Faliraki

Located at Faliraki Resort, just 100 meters from the sandy beach, this property is an ideal place of rest and relaxation. The proximity of the beach is not the only appeal of this hotel's location. The Medieval town of Rhodes is only 12 km away and holidaymakers can also explore other local points of interest like the fishing harbour, the water park Kalithea Springs and Antony Quin Bay. The bright air-conditioned rooms, suites and apartments offer views of the garden, the nearby Psalidi Mountain or the hotel pool. Each unit features minibar, a coffee maker and free WiFi access. Guests can enjoy a refreshing drink at the poolside bar and start the day with a tasty buffet breakfast. For dinner, they can chose between the on-site restaurant and barbeque facilities or opt for a visit to one of the numerous taverns in the area.

A “good” boutique experience near Faliraki

Hi All! 👋 This was the 2nd part of our Rhodes holiday, where we booked a boutique hotel, staying for 4 nights only. Overall, we had a good experience, with many positives, but a few negatives too. Please see below for honest insights:

Positives:

  1. Facilities & Feel of Hotel- We had asked for a boutique hotel, and that was exactly what we got. Although there was over 100 guests staying (approx), the atmosphere still felt intimate but also very comfortable. The reception sets the scene of “tranquility”, and that flowed throughout the whole hotel. We had booked the “Junior Suite with Private Pool”, which I would definitely recommend as we, and many of the guests, was in their private suite rather than the main pool (please see attached pictures of the suite as it was amazing). The hotel was generally clean, well staffed, and had the usual amenities you would expect a 4 star boutique hotel to have.

  2. Staff- All of the staff deserve a lot of credit at this hotel! Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and considering it was hot at 35 degrees, they were always very hard working. A special shout out to the reception manager, who was extra kind, and always went out of his way to help us out, particularly with my partner being pregnant they done all they could to support her, which we are very thankful for!

  3. Location- This will be a mixed review from a lot of guests, as the hotel is not near the beach, and not close to the Faliraki strip OR a lot of restaurants. For us, this was ideal as we didn’t want the busy atmosphere, instead we mostly stayed in our suite, with our private pool. As a side note, we did venture out to a restaurant named “Oinos”, which had the best Greek mixed grill iv ever had so I would totally recommend! 😍 If you did wish for a busier atmosphere, you would need to walk at least 15+ minutes, so I would not recommend booking unless (like us) you wish to do nothing but relax within the hotel premises.

Negatives:

  1. Food Variety- This is a specific issue with the Half Board option. You have to have dinner at the 1 restaurant “La Terra”. During dinner, you get 5 courses BUT there is only 2 options for each course. We was very disappointed with this as the food was trying to be unique, so was not to the majority of people’s tastes. There is also strictly no changes allowed to the set menu, so if you did not like the choices you essentially could not eat anything. The menu does change each evening, but this caused us daily stress not knowing if we would eat at the restaurant on that evening or not (as we had already technical paid for it). What was extra annoying is that the same restaurant was open to the public, so a main menu was on offer, but not to hotel guests?.. As my partner was pregnant, she could not have 50% of the menu, so this was a real problem. This is the main reason for the 1 less star, deserving 4/5 overall.

  2. Construction on site- Strangely during the peak July summer time, there was a lot of building work ongoing to expand the premises. This did not affect us specifically as we could not hear it from our suite, but you could hear the construction work by the main pool and snack bar.

Overall, excluding the food.. this hotel suited our needs perfectly. If you are an open foodie, looking for a 4/5 night stay to only relax and not do a lot else, this is the one to book! 😁

Beautiful hotel but minor details let it down

The Good. This hotel boasts beautiful surroundings and well-maintained grounds that truly feel relaxing and upscale. The main pool area is lovely, with plenty of available and comfortable sun beds - a big plus. The breakfast is excellent, with a great variety and quality and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and modern, and the bed is very comfortable. There is a small shop next to the hotel which provides all the essentials you need and there is a lovely beach within a 5-min walk. Overall, the property looks exclusive and delivers on that first impression.

Please Consider. While the hotel markets itself as an exclusive adults-only resort, several practical details fall short of expectations, especially given the high price point. There is no air-conditioned bar or lounge area to relax in. You can sit inside the small restaurant for dinner, but it lacks air conditioning. On hot evenings, dining becomes quite uncomfortable. The half-board option is not à la carte as advertised on the website. Instead, it’s a set menu that changes nightly with only two appetiser and two main course choices (typically one fish and one meat). Despite the hotel stating they would provide alternative options to the limited half-board menu when booking (we were willing to transfer to B&B only), we were told on arrival that no other options were available and any deviations from the menu would incur extra charges. The menus are not published which created daily anxiety around dinner - we were even made to feel guilty for not trying dishes despite dietary needs or preferences. If you have dietary requirements or are a picky eater, I strongly recommend avoiding half board.

Other notable points. Pool towels cost €20 to rent. You must pay for coffee pods for the in-room machine, and there is no milk provided. The room (we stayed in 708) had no drawers or storage space - just 5 hangars in an open wardrobe, no Wi-Fi coverage on the day bed, and we had to request soap/shampoo refills. The toilet opens into the main room and has a glass door with gaps, offering zero privacy — you can see and hear everything, which may not suit sharing with friends or a new partner. There was no table service at the pool. Despite the adults-only policy, children (some toddlers) were present at breakfast.

Overall. The hotel looks and feels exclusive at first glance, but the little details disappoint and don’t match the premium pricing. It’s a nice property with strong positives in the pool, breakfast, and setting, but the small shortcomings and misleading advertising around half board and facilities make it less relaxing than expected. Choose carefully based on your needs.

Outstanding holiday with amazing food

My partner and I stayed with Kouros Exclusive Suites from 08.06.26 to 18.06.26, and it was outstanding from start to finish.

We booked the penthouse suite with outdoor jacuzzi, half board, 10 nights, with a transfer from the airport. Our outbound flight was delayed; however, I had consistent communication with Kouros via email before our arrival in which they were more than accommodating to still pick us up from the airport despite the delay. The hotel is around a 25-minute drive from the airport, which is very convenient.

We arrived at Kouros at around 9pm local time and had just missed the cut off for half-board dinner service which runs from 6pm-9pm. We instead got settled into our room 406. The room was massive, lots of storage space, very clean, and spacious. However, our room was overlooking a new development space as Kouros is currently expanding. This meant we were subject to construction noise in the morning. We spoke with reception to see if we could move to a different room - still penthouse suite with outdoor jacuzzi, and they were more than accommodating. Our new room 305 overlooked the breakfast space on the 3rd floor. Room 406 was a newly renovated room, which is a slightly more modern. Room 305 is one of the quote-on-quote 'older' designs, but it was still amazing - very spacious, lots of storage space, and had a beautiful private balcony with outdoor seating and loungers. The room was fully air-conditioned, with a fridge, standing shower room with a sink, bathroom with a sink, and sofa.

Our room was cleaned every day, and the cleaners are very attentive. The toilet, shower, and sink was cleaned every day, alongside the bedding made and fresh towels provided each day. The floors are also mopped every day which really goes the extra mile. We also had people come around most nights to offer fresh towels if we needed them. Our jacuzzi was also cleaned once every 4 days.

Kouros offer a beach towel service, whereby you pay a 20 euro deposit for 1 towel and can have your towels replaced every 2 days. This was great for us!

What made this holiday so special was the food. The food in itself gets 6 stars. Half board has breakfast and dinner included, excluding drinks and snacks. Breakfast served from 7:30am-10:30am is a huge buffet selection including fresh fruits, delis, yoghurts, nuts and granolas, fried eggs and sausages, scrambled eggs and other omelettes, breads and other savoury items, and a massive selection of sweets and cakes, each varying day by day. You could also select a variety of juices, teas, and coffees on demand. There are plenty of spaces to sit for breakfast in the shade and in the sun at any time during breakfast. We made sure to fill up on breakfast, as we would then only eat again at dinner time.

In the daytime, you can make use of the pool bar that served a selection of drinks, including alcoholic beverages, and food bits - but these are not included in the half board. Anything bought here was paid on request rather than adding to the room tab. We made particular use of the iced chocolate milks and iced coffees! An iced chocolate milk was priced at 5 euros, so very cheap and cheerful!

On half board, dinner each night has a specially curated menu with bread and dips, a gift from the chef, soup of the day, choice of 2 appetisers, choice of 2 mains, and a choice of 2 desserts. Absolutely spectacular. Pictures are meals from just one night! In addition to the half board set menus, you could request items from the a la carte menus, of which they have their standard menu and a sushi menu, but these will cost extra.

As we were half board, we didn't have drinks or snacks included in our stay. Instead, when we ordered drinks at dinner time, we added these to our room tab and paid it off at check out. The choice of drinks was amazing, with wines, spirits, beers, cocktails, mocktails, juices, etc., all well priced. Your average cocktail was priced around 10 euros. We amassed around 25 euros on drinks each night, and between 30 and 40 euros per day altogether including drinks in the daytime. The alcoholic drinks were great, not diluted, and used branded spirits. You could also request items not on the menu.

The staff at Kouros are incredible. Super attentive, friendly, and willing to cater to your every need. As Kouros is quite a small establishment, you really get to know the staff, which is a really nice experience.

As previously mentioned, Kouros is currently expanding. This meant there were works going on every day including weekends. This at times got quite noisy, but you could quite easily tune it out, but something to bear in mind as I would imagine with will continue for quite some time. However, I loved the music they played during the day. A mix of old school English music, traditional Greek music, and Greek poolside remix music. Very relaxing listening for reading and sunbathing! During breakfast, some days we were greeted by a live harp player, a live saxophone player, and a live guitar player! All of which were outstanding and really added to the expensive feel of the place. During the night, each night had its own entertainment: live DJ, live singers, harp player, etc., which was really entertaining. However, if you are a light sleeper who likes to go to bed early – by which I mean before midnight – this might be a slight problem for you as the music would last until around midnight each night. As our room was overlooking the dining areas, we could hear the music quite clearly. But this wasn’t an issue for us as we quite enjoyed listening to it!

In the daytime, you have optionality of lots and lots of different beds and seats in the shade and in the sun. We were quite spoiled for choice most days as it was relatively quiet. But even on the busiest days, you could still have optionality on where you wanted to sit. As our stay was in early June, the weather was great – around 30 degrees each day, with UV peaking at 9. Some days had a gorgeous breeze, so sunbathing was perfect. The staff would come around during the day with frozen flannels to keep cool, cooling aloe face sprays, and to take any drinks orders.

Kouros is situated just between 2 bus stops to get to Lindos or Rhodes old town very easily, if you are willing to wait forever for the bus to turn up! Alternatively, you could get a taxi to anywhere on the island very easily.

One thing to note is it is a good idea to take extra cash with you before you travel for tipping and any bus journeys. Alternatively, you can use the local ATM, but it will charge you a fee for using the ATM. If you do use the ATM, make sure to decline the conversion rate, as it will default to your banks standard conversion which is much cheaper than what they offer.

If you really want a special experience, I would highly recommend visiting Yiannis in the boutique spa. He offers several different massages, of which we got the full body pampering massage. This was a really magical experience. Yiannis is extremely thorough in his approach, combining soft and deep tissue techniques to really get out any knots in the muscle. We got this on our last day, and it really finished off our trip perfectly.

Overall, this was an outstanding trip, of which I was very sad to leave! I will 100% consider returning to Kouros, as it has been a trip to remember. Ultimately, I score the whole experience 4.75 stars out of 5.

The fantastic Kouros Hotel

We stayed at the Kouros 1/6/26-8/6/26 for the Boutique Soul Week. What a fantastic quirky hotel and extremely well run, all of the staff what ever role they did were brilliant the management should be very proud of the way their staff performed. Nothing was too much trouble. We went with a group of 10 and we all had different rooms all were great. The food from the pool bar was brilliant. The pool area has loads of sun beds, double sun beds and even bigger sun beds for groups. There are plenty of shaded areas as well if you want to get out of the sun for a while. We couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be back.
