Right at the heart of Qawra, right at the heart of the action, the Santana hotel has to be one of Malta's most desirable spots. With its light sea blue livery, the hotel signposts its location – just a minute from the seafront itself.
The Qawra seafront is a favourite spot for holidaymakers, with its many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Beyond the promenade is another of its main attractions, the rocky beach, a haven for swimmers and sun bathers – and a great place to explore. Qawra is also home to some of Malta's most prized cultural sites too – no visit is complete without a trip to the historical towers and the church of St Francis of Assisi.

Even with such a perfect location, the Santana Hotel is more than just a base for exploring and enjoying Malta. It is, after all, a four star hotel with four star facilities to match.
There's a Wellness club offering over 80 health & beauty therapy treatments (at a fee ) and adding to the spa feel is a sauna and the opportunity for a massage (at a fee), plus a superb wellness centre with over plenty of treatments available.
After all of that, you can pick and choose one of the bars or restaurant's to while away a few pleasant hours in the evening.
Guests of the Santana Hotel often like to round things off by staying to enjoy the hotel's own schedule of entertainment – it does make for a very sociable end to the day.
Finally to bed. All rooms feature an en suite bathroom, most have a bath/shower and some just have showers. Rooms also feature tip top amenities like satalite TV (with pay TV), radio and hairdryer. Another bonus – keeping the temperature just right is a cinch with the centrally controlled air conditioning. Rooms were fully renovated in 2019 including the bathrooms which all rooms except Studio's feature a walk-in shower. Please note. All rooms free Wi-Fi and free use of safe. Most rooms feature a balcony – so you can look out at the twinkling lights of Qawra. Please note 'Economy Rooms' do not feature a balcony but only a window.

Just a minute from the picturesque seafront at Qawra, the Santana is at the heart of one of Malta's prime tourist areas with excellent shops and entertainment. Guest facilities include an indoor freshwater pool with jacuzzi, a sauna and massage (at a fee) and fitness room. Meals are served in the main dining room.

The Santana has really gone downhill since the upgrade. Building work was still ongoing, with intermittent water, leaks and damp throughout the hotel. I had to change rooms because mine was damp, yet the hotel initially wanted to charge me an upgrade fee to move. It was only after easyJet became involved that they agreed to move me, two days later. The new rooms are also considerably smaller than the original rooms. Very disappointing.

Nice base for travelling around Malta
We had a great break at the Santana, we wanted somewhere that was a good base for travelling around Malta and it did exactly that. Hotel was close to the bus station and the ferry port. The Santana isn't in the prettiest of areas and was noisy, with general traffic passing by; the view from our ground floor room, left a lot to be desired, so don't choose here, if you want to relax on your balcony. The room itself was basic but nice, however it did not look as it did in the Jet2 brochure. I would say the Santana is a 3 * plus hotel, rather than 4*, this is due to limited choice of food in the restaurant ,(quality of food is good) . We were also disappointed in not being offered any type of food, when wr arrived at the hotel at around 22:30. Having said all the above, I can say that the Santana is 4* + in the following areas: High standard of cleanliness in all areas of the hotel. Hardworking, friendly staff, they are a credit to the hotel. I would specifically like to mention Valentina and Regie in the restaurant!! The pool area was really lovely.

Excellent experience
Stayed at the Santana several times before, this time we were given room 903 on the top floor of the newly refurbished part, the room was spacious with a welcoming bottle of wine with snacks, the bathroom was very good with a nice big walk in shower, a big balcony with 4 sunloungers , the rooftop pools and bar were just a few steps down from our room. The food in the restaurant was very good with lots of choice and a nice selection of Maltese food one evening, all the staff we met were very friendly and our room was visited by the cleaners every day , we will definitely return to the Santana.
Great hotel
Really nice hotel I read some really bad reviews about the air con but do you realise the air con switched off when you open the main doors and balcony door . The room we had was very spacious and the beds so comfortable , we had a room over looking the square , there is a lot of shops near buy to buy water and fresh milk for tea and coffee in your room . Which is supplied by the hotel . As for the staff lovely I would like to mention some names of people that where really lovely Valentino, Bindo , Reggie and all the staff and waitresses in the eating area so friendly and helpful , the meals where tasty with hot and cold selections , goods puddings too . We enjoyed our swim in the indoor pool nice size too . My daughter and son in law stayed in a smaller room when we were there they enjoyed their stay too . May I point out I have spinal issues and arthritis I got really upset to find in my room there was no easy chair or sofa in my room but a member of staff got me one for our room to make my stay a happy one thank you Santana staff. Would I good back again yes I would .

We had an amazing stay at Santana Hotel! The staff at both the bar and dining hall were wonderful, the food was delicious with a great variety, and the live music in the evening made the experience even more special. Our four-bed room was spacious, with very comfortable beds. Special thanks to Mr. Binod for his politeness and helpfulness. Highly recommended — we would love to come back!
