Golden Sun Resort is a new accomodation with twenty luxury rooms for adults only. Sixteen luxury rooms with private pool and four high floor rooms with private hot tub are available to make guest's stay unforgettable. The rooms can accommodate up to two adults. Rooms have Double bed, Mini bar with extra charge, Air Condition, hairdryer, iron, safe, satellite TV & 12 hours room service. Pool Bar Restaurant is open from early morning till night next to the Swimming Pool and the hot tub is also another place to relax. The Main restaurant is the place where everyone can enjoy Breakfast and Dinner with many choices from the ala carte menu. The Spa with an Indoor heated pool, Hammam and the Beauty treatments is the perfect place to feel refreshed. Golden Sun Resort & Spa has only 150m distance from the sandy beach,400m for Kalamaki center, 3km from the airport & 5km from Zante town

Adults only Golden Sun Resort & Spa stay
We booked to stay 14 nights at the Golden Sun Resort & Spa in 2025 based on the reviews for this hotel. It was showing as a 5⭐️ adults only resort with the option to have a room with either a private pool or whirlpool. We decided to splash the cash and opt for a private pool. Paying a fair few thousands for this and we’re happy to, based upon the fantastic reviews of the Golden Sun Resort & Spa.
Earlier this year we noticed the reviews were no longer viewable for Golden Sun Resort & Spa so we contacted Jet2 to see if they could explain as the reviews that were being left were for a 3⭐️ All inclusive Golden Sun, where sadly the reviews were not as good. Jet2 were not helpful so I emailed the hotel direct who assured me the Adults Only section is away from the All Inclusive hotel.
We arrived on 12th July and you do have to go to reception to check-in at The Golden Sun but staff then walk you to the Golden Sun Resort & Spa hotel, which is a few minutes away and set in beautiful settings, tranquil atmosphere, its clean and tidy and very picturesque.
The room itself, in my opinion is in need of a little tidy up and TLC, the wallpaper is coming away from the walls, the shower cubicle is rusty on the edges of the shower tray, with some evidence of mould; which for the money you pay (just shy of £6k) I would expect to be pristine. Honestly, remove the wallpaper and give that wall a lick of paint and it will look better for it.
There is limited space for clothes but that’s because I pack way too much. Could do with a few more drawers but we managed.
The outdoor space is fantastic - the private pool is spacious with two comfy beds and we were fortunate to have the sun from around 11:00-19:00 hours daily. In the heat of the day it’s been a blessing to just slip into the pool to cool down. The rooms have fridges which is an added bonus.
The communal pool area is spotless, plenty of space and the pool is massive. No rush for sunbeds, which are very very comfortable and offer shade with fixed umbrellas.
The staff at Golden Sun Resort and Spa are fantastic. Polite and friendly - cannot fault them in the slightest.
Rooms are cleaned daily and you have clean bath and pool towels daily, dressing robes and water.
All staff work so hard here and need to be recognised for their hard work and professionalism ☺️☺️
Kalamaki strip is approx 10 minute walk with a massive variety of bars, restaurants and shops. So much choice and cost is really reasonable.
The planes do come in quite often and can be loud but you do get use to the noise and this stops at around 22:00 hours and starts again from 05:00 hours.
We still have 6 days left and are considering coming back next year, as a private pool is a game changer. We hope the hotel do improve the conditions of the rooms as they are tired and need a tiny bit of TLC 💕. All in all it’s a lovely small, private adult only hotel.

There’s 2 VERY different hotels under the same name here be VERY careful which one you book or you’ll be VERY disappointed. One is the Golden Sun Hotel (the cheap seats) and the other is the Golden Sun Resort and Spa (adults only and lovely). They’re all part of the same complex but the photos and promotional video of the 2 are mixed together so it’s not clear what you’re getting.
We were in the Golden Sun Hotel. The cheaper part 😞 . Here’s my review:
✅ staff are superb, first class 💛 😊 ✅rooms also superb, we were upgraded to a triple, newly refurbished, clean and had fresh towels daily ❌ food isn’t great. Theres a huge variety of choice and it’s edible but it’s just not that good . ❌ only one place to eat which is self service - fine for breakfast and lunch but by the time you get to dinner we just didn’t want to go anymore and ended up eating out 5 of the 7 nights. ❌ I’d imagined breakfast on the terrace with croissant and fresh juice - you can’t eat outside, there’s no terrace ❌ All drinks are served in plastic glasses unless it’s a drink you pay for- it’s just a bit sad. ❌ Food at the pool bar is very sorry for itself. ✅ you can get a sunbed at any time of day you don’t need to be the person who is up at 7 claiming your space though trust me most people do ✅ pool is perfectly fine ❌ music by the pool is horrendous and gets louder as the day goes on ✅ clientele nice enough and no roudy groups ✅ all inclusive beer is good ❌ all inclusive wine is a disgrace ✅ all inclusive cocktails are good if a little strong ❌ all inclusive soft drinks are just about acceptable but the coke is undrinkable ❌ kalamaki itself is a resort along a main road and it’s pretty dismal ✅ beach is lovely ☀️ hire a car when you’re in the resort it only cost 180 euro for 4 full days - we drove round the island. The left hand side is the prettiest. Lots of gems to see.

We had a truly fantastic stay at the Golden Sun Resort and could not have asked for a better holiday experience. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
Our private pool was wonderful and made our stay feel extra special and luxurious. The food was excellent, offering great variety and quality throughout our visit. The location is fantastic, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing and memorable holiday.
What really made our stay unforgettable, however, was the incredible staff. A very special thank you to Emilia, Laerbi, Kelly, Marianna, Stathis, and Koustantina, who all went above and beyond to make our anniversary and birthday celebrations so special. Their warmth, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel genuinely valued and helped create memories that will last a lifetime.
We would also like to recognize the domestic cleaning team, who were absolutely amazing. Their hard work, friendliness, and high standards ensured our accommodation was always spotless and comfortable.
I would highly recommend the Aromatherapy hour massage in the spa, highly professional and so relaxing
Thank you to everyone at Golden Sun Resort and Spa for such a wonderful stay. We leave with fantastic memories and would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday with exceptional service. We look forward to returning in the future! 🌞🏖️💙

Currently at the Spa side with a private pool. Stunning room and garden! Luxury accommodation and great amenities.
Breakfast excellent but a lot of egg dishes. Still 5 stars for quality etc.
Staff super friendly and welcoming. Already booked for next year. And, we think we have found our perfect return-to little haven after years of searching. Kalamaki and Laganas (on the doorstep) both have lots to offer for shopping, eating and drinking venues. Also, a plane spotters dream at the Airport bar.
All in all the only one improvement opportunity would be to clean the private pools during your stay and not just after you leave. The main pool area is superb. Big squishy sun loungers, a great pool bar and a 2 minute walk to the beach.
Every bar, restaurant and shop had super friendly staff. Amazing.
Trust me this hotel has exceeded all expectations. We will be back again and again 🇬🇷☀️🌞🐢😍🥰🩷

Lovely stay for family at Golden Sun Hotel, Kalamaki in May 2026
Hotel is set in lovely grounds and approx 5 mins walk from the lovely sandy beach. Multiple options for sunbeds on the beach and we swam with turtles and went out on pedalows. Hotel is a 15 mins walk from Kalamaki strip, with a couple of bars on the way. There is also a small mini mart on site open during the day. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom suites, to give our 14 year old some more privacy. Hotel room was modern, spacious and had all the facilities you would need or expect. Only criticisms we had was the main room door wasn’t very sound proof and we could hear the lift dinging at night and from early doors, plus everyone walking past the room. The main bedroom didn’t have a door, just the smaller bedroom where our son slept - not likely to change but something to be aware of. Not a lot of wardrobe space but manageable with extra hangers available on request. The room had a lovely little balcony area overlooking the well looked after gardens. The pool area was well maintained and the pool was very clean. The pool bar was always staffed and they couldn’t do enough for you - such friendly staff. The restaurant was clean and had loads of variety of foods, which changed daily. Food quality was very high and again the staff couldn’t do enough for you. One thing to note is the restaurant closes on time, with lights off according to their schedule. The bar area was always clean and welcoming with the staff always friendly. There were self serve pumps for soft drinks and a hatch for requesting alcoholic drinks. There was entertainment some nights - a singer but other than that could do with some music playing for some atmosphere. There were some big TVs in the inside bar area playing sports. The staff were the highlight and truly an asset to this hotel. The manager Stathis was so welcoming, supported the entire wedding party staying at the hotel, including ordering us a pizza for our son after we arrived after the restaurant had closed for the evening. Stathis even supported us when our flight home was cancelled and found us a room for the evening - he saved us a huge headache and got us back enjoying time with our family within minutes of arriving back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here (May 2026) and would definitely return.
