Poseidon Beach

This hotel is in a great location being right on the beach. There appeared to be ample sunbeds - although we didn't use any as we spent our time in the sea which is lovely with warm, clear water - it's shallow for a little way out, so great for families to swim and snorkel to see fish and crabs. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful on every occasion. The hotel was clean and the cleaning staff were lovely. The beach has pedalos SUP's and power boats for hire. Food was good quality and cooked nicely. Not a huge range but I think enough to satisfy most tastes and we looked forward to mealtimes - having the option of tea and coffee at mealtimes would have been good. The snack/pool restaurant was great for me as a meat eater but not so much for my daughter who is vegetarian- she could have had a bread roll tomato and cucumber or a cheese pasty - no chips/fries available at the bar - but they do have tea and coffee! This hotel was a great place to stay except for: drunk youths 16-25 screaming, shouting, singing, slamming doors and bouncing balls repeatedly against the doors and walls through the day and night. The club next door which has the most repetitive dance music blaring through the day - not the 90's sort of dance music which even though repetitive you can grow to enjoy, just drawny rubbish (perhaps that's what all the cool kids listen to these days!?) - the club next door was right outside our room so perhaps worse for us and defo not conducive to a good siesta. The drinks at the bar are very limited in option and amount served - there was little waste which was good as I have seen lots of waste at other hotels. Does not cater for vegetarians - we were told to "pick the ham out" of the sandwich provided on arrival which was late in the evening due to a delayed take off - not the staffs fault in that moment but something they could improve on as we had paid for that meal in our package. You pay by day for air con, safe use and WiFi. Cleaners can leave doors unlocked - ok if you've hired the safe. Far enough away from the strip to be peaceful at night if not for the disturbance from young people they accept as customers - they have come intending to go clubbing and have a good time I understand, but this is at the expense of everyone else's enjoyment and desire for a peaceful holiday. The pool appears on the small side for the hotel but lots used the sea so it never looked over-capacity - we didn't use the pool though. Everyone at the pool appeared to be in good spirits and respectful when we passed by, enjoying the entertainment such as water aerobics - even the young lads who seem to emerge in the afternoon having somewhat sobered up.

Bottom line - if they screened the bookings and didn't accept this demographic (unless there with older adults) they would likely have a great family hotel without loosing any bookings. To mix the two demographics seems a little strange given all the negative reviews about slamming doors and screaming etc. N through the night - or they could go by completely 18-30 and be honest about what to expect!

Same Wi-Fi password for everyone, don't pay the 15 euros for it.
