Wonderful staff, beach location.
Had a really enjoyable holiday, enhanced by the fabulous staff in this hotel. Such a friendly, hard working group - from reception, all bar and restaurant staff, entertainment troupe, cleaners, to maintenance and luggage service. The location on the beach suited us, lots of available sunbeds, with shade, free pool towels, clean pools and a great pool bar restaurant. Ahameds pizzas were really popular. Entertainment on an evening was great- really enjoyed the different shows and dancing. The group worked really hard. The drinks were good - changed after the first day from sparkling wine on tap to bottles of Prosecco due to peoples choice- excellent improvement. The bar staff were so good, friendly and super efficient, especial mention to Mirella. The hotel was very clean, staff constantly clearing and tidying. The room was fine, comfortable beds, decent toiletries, good shower, free safe, fridge and balcony. As we arrived very late we were given free drink - usually 11.00pm is end time for all inclusive- and a snack, wrap, crisps, fruit and water. Nice touch. Problem with safe was rectified by Dimitris at 1.30 am - that IS service. The food was varied, breakfast was good, omelette to order, plenty of fruit. Evening I would have preferred more fish dishes, but there was always something else suitable. The bus to Kos town ran to time and was €4 - great value. Did the 3 island cruise on Christina from Kos town, was great value for money and saw dolphins galore. Would recommend. Would also return to Smy Kos beach hotel as great value for money.

Just got back from SMY Kos beach and splash. Don’t know what the fuss is all about. I was a bit worried when I was the only one who got of the coach. The room was okay and the bed was fine. Not really much to do at the hotel has the evening entertainment was not on because of the weather. The food is not very nice a bit of the same every day. It took 30 minutes some times to get in the restaurant and the selection of food is not good and not very warm. Staff seemed to be very nice. The beach for the hotel is okay but very messy. Couple of small shops about 1/2 mile away which were okay. Might be better in the summer but not in October. First time visiting Kos I think it would probably be my last. Some of the photos below show some of the food and the q for the restaurant.

The Smy Hotel is a very beautiful and elegant place. Everything is well organized, clean, and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. The rooms are nice, the facilities are good, and everything is generally well maintained. Overall, the Smy Hotel is a wonderful place to stay, and everything is in order.
Needs a bigger restaurant, better food and better entertainment programme
The hotel itself is nice, rooms are very clean and we had a junior suite which was big enough and comfortable enough. Unfortunately the restaurant is not big enough for the number of people, and the food selection is tiny and very limited. Queuing for 30 mins for breakfast and dinner and once in only 2 rows of food which is mostly cold. The entertainment is the worst I’ve seen in a 4 star, exactly the same mini disco routine every night and only stayed twice in one week for the entertainment that followed and it was the exactly the same both times! The staff were lovely, the beach just washed up seaweed so we walked down to the lovely namaste beach bar. We paid 8 euro for 2 sunbeds which came with 2 soft drinks and this was stunning, well worth it! And the lovely couple that ran it made a lovely Italian Aperol. It was a nice enough stay but they need a better entertainment programme with a bigger restaurant. Also, the main pool was crazy. Apparently kids can only go in it if parents also go in: my children are 12 and 10 and better swimmers than me! We got told off by a grumpy lifeguard and he also told my kids off. We sat at a table close by to watch them as of course there are no sunbeds and he was so rude to us! Apparently we need to be in the pool or standing right next to it the whole holiday - great! All of the above doesn’t make for a very relaxing holiday
A great stay for a half term get away
We have just left the hotel and had a lovely time , we are a family of 3 so the room was comfortable for us but for larger family’s they may struggle. The rooms were clean and well kept daily , the hotel was lovely and clean and we were made to feel very welcome. Wide variety of drinks and delicious food , the snack bar was our favourite and pizzas were made by hand in front of you , a token system was in place and this reduced excess drinks lying around. Entertainment was good but feel it was very late and for when you wanted a early night it was hard to sleep so we didn’t go to sleep till after 11pm most nights because our block was next to it , the children loved the splash park , and the large pool by the beach was great , I would recommend that more sun beds are on offer and a lot needed replacing , unlimited self serve ice cream was a great hit and a daily must where we would easily consume 4 pots for my little girl. Unfortunately the hotel is in the middle of nowhere where with only 2 shops walking distance and a bar , the hotel does offer a hirer car and excursions and ATM at top of road as you do require some cash. All in all , I would recommend to families , we had a lovely stay , the beach to the right of you was more open and clear and we enjoyed our walks , a bus stop is on main road and we travelled into Kos which was nice on a day where we didn’t have nice weather , A beautiful island and we would return Thanks for a great week
