Maltese bliss
We couldn’t have wished for a better location! My friend and I shared a room on the 4th floor close to the stairs to the rooftop pool. It’s the perfect vantage point to watch the passing parade of boats, ships etc. The room was large enough for us to spread out for a week. The aircon was much appreciated after really hot days. The hotel is in a great spot, close to shops, and easy walking distance to many restaurants and historic places. We used taxis as driving would have been almost impossible and the streets surrounding it are very narrow. The staff were awesome and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast is buffet and à la carte. I’d definitely stay there again. Malta has my heart ♥️🤍

Nice stay with room for improvement
Overall, we had a nice stay but there are a few areas where the experience could have been elevated further to make it exceptional.
Let’s get the constructive feedback out of the way:
Upon arriving at 3am (after a severely delayed flight), we arrived at reception and unfortunately received a bit of a tepid welcome. It would have been nice to feel warmly welcomed after our long and tiring journey, especially given it was our honeymoon, having been married that same morning - which we did let the hotel know in advance.
There were ants crawling around the bathroom throughout our stay, and we couldn’t identify where they were coming from.
Unfortunately we were given a room without a balcony or even a view. Instead, we had a courtyard walkway “view” where we had people frequently walking past our room’s windows, which once again dampened the honeymoon vibes somewhat as we had to keep the curtains closed or risk being face to face with other hotel guests whilst changing.
The worst part for us- on our first morning (after our very late 3am arrival) we had housekeeping enter our room at 8am un-announced whilst we were sleeping (This woke us up and left us in a very shocked state)! This sour experience led us to realise we had no internal lock or chain on our door. Our room was directly next to the elevator- which needed no room key to access the bedroom floors - coupled with the people being able to see directly, at face height into our windows, left us feeling uneasy and I was glad that I wasn’t a female traveling alone.
The breakfast and pool areas had a nice playlist going, it’s a shame that it would be interrupted constantly by an advertisement to upgrade to Spotify Premium…if you’re running a 4-star hotel, just pay the monthly subscription fee like the rest of us 😉
Again, for a 4-star boutique hotel at this price point I’d usually expect distinct shampoo and conditioner bottles instead of built-in dispensers…it just cheapened the experience somewhat as we had to go out and buy proper hair conditioner.
Now onto the good!
The breakfast was very good! I have a dairy allergy and this was always understood and catered for; definitely not always a given in hotels! Food and drinks at the rooftop bar were also tasty and affordable.
Highly recommend checking out the spa…their signature massage was fantastic, I left feeling very relaxed. Might even be one of the best massages I’ve ever had!
Location was great, everything was easily accessible by foot, boat or uber.
The view of the harbour from the rooftop was spectacular. I never tired of sitting in the pool and just taking it all in!
Hotel in the Heart of Valetta
This hotel is located in the heart of Valletta.
Walking distance from great resturants, bars, coffee shops and sightseeing attractions.
Firstly thanks to the Rasida at reception, for helping us with our booking, sightseeing recommendations and her friendly advice.
All the staff at the pool bar, and breakfast lounge, were friendly and efficient.
The pool area on the 5th floor was full of great panoramic views, and well serviced by a pool bar. There is also a lower floor pool, spa, sauna, and Gym if its too hot outside.
The room was well appointed with a nice balcony, and very good aircondioning. King size bed was firm and supportive, and there were a good selection of pillows.
Overall great Hotel, with very good features, and staff.

Boutique hotel in Valletta
Beautiful, boutique hotel.
There was a lot to love about this hotel. The rooftop bar/ small swimming pool had stunning views of the city/ sea.
The staff were attentive and friendly and the breakfast was wonderful.
It was ideally situated to explore Valletta.
We had a 4th floor bedroom which was uncomfortably hot for my husband.
We will definitely be returning.

Special Birthday Surprise
This review is long overdue. I was not a client of the Gomerino Hotel; however my dear friend was celebrating a major birthday while staying there. Michael and the rest of the front desk staff were extremely valuable in helping me arrange a surprise spa visit for her, as well as a chilled bottle of champagne in her room upon arrival. I live in the U.S. so the surprise involved a few emails and phone calls to make the arrangements. Needless to say, she loved it and raved about the customer service offered by Michael and the rest of the staff. I hope to go to the Gomerino one day.
