looked after as some parts of decking is quite worn or needs checking. Some of us have tripped a bit. The pool bar needs an update too. Some drinks are not up to higher standard. Smoothies are not made of fruits but with flavoured mix. Nuno works his best.
Breakfast choices are very good for its rating. No special omelette station but plenty of egg variation. Plenty of fresh fruits, fresh orange juice, warm dishes and cold dishes, breads and pastries.
There are many restaurants in Praia Da Rocha area. Big variation. There are buses close to the hotel which runs frequently to Portimao old town and Marina. The beach in front of hotel is big and clean. Ideal for families. Lots of restaurants and snack bars

Highly recommended
Nice location. The rooms was very nice and clean. We booked anly room and breakfast (the food was very nice and diversity of choices. The atmosphere in the hotel was pleasant. Good service. Low level of noise. The only complaint was the fact the we booked for sea side view and we received road side view 😅 but was nice. We will definitely come back (hopefully with a sea side view next time) 😁
The pool
Great hotel good location but if your a pool lover give it a miss as the view is not the best, don’t imagine it gets much sun in summer

Off-season at Hotel da Rocha
My husband and I stayed here during the off-season. This was the second stop on our Portugal trip.
HOTEL :
- staff was VERY friendly
- rooms were spacious
- hotel is 30 seconds from the beach!!
- didn’t use the pool because it was off-season, but I noticed that it did not get very much sun
- the gym was nice
- breakfast buffet was AMAZING!
- supper buffet is highway robbery ($30 euros per person!!… we did not go)
WEATHER:
- temperatures between 13-17 degrees Celsius
- I would suggest packing layers
- I did not wear shorts but my husband did
- nobody was swimming at the beach
BOARDWALK:
- you can rent scooters to zip up and down the boardwalk (you will need to download the app “Bird”)
- scooters on the boardwalk are constrained to the boardwalk only, you can’t take them into town
- there are tons of places to check out, buy souvenirs, have coffee or eat (though about half are closed during off-season)
BEACH:
- is stunning!!
- several places right in the beach to eat and drink
- you can find sea shells and sea glass if you look
DOWNSIDES:
- we ordered Uber eats a few times, requesting cutlery each time.. but never got any… napkins must be endangered because they were non-existent
- when you take a shower, you also take a bath cause the tub drains are badly clogged
- toilet paper… lovingly referred to as “paper paper” and also on the endangered list
All in all.. great stay! I would go back in a heartbeat.
