AX Palace Hotel in Sliema is every inch the five star hotel – beautifully furnished and immaculately run; it boasts a perfect location with views looking out over the Grand Harbour. But more than that, it has its own unique sense of style and character.
With its picture postcard perfect outlooks, its chic, elegant interior and its wonderful facilities, the Palace Hotel really lives up to its name. And with its own spa facilities offering a range of indulgent body and health treatments, the emphasis is firmly on relaxation.
In fact, you can't help but relax at the Palace Hotel. Rooms are stylishly appointed, and benefit from plasma screen satellite TV, tea/coffee facilities, minibar and climate control. (Most rooms also feature a balcony or terrace.) And anyone who wants to take luxurious living to its ultimate expression can hire their very own butler for the duration of their stay.
While eating out is one of any holiday's great pleasures (especially in Sliema with its array of fine restaurants), eating in is just as big an attraction at the Palace Hotel. With three superb restaurants to choose from, each with its own unique style and menu, there is a wealth of fine, fresh cuisine to savour. The stunning views of the Grand Harbour from the TemptAsian Restaurant on the 9th floor add a little extra relish to any meal.
Additional facilities – of which a paid babysitting service, room service, mini gym and sauna are just some – all add to the sense of The Palace Hotel being one of Sliema's finest hotels.
There are no compromises at the Palace Hotel – everything, from the service to the rooms to the restaurants are as good as they can be. The fact that it occupies a prime spot in Malta's premiere holiday destination, Sliema, makes it impossible to resist its charms.
The luxurious 5-star Palace Hotel is located within walking distance of Sliema. This impressive hotel offers guests an enjoyable and memorable stay.
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and other attractions. The service was also very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. One of the highlights was definitely the rooftop pool, which was fantastic and offered a great place to relax. However, in my opinion, this hotel feels more like a 4-star hotel rather than a true 5-star property. The hotel itself is quite dated, and while the rooms are comfortable and acceptable, both the rooms and bathrooms would benefit from some renovation and refreshing. Overall, we still had a nice stay and enjoyed our time at the hotel.
Great location, really nice staff. The room was great, obviously recently renovated, the bathroom hadnt been updated yet though I assume. Me and my friend are both gluten and dairy intolerant and they were good with allergens, though catching a waiter at breakfast was difficult. We also only found out that there were options other than bread on the second to last day. Was quite noisy at the rooftop pool, but the adults only deck was quieter. The rooms were noisy at night though, with lots of doors slamming and knocking on other doors. The temptasian restaurant on the top deck was really nice and staff really welcoming.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
The location was great, making it easy to get around and enjoy the area. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was excellent throughout my stay.
The rooftop pool was also fantastic. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views.
Thanks to the wonderful hospitality, I had a very comfortable and enjoyable trip. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Malta.
We stayed here for a week in one of the hotels deluxe rooms. The room was really spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The room was cleaned to a great standard on a daily basis and we were mostly supplied with fresh towels. The air-conditioning was also very good and needed !! The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice and there was a station were a chef was cooking omelettes, pancakes and eggs all to your liking ! I would like to add that the staff in the breakfast area are very hardworking and that nothing was too much trouble for any of them, they were really friendly Just a few minor disappointments, after requesting fresh towels as we were not left them one day and ours had been taken to launder, I had to ask 3 times and was promised that they would be sent to our room however, we never received them so just gave up which wasn't great. On another occasion, water was dripping through the toilet ceiling in the early hours of the morning and craeting a bit of a flood on the floor. I called reception and they said someone would come to check but they never did. I thought that this wasn't great for a 5 star hotel. On the whole, I would say that it was great stay with some amazing, friendly and hardworking staff. I would say that it is a lovely hotel, but maybe just needs a bit of a refresh, like marks being removed from thr walls etc. Having said that it is also busy so general wear is to be expected. I would stay here again, It's in great location and Malta is a beautiful place !!
Excellent location in Sliema. A short walk to the ferry and promenade.
Staff were first class and nothing was to much trouble . Excellent all round.
We had an executive room on the 7th floor . Room of a good standard. Had an aircon issue however swiftly resolved when reported . Area where could be improved if you want to market yourself as 5 star. Then tea coffee and the like should be better than what you get at a Premier inn. Maybe fresh milk in the fridge ? And better coffee than Nescafé
Good atmosphere around the hotel and that’s down to the staff. They really are superb!!!
All restaurants on the roof terrace are excellent. Snack bar / Asian restaurant
Buffet for breakfast is very very good and the honey still on the honeycomb was excellent. Other hotels take note!! Excellent global choices
Now a little disappointment is the rooftop pool area during the day. Note this area is open to NON guests who are I was lead to believe are supposed to pay a €30 cover charge for the day. We never saw anyone collecting the fee and therefore at times the pool was rather full with non guests. Again in my opinion 5 star hotel should only allow guests to use and police this
We spent a week at the hotel and left today . Note the hotel is closed for a major refurbishment from November this year to April
It doesn’t need much just the rooms in the odd place could be lifted. Excess Silicone etc nothing major just being slightly picky
I expect the refurbished Palace to be outstanding and maybe then will get the 5 stars is craves
