The hotel is situated at the foot of the mountain where ancient Thira is also found. One of the best known beaches of Santorini, Kamari, is within walking distance of the hotel.
The hotel is a brand new complex, built in the shape of an amphitheatre and according to the Cycladic architecture, it stands in complete harmony with the Aegean seascape. The discreet luxury, the unique decoration, along with the modern comforts guarantee a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Facilities includes a breakfast room, Internet access (fees apply), a car park and a playground for younger guests.
All of the rooms are equipped with an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer, an LCD TV, a fridge, a telephone, air conditioning, satellite TV and a radio player. Three of the rooms also have interior and exterior hot tubs.
Leisure facilities include an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a poolside snack bar and a gym.

Amazing traditional Greek hotel
We had the best stay at this hotel. After arriving they couldn’t find our booking but made is feel really welcome and sorted this out so we were given a room with an amazing view. The whole place was a traditional friendly hotel with a lovely pool and so many sunbeds and a pool bar. You didn’t have to get up really early to reserve one, so everything felt chilled. Ahmed at the pool bar was amazing. He was really friendly and made some lovely toasties and fries for us all week and not to mention the cocktails too. He was always happy and couldn’t do enough for us. We felt completely at peace there with all the staff and nothing felt too much. We even learnt some Greek. Maria the owner was on hand if you needed anything and was really lovely too. Nothing felt too much. We had a lovely cooked breakfast most mornings and could come and go as we pleased. I would definitely stay here again if we visit Santorini again and would definitely reconsider anyone that wants a beautiful place to stay.
bad experience
If they give out stars for cold as titanic water showers then this place deserves it. We confronted the stuff which later confronted the owners about our cold water problem but they didn’t seem to care and for 4 out of 7 days we had to take showers in really cold water. The breakfast is okey but the time is so limited( between 8:00-10:00) which is bad when you leave in the morning. The stuff like the guy from bar and the night time receptionist were really helpful and kind. The Lady who is the owner of this place is the worst person to be in charge. She is so unpleasant to her guests and is screaming at them for the things that she should definitely not. The cleanliness of this hotel is something that they should definitely work on. You could find hair in your bathroom and the pipes smelled and looked like garbage, also the towels that were supposed to be cleaned were so old that they had stains which could not be washed anymore. The pool itself is very nice but if you look on the floor you can see many things like paper towels, old band-aids and who knows what else. This hotel has so much potential to be an amazing vacation accommodation but at this time is nowhere close to being pleasant.

We visited the island for 5 days and stayed in one of the jacuzzi rooms.
First of all some positives... The pool is lovely with a chill vibe and the sunbeds were very comfy. The staff that we had encounters with where all fairly pleasant, the chap on the front desk was particularly friendly. The hotel has a games room, small gym and lots of books to choose from. It was quiet at night allowing for a good sleep.
The areas for improvement. Our room was incredibly outdated and worn, there where marks on the walls, mirrors and around all the fittings. It felt like it needed a complete gut and clean. The bathroom flooded after every shower with water coming from underneath the bath (which had visible silicone all round it so it appeared repair attempts have been made previously), water also came up from the drain in the bathroom leaving a terrible smell. The shower would fall off repeatedly and wasn't big enough for us actually to stand under. The window in the bathroom also opened into a hall way which was very bizarre. The towels were like sandpaper and the air conditioning kicked out an awful damp smell for the first 10-15 minutes after it came on.
The jacuzzi was incredibly overlooked and we only used it once, it was also surrounded by hundreds of ants every time we went outside.
We appreciate that the hotel had lots of diverse guests and whilst there was a fair offering of breakfast, we found the selection of rice, pasta and onion bhajis quite unusual and not for us, so we only ate there the once. They also did have some meats, pastries, toast.
The stairs around the hotel are all marble, one morning after it had been raining on the first step down my husband fell quite badly the whole way down causing incredibly bad bruising. I really feel some signs or someone brushing the water off is needed.
The walk up to the hotel is not easy and not for anyone with mobility issues.
Kamari itself is absolutely stunning with so many excellent resteraunt, shops and bars. We particularly liked Prince for breakfast and mango for some drinks.
We went on a catamaran one day and it was the best day. We pre booked this before we arrived and it worked out about €100 cheaper.
I appreciate we could have spoke to the hotel about some of our concerns and I can see they comment and reply to people's posts but we felt that we were there for such a short time they couldn't have fixed the issues that we were finding.

Fantastic views, terrible hill to walk up in the heat!
The views from the hotel are amazing! Definitely the highlight of my stay there! The downside was the awful hill! I am not unfit, perse! I do a lot of walking as I don't drive, but in the heat, it really was a struggle, I had to stop and rest several times. It is a beautiful looking hotel, but really needs a bit of TLC. My first room, T.V never worked, even after reporting, never got fixed, so 2 days later they gave me a different room. Sadly, this one had a leak under the toilet, it came up every time you flushed. I had to use my towels to stem the flow, or risk slipping over on the wet floor. This again was mentioned several times, but it never got fixed! When I told the manager (Maria) She said she knew as the previous guest had reported it???? Then she said, she just forgot!!! The Jacuzzi wasn't working. the hinges that prevent the door shutters banging were broken, so that was really annoying when trying to sleep! I think a classification of 4 Star, is a tad generous. Breakfast was ok, typical Greek, always plentiful and frequently topped up. I wouldn't stay again, because of the hill alone!

Amazing stay!
We recently had the most amazing time at Epavlis Hotel Kamari, and I can't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived until the day we reluctantly checked out, everything was perfect. Service & Staff: The staff deserves the highest praise. They were genuinely warm, incredibly welcoming, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Whether it was giving local dining tips or helping with transportation, their service was top-notch and always delivered with a smile. Our room was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. The peaceful atmosphere of the hotel ensured we had a restful sleep every night. If you can, book a room with a view—waking up to the scenery outside was truly a highlight! Location & Atmosphere: The hotel location strikes a perfect balance—it's serene and relaxing, yet close enough to all the local attractions and restaurants. The grounds themselves are lovely and contribute to a very tranquil holiday atmosphere. We are already planning our return trip. If you are looking for a place that offers exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, and a truly amazing overall experience, look no further than Epavlis Hotel Kamari!!!!. Five stars across the board!
