So the hotel is in a good location, near the airport and near Rhodes Old Town. The hotel has some nice public areas that are well maintained. The room we were allocated via Easyjet holidays was definitely not 5 star as advertised, it was a room that had not been refurbished like others, the whole room needed renovating, the floors were old, dirty and mismatched, the furniture very old and the bathroom in need of a walk in shower and an update. The hotel gave a family member who had booked through the hotel rather than Easyjet an updated room with a walk in shower and new fixtures and flooring. They also received a complimentary crazy golf ticket. A 5 star hotel should provide water but instead we were charged for it because we were not all inclusive. The restaurant staff allocated people tables very close together, far away from the food, and next to broken blinds so you couldn't see out. Tying to get a drink as a half board customer was difficult and nearly always we have eaten half out meal before receiving a drink and good luck getting a second one. The staff did not make us feel like we were staying in a 5 star hotel more like a 3 star, very disappointing. The receptionist was rude when I asked her to speak up because I couldn't hear her and refused to speak louder. Frankly the stay was disapointing and I won't be returning.
I have stayed in Rhodes twice before, at different hotels, and cannot recommend the previous two hotels more! If you want a cheap(er) Rhodes holiday at a 5* hotel with all the charm and presentation of a budget hotel then this one is for you!
Such a pity as it was my only holiday of the year and I left feeling as though I had wasted a lot of money. If you want great hotels then stay at the Amus Hotel (right next door) or the Atrium Platinum Hotel which is just up the road.
We had a nice stay and would happily rate it 4/5 stars.
The hotel itself is modern, clean and in a good location. The rooftop bar was definitely one of our favourite spots. It’s a great place to enjoy a drink while watching the sunset.
The buffet restaurant was a let down. There was a reasonable selection, but we felt the quality could have been better. We ate at the Greek grill during the day, and the food was lovely. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, with drinks often arriving after we had finished eating. We ate at the Italian à la carte and it was nice.
We didn’t use the kids’ club but it looked to be enjoyed. The pool area was enjoyable and my kids especially liked joining in with the aerobics sessions. The only thing we felt was missing was a bit more entertainment in the pool, such as floating mats or obstacle style activities for children. The temperature of the pools were perfect. The baby pool is a tiny blocked off area near to the bar which does get busy. The other pools from memory are around 90cm. Fresh towels were available daily.
The mini disco was dissapointing. Holding it at the tennis courts isn’t ideal. We only went once because there was no bar with very limited seating (just a few plastic chairs). We think it would create a much better atmosphere if it was held at the rooftop bar instead.
We tried to hold onto our room with a late checkout for 90 euros which we couldn’t. We were glad we didn’t as it was actually fine using the pool area showers to get ready before our flight as they were nice. Also use the supermarkets down the hill as there much cheaper than the shop in the hotel.
Would we visit again… probably not.
If you stay visit el Greco along the road for some traditional plate smashing and lovely food and cocktails at villa di mar for the most stunning cocktails and sunset.
My stay at the Olympic palace was amazing, the entertainment crew were extremely friendly and provided so many different activities during the day in the pool and outisde the pool. The hotel is extremely clean and modern and features loads of inside bars and one inside the pool, the room is very spacious and clean. Amazing place to stay if you want a peaceful space due to seating in various areas around the hotel. The drinks variety is very good and the different themed dinners are incredible. Sun bed wars are basically zero to none. The greek restaurant is incredible during the day and has a great variety of options to eat. The bar staff are extremely friendly across all the 3 bars in the building and the one in the pool, they are all friendly and very welcoming. I stayed for 10 days and had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this. Big recognition to the German entertainment guy he was absolutely brilliant and funny good for younger people.
I enjoyed the hotel but this review is mainly about the spa , it was fantastic , the best I have ever had . I had two treatments , back massage and hot stone massage by dimimitrive, it was amazing , fell asleep 😂, best ever thank u . The facilities at the spa were amazing !!
