Lesante Classic Luxury Hotel and Spa

Just back from an amazing 16 night stay at Lesante Classic. This was our first time at this hotel and on the island of Zakynthos. I was away with my husband and 2 daughters who are 16 and 12, our accommodation was perfect, we had 2 adjoining rooms so had 2 bathrooms which is needed with teenage girls . We were overlooking the bar and pool but the rooms were lovely and quiet. Even when they had a live singer on the music would finish by 11pm, which was always over by the time we got back from town eating out. Hotel staff were all absolutely amazing so warm friendly and welcoming on arrival on reception showing us the hotel and our rooms and providing all the information we needed. We stayed on a Bed & breakfast board and the staff in the restaurant in the mornings couldn’t do enough for you, lovely choice of buffet food and then a A4 menu of food you could order, omelettes were delicious. The Maître d' /host at breakfast was so lovely and so attentive . Angelo the hotel manager was present every morning and we saw him throughout the day as well, what a credit to the hotel he is, so friendly, polite and always making sure everything was ok and we were enjoying our stay. His leadership is clear to see in all his staff. I can’t remember all the names of the staff too many to mention but all made our stay so special. Such a fabulous location in a quiet spot just a 8/10 min walk to Tsilivi town which has lots of traditional Greek tapas restaurants and bars, we were spoilt for choice every night! The clear waters of Tsilivi Beach is a 2/3 min walk as you turn left out of the main reception. Beautiful beach with some lovely bars and restaurants on and was never overcrowded you can also walk to the town via the beach. So the location of the hotel is just perfect nice and quiet but so easy to get into the town. We took a trip into Zakynthos (Zante) old town which is very nice but we were advised to go into at night as the summers months it can be too hot in the day. It was very busy but if you like to shop lots of beautiful clothes shops and boutiques, and a nice harbour to have a look at some amazing yachts. It about 6/10 mins in a taxi and cost 15 euros . Some fabulous boat trips to book turtle island and the sunset cruise is a must. I couldn’t recommend the hotel enough and we’ll definitely be going back soon. Stayed here for a week with our three young kids. Booked a year in advance so got a good price and we were very happy with the style and atmosphere of the hotel; everyone is friendly, amenities are good, the room was clean and quiet all night and the hotel is clearly intended to be a traditionally luxurious (hence “Classic”) experience with added extras that you don’t often see any more, including 24hr room service, inclusive à la carte breakfast menu alongside the usual buffet, onsite luxury goods shop, hairdresser and free airport transfer. However, we did find the service to be very inconsistent and at times, inattentive. Simple things were missed, such as not providing menus or taking coffee orders at breakfast. The evening meal is not a buffet, which is fine as all the food was very good and designed to a different country’s menu each night, but dishes came out at different times and sometimes more than one at once. Dishes also varied in size between days, for example we had 5 bread rolls one evening and then 8 another. Small things that had no real consequence but did let down the elevated feel of the surroundings.

Travelling with young kids, we found the pool area to be perfect - small enough to keep an eye on them at all times but never over crowded and open from 8am which is a real bonus for kids as most places seem to make kids wait until 10am. People do reserve sun beds from early in the morning but we never had an issue getting a couple so long as we were by the pool by 9am. Food and drinks by the pool are, however, disproportionately expensive (€9 for an ice cream) and the drinks were not great - avoid the pina coladas! - but otherwise the days at the pool were perfect for us.

There is a small supermarket 2 minutes from the hotel and the town is an easy 10 minutes walk away, with a number of nice restaurants and bars with the usual tourist shops. The beach is only 5 minutes walk and it’s a glorious beach, with fine sand and shallow, clear water for such a long way out. Overall, we had a really lovely holiday here and would recommend it.

Just got back after our 8th visit as a family great time again and the renovations have made it better and as always the staff at the hotel make it.
