Akti Imperial Deluxe Resort and Spa Dolce by Wyndham

Just left after 10 days at the Akti. I think in summary I’ve seen a lot of people saying it’s not a 5 star hotel, but they need to understand what Greek 5 star is. This is 5 star because of a variety of facilities & food options etc, but there is no luxury aspect to it in anyway, so if you want proper 5 star this isn’t the choice for you.

Overall, if you paid a fairly low price like I did it’s good value. The pool & outdoor area is nice, views from the restaurant & terrace are lovely, could always get a sunbed easily.

Food I thought was fairly nice, but does lack variety. For 7 days would be fine, 10 days it’s a bit repetitive. Al la cartes are basically just the backs of the pool bars so don’t feel particularly nice but at least it is table service. Some random courses in the set menu though.

Enjoyed being able to pour my own beer, although half pint cups would be nice.

The best part of the hotel is the entertainment team. They do deserve a lot of credit because the actual entertainment is of low quality, but they make it good by being so good at involving everyone and being pretty funny with good energy. Some of the actual shows though are like a GCSE drama dance performance, although did make me laugh.

This hotel could easily get a lot better with some changes: Firstly, it is dated especially the furniture. Replace the horrendous sunbeds with nice new ones and straight away the place would look and feel so much better. Same with the pool bar tables & chairs. The entertainment area is just the side of the pool, would be nice if it had a separate area with a nicer bar. They desperately need more toilets by the pool & add some urinals. 2 cubicles for each is just not enough and messy. The cleaning of the hotel is very average. We didn’t have specific issues but if you went looking you wouldn’t find it hard to find some. The pool not opening until 10ish also seems late and their way of getting towels is very odd. You have to join a slow queue at 10 where they tick your room number off one by one and give you the number of towels. Just do pool cards would be so much quicker. Spa is nice, enjoyed my treatment there. Having to book the sauna & steam room is a bit odd.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay it was nice and good value for what we payed. We didn’t get ill which helps & wouldn’t have known about it if we hadn’t seen online before. I wouldn’t come back either however, you can get a lot better

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. Great location, near the beach not far from old town. Room could do with an update, we stayed in the annex. Cleanliness of the room was ok, could be better, towels definitely need to be replaced, very worn out. Staff were all lovely and friendly, even near the end of season they still were helpful, upbeat and lovely. Entertainment team are what made it for me, they were so funny always chatting to guests around the pool, getting everyone involved. They created a great atmosphere. Food was ok, did go out for dinner once for a change. Children could help themselves to ice cream at the pool bar, plenty to choose from. Although wouldn’t rate the beer or wine, got our own from the shop. Hotel shop was very expensive, €4.50 for Pringles, the shops near the beach a lot cheaper so would recommend going to those for snacks. Has an amazing massage in the spa, definitely recommend. Overall I enjoyed my stay, was abit wary from other reviews. A holiday is what you make it!

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time, the hotel is lovely and has lots to offer. Staff were all friendly and very helpful and the entertainment team were fab! - something different every night and lots of games during the day (in and out of the pool) Anis from the entertainment team chatted to us everyday and encouraged us to join in the with dancing and activities - thank you to everyone!
