Great experience and food. Hasheem was great in bringing our car to the front and helping in loading luggages etc

Over and above expectations
The hotel itself lived up to expectations for a hotel of this calibre. What made it exceptional was the staff who went above an over to help when my husband was taken ill. Special mention to Lama the duty manager, the concierge team particularly Joseph and the staff at The Terrace restaurant who were very welcoming. My only criticism is that the orange juice at breakfast could be improved.

Amazing hotel, superb staff team - thank you!
My wife and I stayed at the Westin Dragonara Resort, enjoying a Tower Room in the hotel, with the room having exceptionally comfortable sunbeds on a private terrace. The room was fantastic and had everything we needed, including a well stocked minibar, complimentary water, robes, slippers, toiletries, and much more. The hotel is exceptional. With a few restaurants, gym, spa, pools, adults only sunbathing area, bars and an outstanding selection of food for breakfast and plenty of choices for lunch and dinner too. However, a significant strength of the hotel is the staff team. The attention to detail and customer service was exemplary, from the pool hosts, restaurant serving staff, reception team and the operations team who are keen to check that everything is well, without being overbearing. They balance attention and sensitivity brilliantly. My wife and I were celebrating a special anniversary and following a conversation over breakfast with Operations Executive, Ashish, we later returned to our room to a beautiful selection of chocolates and a lovely bottle of wine. This exemplifies the attention and care that guests receive and is clearly the ethos and expectation across the resort. Thank you sincerely for a wonderful stay - we will undoubtedly return!

Terrible.
A number of things stood out as being really poor at this hotel. It’s 5 star but it’s service, food, comfort is 3 star only.
- staff - check in was the worst I’ve had. No drink offered until the end and then a water was poured into a paper coffee cup. So odd.
QR code pointed to with any questions asked. The complex is large but no orientation or map was provided. All questions led to telling me to self serve with the QR code. I’ve worked in digital for 20 + years and I couldn’t get the info I needed! Staff were not empowered to make decisions. Everything needed a manager:

service - the staff have no Maltese style or service. I’ve stayed in other hotels in Malta and not felt this way before.

food - lobby bar food was so hit and miss. I made a complaint about the noodle and chicken salad and was told this is how it is - dry and tasteless: this is just how it is and I had to pay for it anyway and no offer of a replacement meal.

drinks - I bought the most expensive wine by the glass but was warm and gone off so had to return it,

pool and sunbeds- adult pool closed and the kids pool was overcrowded and felt like a family 3 star resort. The sunbeds were scattered over rocks and some umbrellas were damaged. The sea water would typically come over these rocks so lots of sunbeds needed to be pushed up to the rocks and you felt like you were on top of people next to you.

The man called Sunny (guest relations) - this man made himself known to me after seeing a review on Google I left a couple of days before I left. He turned on the charm and gave me club access to snacks during the day. (It was an airport lounge vibe inside). He did not resolve or take the meal off my bill at the lobby and did not try to resolve anything but on a daily basis even following me to check out asked me to remove my review. This was so uncomfortable.
Spa - you need to walk through a gym used by external locals to go to the spa - mostly men. Wasn’t ideal. The spa wasn’t very big so for the size of the hotel sauna and jacuzzis was pretty rammed. Children are allowed at any age until 7pm. Not relaxing!
Security - going between breakfast or reception and the pool you need your key card and the person on the door doesn’t seem to like opening it for you!
