Classic elegance, rich furnishings and a unique, boutique style elevates the Victoria Hotel in Sliema to one of Malta's finest places to stay. It has a timeless elegance to it, and a traditional service ethic too, so you'll always be very well received and impeccably looked after.
Located in an elevated position on a hill in the heart of Sliema – one of the favourite destinations for holidaymakers – the Victoria Hotel is only a short distance to the seafront promenade – this is where Sliema lives and breathes – in its spectacular coastline, its array of shops and entertainments, and its friendly people.
As well as giving you the opportunity to explore Sliema, and the rich cultural heritage of the nearby capital, Valetta, the Victoria Hotel offers you every opportunity to relax. Benefiting from a quiet location and superb spa facilities, this is somewhere you can really take things easy.

Even the restaurant menus are geared to your wellbeing, with a new healthy eating option available.
At the end of the day we do recommend a visit to the intimate Penny Black Bar, to luxuriate in the exquisite armchairs and while away the evening. Perfection!
Like Sliema, the Victoria Hotel manages to give you a little bit of both sides of Malta. In its refined setting and furnishings, you get a taste of the great devotion to hospitality and a hint of the past; while its facilities bring you right up-to-date.
The hotel is suitable for guests with mobility issues, but please note the hotel is located on a slope.

The Victoria Hotel is a superior 4-star hotel, located in quiet peaceful surroundings, situated in the heart of Sliema and a few minutes walk from the popular and picturesque seafront promenade.
Sliema offers excellent shopping, open air cafeterias, restaurant and bars and is only fifteen minutes drive away from Valletta or accessible by ferry.
Fantastic service and food, dealt with my food allergies brilliantly and I felt very safe eating there. Rooms and facilities perfect as well.
We stayed here for 10 nights having stayed here before around 15 years ago. Not a lot has changed, but that’s not a bad thing. The Reception area is airy and welcoming and the room we had was comfortable.
We were upgraded from a classic room to one with a balcony which was nice although the balcony was tiny (see photo). Air conditioning in the room was decent and the beds were comfortable and we slept well. Bathroom was clean and a good size with the shower above the bath. The only issue we had during our stay was with towels as there were numerous days when fresh towels were not left in the room and we had to chase.
Breakfast was better than we expected with cooked food available and buffet style. Overall it was very good with an egg station for omlettes and although cooked the sausages looked after little pale and put me off having them.
The hotel is 4 star rated but shares the facilities with the adjoing 5 star sister hotel AX Palace. To be honest unless the bedrooms in The Palace are significantly better I’m unsure why people would book there instead of staying at The Victoria. It is fair to say though that The Palace is bigger and looks more luxurious.
There are several restaurants across the hotels with the Temptasian one offering lovely views over Valetta and delicious food although a little pricey. We received excellent and friendly service from Romabel when we ate there.
The location of the hotel is perfect and there are rooftop pools with bars areas to grab a refreshing drink. Note that the rooftop bars do not take cash, only card and signing to your room if you have added a card to your room at check-in. Other than the towels issue, service was excellent and friendly.
Would we come back here? Definitely.

What an amazing find. Hotel is clean and tidy with fantastic staff. Reception staff are friendly and helpful but the most helpful person was Charles in the hotels’s breakfast room. He went above and beyond to help with my diary intolerance sourcing soya yoghurts from the kitchen. Being Maltese je was able to suggest things to do and places to visit. Would highly recommend a stay here
From the moment we checked in the staff were amazing. So funny and friendly and full of helpful advice. The room was clean and serviced every day. The rooftop pool was great and big enough and the staff were fantastic. It's also great for watching the sunset and even though it's right next door to the hospital but you'd never know it was there. The food was delicious and so reasonably priced. Was nice to go somewhere that doesn't over charge you. We paid about €5 for a glass of wine. Breakfast was lovely with loads of choice. Valetta isn't far and fairly cheap in a bolt taxi. Id definitely go again.
Great location to explore. Local vicinity included some beautiful maltese streets and churches. Loved the bells and fireworks that could be seen and heard daily.
Lidl 2 minutes away. Great gym with a squat rack. Smith machine, free weights up to 25kg, 2 cable stations, various cardio equipment and a full size punchbag.
Nice breakfast and decent pool bar. Adults only pool best quiet location for catching the rays and stunning views from both pools. Sliema is quite big so take time to explore and get bearings but all really cental from hotel.
Tried lots of maltese/seafood restaurants...il merril, ta kris, calle bistro, ta kolina, lina's...all great.
Valetta is stunning! As is Mdina/Rabat...get an uber early a.m. and beat the crowds but even then some streets are deserted and beautiful. 3 city harbour tour is fab...90 mins and gorgeous. Also worth getting bus from rabat to mosta.
Hotel really nice. Great aircon and as mentioned nice breakfast and fab gym. Room nice. Always a sunbed available too somewhere on the roof terrace. Room cleaning top notch and pool towels available daily.
Really want to give 5 stars...alas lock on bathroom door was iffy...reception thought we were only staying for 7 nights to begin with rather than 11...there was almost 3 days of jack hammering on the floor above to fix issue with indoor pool...appreciate that this can't be helped but there was no communication given to anyone, a note under the door would have sufficed, it was mostly through the day so not a great deal... water did leak into our room which went on some of our clothes whether that was from said pool unsure...it was quickly dealt with but there was no offer to take away and wash the clothes which tbh I expected out of common courtesy.
Talking of courtesy there was no courtesy room available to use before our late evening flight. We approached reception a few days prior and we were told that they would look into it and to mention again at checkout and recieve details...however we were told on our last day to use the pool showers...obviously this meant our last day and lasting memories ended on a somewhat sticky note! What a shame.
