Gennadi Grand Resort

I’ve now stayed at Gennadi Grand on three occasions - it is a truly excellent hotel. Each of the A La Carte restaurants offer something different, but all equally fantastic. The buffet is great also, I noticed this most recent trip there’s a strong offering on vegan/vegetarian options. If you’re All Inclusive, Lunches are à la carte, with 4 different places to eat at lunch. Drinks are great, strong choice of cocktails, a Greek beer on tap, and some other nice choices - like the Strawberry cider, an excellent tipple.

The staff in all departments provide a consistently excellent service and are so friendly, our 1 year old absolutely adored her little interactions with the staff. Housekeeping are the best I’ve experienced.

The rooms are spacious and modern. It’s probably fair to say depending on what block you’re in will effect how much sun you’ll get if you’ve got a private pool room, but from the blocks I’ve stayed in, they all get a healthy amount of sun, and in some cases, more or less all day. In the rooms I’ve stayed in, they’ve all been quiet, noise has never been an issue.

The more I’ve stayed at the hotel, the more it’s given the opportunity to explore the surrounding area. You could be forgiven for believing there’s not too much going on outside of the hotel, but scratch beneath the surface and you’ll find the charming village of Gennadi has a lot to offer, a plethora of lovely restaurants and bars, more than you could get through in one trip! If you have a car, it’s also well positioned to explore a few places with not too much travelling time, of course Lindos, Prasonisi, Kiotari to name a few.

Another observation multiple visits has provided, the hotel do make tweaks and improvements, each time we’ve visited something has changed which has positively impacted - and that is refreshing and nice to see. Noted on this visit, they’ve added a bar to the pool at the back of the hotel on the road side, we’ve stayed in this block previously and this is a great addition!

In terms of value? you absolutely get it.

I have nothing but praise for the hotel and facilities. Indeed we are not halfway through the holiday and yesterday, my birthday could hardly leave the room due to storms. Didn't care.

1. On arrival you are treated as individuals not just another tourist. Taken to massive lobby area, provided hot face flannels, snack and refreshing drinks while all the details are dealt with while you sit and relax.
2. The entire hotel, gardens, numerous pools rooms, kitchen are spotless, you shave looking into the floors.
3. Room 4046 is spacious with delightful private pool and fresh fruit, water and wine on arrival along with a great coffee machine.
4. Room staff keep it spotless and are such friendly and helpful.
5. The hotel app is so useful not just for weather but government storm warnings, booking food on the beach. Each parasol has a unique QR code for ordering food and drinks brought to you.
6. We have travelled to around 35 countries and this is perhaps the best food we have had, and we have only so far tried the buffet. Music playing and breakfast and evening meal, normally life and enough options to satisfy just about anyone including specific vegetarian / vegan area. I never knew you could have eggs about 10 different ways and last night counted 22 deserts, 11 different fruits, ice creams and endless cheese. We are just worried about our weight allowance as we put on weight!
7. All the staff cannot do enought to help, endless smiles and helpfulness wherever you go.
8. And today I went to the Kozeen Spa and after a chat with Alexandros had a massage. It was €85 for an hour but then you also get to use the spa, hot rooms, Hamaan and indoor pool.
9. And yesterday, my birthday we came back to our room to be welcomed by a ice bucket and bubbly and huge chocolate dessert and we had not told them it was my birthday.
