Anavadia Hotel is located in the Resort area of Kolymbia, 25Km from Rhodes Town and 20 Km from the airport of Rhodes Island, Diagoras. The hotel is in the most relaxing area of Kolymbia, ideal for individuals who like to spend lazy days in the pool and relax under the breathtaking view of St. Tsampika Mountain. The peacefull environment in combination to the Hotel style gives to the guest a relaxing experience. Α regular shuttle service transfer guests to the beach. The hotel is a complex of 3 building areas, the main, the relax area and the facilities - lobby area. At the facilities area exists the Reception, the mini market, the restaurant for the all inclusive meals and the main BAR. At the main building there are double rooms, family room (open space) and superior family rooms. At the relax area there are also some of the double rooms, triple rooms and family rooms.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Myself and my better half stayed here for 10 days in the summer. I understand the hotel has recently changed management about a year ago so i believe they are still getting to grips with correcting some of the facilities, for example we had to go to reception for lack of hot water the first time we used the shower. This was no issue for the staff here to correct, it was dealt with instantly. If you are somebody who will throw a fit over this and cant just go ask for help, maybe this isnt for you. This is the only negative comment i will make about this hotel and it is a miniscule issue. The staff would turn a 2* trip into a 5* trip anywhere. They have looked after me and my better half here so well, i feel like i have been treated like family. I cannot fault the service with a smile here. From the moment you arrive the receptionists are so warm and friendly, which is lovely after after all the stress of travel. If i have any questions about anything they will do whatever they can to assist, even one morning i was desperate for a cigarette and the shop was shut, the lovely young lady on reception gave me some of hers which she didnt have to do. She helped us plan trips and rent a car, but more than that she was always joking and laughing with us. The gentleman who takes over from her is exactly the same, so friendly and willing to sort any issues that you may have immediately. The bar staff, which there are only two of, one in the evening and one in the day, will still provide a great service even though a lot of people who go to get drinks are rude and ignorant. They have to pour drinks, wash glasses, and go collect the rubbish and clean the areas all by themselves and you still do not have to wait a long time for a drink. After leaving here i would call them my friends they go the extra mile to see you walk back from the bar with a smile. Tom and Angelo are fantastic and very hard workers. The restaurant manager George went so far as to arrange champagne and a cake for me when he found out it was my birthday, and spoke to my girlfriend to ask if i prefer it sent to the room or if i want to do it at the bar so if i was embarrassed easily i wouldnt have to do it in front of everyone. There is a choice of pools so you dont have any issue cooling down as the weather is incredible here. The food is sometimes what you would expect from an all inclusive buffet, which i usually dread. I will say there have been times where i have eaten dishes i would say are better than restaurant food at home. You wont always like everything but there is plenty of choice and i have never struggled to have a meal. Credit to all staff here, the cleaners, the chefs and the point of contact staff. They all do absolutely everything possible to make your trip a lovely trip. I would definitely recommend it to a friend, i will remember these people forever and i hope to return to spend time with them again. I feel like they have taken me on as family.
Myself and my partner stayed here for 5 days in July 2026. Initially our impression of this hotel was a positive one, with food being kept for us as we arrived close to midnight.
After our food we were then directed to our room. At first we were baffled by the lengthy instructions to get to our room. We then realised that we had been given a room at the other end of the property, quite far away from the main building and pool facilities. Once in our room we realised immediately that it was quite dated, this coupled with being very far away began a list of problems with the room. The Wi-Fi did not reach our room at all which meant we relied on our patchy mobile data connection for most of the duration of the stay. Additionally we then realised a whole host of issues with our bathroom. The shower did not drain properly at first and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. The shower itself was not mounted to the wall correctly and shook quite a bit when touched. The shower when on sprayed out of the shower tray which meant that the entire bathroom was flooded each time we took a shower. These showers were also freezing and we had no hot water for our showers the entire time we stayed. The toilet flush was basically falling out of the toilet and we had to be extremely careful when using this. Outside on the balcony the balcony glass was disgusting and looked like it had never been cleaned. It was never cleaned throughout the duration of our stay. It was such an eye sore. The bedroom is in need of a major upgrade, we booked through love holidays and the images that they use verses the room we had are nothing alike. While the pool and sunbeds where nice, they could use a facelift. The guttering around the pool is different shades of white from where temporary fixes and replacements have been made. The showers and toilets at the pool are horrendous. In the women’s one of the toilets does not work and the other is in complete darkness even with all lights turned on. There is no privacy for the shower area at all. In the men’s bathroom there was no doors on the toilet cubicals and the shower stall. There was no light in the shower and the bathroom seemed to flood regularly. The lack of light in toilets seems to be common theme with a similar issue appearing in the toilets just off of reception. Our bathroom door also fell victim to what seems to be a quick fix repair which seems to be another theme throughout the hotel. The staff are lovely here and evidentially are doing the best with what they can. The food was nice but options limited. The bar at the pool was operated by one man our whole stay who was lovely. However if he left for any reason there was nobody else that could man the bar, this meant that at times there was no way to get a drink of water much less anything else which was less than ideal in 35 degree heat. All in all we where so disappointed in our stay and would advise to book elsewhere.
me and my fiance went here as a last minute holiday, still nearly paid £3000 even as last minute, it’s meant to be all inclusive but you don’t get anything in your room apart from 2 warm bottles of water not left in the fridge, they don’t restock that water when the room is cleaned, the beds are like cardboard very firm and don’t even in the slightest dip in when sat on, we had someone else’s bar of soap and razor head left under our sink in cubard, other couples we met all said they didn’t have a shower head holder and had to hold the shower themselves, the food was on another level 80/90% of people ate fruit and salad because the main hot food tasted like it had been sat there for either hours or even cooked the night before, they had very very very little for kids to eat and a lot kids who were there also ate fruit a lot, the area where the hotel was was like a slump was about 25 minute walk if you wanted somewhere decent, the hotel shop is run by someone else who apparently hasn’t turned up for the last 3 weeks and still never while we stayed, the pool with the bar was very rarely cleaned or checked levels and at one point looked green and had algi around the edges getting worse it was an awful awful colour, the drains around the pool were all cracked and my foot fell through one at one point because of how wore they are, the pool outside toilets were a state, the lights didn’t work they had no flush button and doors didnt lock, overall it wasn’t a very nice stay and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone
only nice thing to look at was the mountains from our room
Anavadia hotel is great for location and value and everything else. I stayed for 3 weeks to recover after major surgery and it was the best choice I made choosing Anavadia hotel. We received super friendly experience with Everyone from management to all staff… maybe some maintenance upgrades and TV in the bar would be nice. In all, I would recommend Anavadia hotel and I will book again. ( by the way, I am still in the hotel until early July!!! Everyone in Anavadia hotel needs a praise!!! Thank you to all.
not great…. location isn’t great, there is a couple small shops nearby but aside from that, everything else like the beach and town are at least a 20 minute walk! The hotel itself was quite poor :( Firstly the wifi did not reach our room, the only place it worked was in the main lobby and there was as also hardly any signal so we had poor data connection. The shower in our room didn’t work, fortunately the bath had a small shower head attached so we had to sit in the bath and hold the shower head over us. Bare in mind the bath didn’t have a plug so we couldn’t have a standard bath either. As well as this, the hairdryer provided in our room actually caught fire! We had no fire alarm in our room which we found quite concerning. As well as this, we left a bit of money on our bed whilst we had left the room for an hour or so, when we came back our room had been cleaned and the money was gone :( we made sure to check everywhere before we mentioned it to staff, after we mentioned it they continuously said that they would give it back to us but they never did, they actually waited until we checked out before they rang and said they have the money to give back to us! we also had a charger that went missing (obviously not a big deal but still frustrating)
The buffet is absolutely tiny, it is the smallest buffet i’ve ever seen at a hotel. The food was alright but there is hardly any options for kids/fussy eaters so just keep that in mind Xx
There was a specific member of staff who worked the 3pm-11pm shift, unfortunately we can’t remember his name but he was lovely and tried to help us as much as he could.
aside from all this, the pools were nice, the rooms are nice and spacious and everyone seemed friendly.
we’re not normally the type to leave reviews but just thought this was all worth mentioning :( Xx
