- Kalamaki Beach Hotel Zakynthos

Located 150 metres from Kalamaki Beach, in a green-covered area of 2, 500 m², this 3-star hotel offers a swimming pool, 2 bars and a seaside tavern. Its rooms have a balcony with views over the sea or the garden.
Rooms at Kalamaki Beach Hotel are bright and air conditioned. They come with a TV, mini fridge and a safety box. Each room also has its own bathroom equipped with free toiletries.
At the on-site tavern guests can taste local and international cuisine with views over Laganas Bay. Drinks, coffees and cocktails are served at the bar in the garden, while there is also a poolside snack bar.
The centre of Kalamaki village is 1 km away from the hotel. Zakynthos Town can be reached within 5 km and Zakynthos Airport at just 2 km. Free parking is available nearby.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Everything we expected. Whilst our kids were young we always went for the easy / safe option of luxury hotels (Ikos, Sani etc) but now they are older we really wanted somewhere where we could just use it as a base and explore / eat out of the hotel and this hotel was perfect for that. The staff are your typical smiley, friendly Greeks. The interconnecting room we had was absolutely fine. It overlooked the carpark and wasn't 'perfect', but for what we paid it was more than adequate - we were hardly in it! The air con was great and the beds were comfy, so big tick for my 6ft 6 husband with a dodgy back. The kids (12, 12 and 14) all have their own proper bed (no sofa beds here), which made it even better. The sinks are in the room rather than the bathroom and there is no mirror in the bathroom, but really we only had tiny niggles. The breakfast was pretty basic compared to the premium hotels, but we didn't mind that, again, I feel like for what we paid (booked direct with the hotel) then it was more than adequate. The pool area was very hot so the days that we spent in Kalamaki, we paid EUR 35 for 5 beds and 2 umbrellas at the beach front. The separate Kalamaki Beach Taverna (not part of the hotel) was great for food and super handy. We had a brilliant stay and would 100% go back. We were perfectly placed for easy, lazy days right on the beach or to jump in the car and go to all the main tourist spots - which we did. Planes do come over fairly regularly, but not immediately overhead - didn't bother us at all. But something to bear in mind for those looking for tranquility! We drove 10 mins to Laganas for 9am and went out on padel boards in Kalamaki Bay and saw a few turtles. This hotel ticks a lot for boxes for a family.
Second visit to this immaculate hotel.
5 minutes from the airport taxi 15 euro reception staff beyond helpful kind and accommodating Rooms are spotless spacious with balcony clean sheets and towels everyday toiletries and complementary slippers Breakfast lovely selection and tastes wonderful again helpful staff pool area immaculate beach front with beach restaurant plenty of beds central to attractions 10 min walk to bars and restaurant beautiful sea by far the loveliest island around and THE BEST HOTEL IN KALAMAKI !!!!
We stayed there for a week in room 203 overlooking the garden, with a sea view in the distance. The room was equipped with a safe, fridge, air con, and a kettle. They were provided free of charge, but they seem to be chargeable later in the season. No tea, coffee, or milk. Got a bit chilly in the evening after a shower, but couldn't get the air con unit to switch from cooling to heating. A bit of an odd setup in that the bathroom sink is in the bedroom/living area, not in the shower room/WC. Tap water is not for drinking, and toilet paper must not be flushed. A bin is provided for that, and it's emptied daily. The shower was good. Two travel sized shower gell/shampoo were provided. The buffet breakfast was the same each morning, and it could get a bit congested around the toaster. It's only a small area. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Pleasant 10 min walk to the strip with all souvenir shops, small supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Most restaurants served the same menu content, and the portions were huge everywhere. The pool bar was good, and the pool was freezing for the first few days. Started to feel better towards the end of our holiday as it's getting closer to peak season. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool - nice to see nobody reserving.
Average at best . Currently here with my family (2 Rooms & have been looking to move to another hotel) without success. I’am disappointed for my family as I had told them so much how we love holidays in Kalamaki. We have stayed previously at Cavo Suites , & Exotica but these weren’t available at the time of booking.Unfortunately this was! Rooms are extremely basic with old worn out wooden furniture. The walls are painted brown/taupe with pale yellow bedding. It resembles a room which depresses you the minute you enter & the sense of feeling sick. There are no pictures on the walls & or anything to make the room look nice. The floor is worn & needs replacing & the 14” TV looks pathetic in ratio to the room. Kettle & cups but no complimentary tea or coffee. Our view is also looking out at the rear of the hotel & at an electrical structure. Modernisation has moved on in recent times but unfortunately this place is stuck in the 1980’s. Other reviews show differently than I’am experiencing (as my photos) show, but this is our experience & not a favourable one. 5/10 at best.
Ten minutes from airport, two minutes to the beach. Friendly staff, lovely hotel, spotlessly clean. Nice pool, good breakfast and pleasant ten minute stroll to the town centre. Bathroom was small/tiny and shower temperature unpredictable - other than that faultless and highly recommended for the budget concious. We had a sea view room with balcony, a stones throw from the flight path. Excellent
