Not a 4 star experience.

Firstly, I made a big mistake by thinking that this hotel is the sister hotel of the very good Aeolos Beach Resort in Corfu that I visited earlier in the year. Sad to say it was nothing like it.

The positives - we travelled with Easy Jet from LGW and everything went to plan. The transfers each way were on time and the communication was very good. This is my 3rd experience with Easy Jet and no complaints.

On arrival at the hotel the reception team were friendly and our bags were taken to the room whilst we were shown the dining room to get a late snack. On offer was potato soup, some processed ham and a bit of salad and cheese. This was to set the tone for the whole holiday. The presentation of the food in both restaurants was like school dinners/canteen. No imagination at all. The food was very repetitive and really bland and luke warm. This applied to every meal. I don't eat meat but I do eat fish. There was no grilled fish on offer at all. The fish that offered was a white fish cooked in a thick sauce that looked horrible. There was no al fresco eating in the main buffet restaurant and it's not somewhere you'd like to spend any time.

The beach restaurant had a very limited selection but at least you could seat kind of outside in a marquee.

The food was a big let down for the whole holiday.

Now let me tell you about the drink offerings. Coffee was very average and came out of 2 vacuum packs in a machine.

Wine - you could have anything you like as long as it was the one red or the one white on offer from the taps. No rose and no choice. Both tasted like juice. I didn't have any of the juices on offer but another couple told me they were fowl! I had a gin and tonic one night and threw it away. It tasted like soap. There was no Aperol Spritz and no digestifs for after dinner. Unlike the Aeolos Beach Resort in Corfu were there was everything, including premium brands for the same price for the holiday. I have been to quite a few AI 4/5 *** resorts and the food and drinks on offer were very very poor.

We stayed in the premuim bungalows and unless you have small children, I would definately recommend. They are around a lovely pool, no music and no young children!

The beach is probably 6 foot wide. very rocky and the sea was very rough most of the time as it was very windy. Not a beach I'd recommend for children.

The hotel is very isolated although there is a good bus from the hotel in to Kos Town which I'd recommend visiting. Because the hotel is so isolated the evening entertainment is important. The entertainment takes place at the main pool. This relies heavily on guest participation. Apart from one night when there was a VERY good duo playing and another night with some Greek dancers the only entertainment was 2 quiz nights and 2 karaoke nights in one week. Although Dana and Nil were lovely and really tried very hard, it seemd to me it was all done on the cheap.

So to summarise, the staff were all lovely, the hotel itself is very nice, set in spacious grounds, the pools are nice, the beach is very disappointing and the food and drinks on offer were 2 star at best. Would I go again? No

Not quite 4 star

Went as couple for 10 nights in a Premium Bungalow we paid extra for.

Positives - Room was nice, clean, spacious and overall a nice place to stay. Reserved sunbeds around allocated pool for premium bungalow guests was worth the extra money. No loud music and was peaceful with a good pool. Staff were friendly and happy to help if needed. Shuttle to and from Kos Town was useful.

Negatives - Food was a let down considering this was meant to be 4 star. Maximum of 15 hot options each meal, many of which were always the same (chips, oven potatoes, rice etc). Other options were changed however extremely basic, bland and poor quality (fish fingers were put out on Asian themed night). It got so tiresome that we ate out more than we had wanted to which meant shuttle to Kos Town was paid for and then the food. Drink options were also basic with limited options with ourselves and others we spoke to saying they bought drinks from the hotel shop due to the quality on all inclusive. Entertainment was okay but not great.

Overall the rooms and staff were good but the food and drink really let this down to a point where I would not return.

A Tranquil spot with amazing sunsets

Beautiful hotel suites, we stayed in an apartment with hot tub. It was very clean tidy and we stocked daily. The pool area was nice, not many sunbeds but plenty scatted by yhe sea and outside rooms too. All the staff were welcoming except one of the pool barmen who never smiled and looked like he would rather be elsewhere. The staff In the beach side restaurant were happy to see everyone. No.clocks anywhere or a temperature display, we like to know how hot it is. Hotel shop sells almost everything you'd need. Bus stop right outside & hotel provides a minibus every 30 mins to Kos town The food wasnt amazing but edible, plenty of salad. Not a great deal of fish options which wad a disappointment as we were on an island was hoping for more & Greek dips etc but was never hungry, snack bar served burger & chops daily or kebabs

Disappointing for a 4-Star - Believe the Bad Reviews

We’ve just returned from a holiday at the Aeolos Beach Hotel in Kos. While there were some positives, it felt like a basic 2-star experience at most, and we wouldn’t recommend it or return.

The Pros:

The Staff: The staff we encountered were lovely and hard-working.

Premium Bungalow Perks: Upgrading to a premium bungalow gives you two reserved sun loungers around the pool, and a staff member takes a morning drinks order (excluding spirits) for the premium pool area. There was a good choice of cocktails and drinks available.

Location: The hotel sits right on the seafront. The outdoor restaurant is a stone's throw from the waves, which made for a lovely setting.

Shuttle Bus: There is a shuttle bus into Kos Town, which is a great service, though it costs €4 per person (whereas other Jet2 holidays we've been on included this for free).

The Cons:

Cleanliness & Pests: The cleanliness was poor. Bins around the resort were left overflowing throughout the day. Worse, our first room had a giant cockroach and smelled terrible. After some arguing with management, we were moved. The second room was cockroach-free, but the drains still smelled bad, and the beds were so itchy I didn’t even want to look closely to find out why.

The Food: The food was basic and lacked variety, choice, and quality -definitely not 4-star standard. For example, "Italian night" just meant they added a lasagna to the usual canteen style buffet.

The Water Situation: It was almost impossible to get drinking water outside of evening meals; we found ourselves walking in circles between bars and restaurants trying to find it. They only provide one bottle in your room per day, which feels intentional given that the onsite shop sells bottled water.

Pools & Bars: There is only one bar open for most of the day. It gets incredibly long queues and is a fair walk from the other pools. There are no staff checking or managing the non-main pools, so things quickly get messy.

Lack of Communication & Entertainment: Reception failed to tell us that our premium loungers were reserved, leading to some awkward confrontations when other guests used them. Entertainment is practically non-existent. There is just a single board listing basic activities (like a pool race or an evening game of chess). If you don't use the packed main pool, you'd never know anything was happening.

Top Tips if you do go:

Book the Volcano Trip: This was fantastic and very much worth doing.

Kos Town: It’s a lovely place to visit, but you only need a few hours there before you run out of things to see.

Pack Swim Shoes: The beach is made of stones, not sand.

Premium Sunbed Tip: If you have a premium room, look for your room number cable-tied to the table between the sunbeds.

Weather & Dress Code: It is incredibly windy here, which keeps the temperature down, so don't expect boiling, stagnant heat. Because of the wind, be careful with light summer dresses! The dress code is very casual, nobody really dresses up.

Onsite Shop: There is a shop on the resort for anything you forget (and for buying water).

Summary: We honestly cannot believe Jet2 recommends this as a 4-star property. Save your money and look elsewhere

Sunset Views to die for

What an amazing holiday. Views to die for and staff that cannot do enough for you. Went with wife and 16yr old daughter. Booked one of the superior bungalows which were clean, tidy and perfect location with private pool with a 10 second walk to beach. Beach was small and a little rocky so sea shoes probably a good idea. Both restaurants very good and food ok but beach hotel amazing especially at sunset with views better than I could ever have wished for. Staff extremely friendly. Hotel is quite isolated and entertainment not great other than the rock singing night which was great. Easy transport links into Kos Town with regular buses and taxis to and from quite cheap. Kos Old Town was amazing and the Dory half day boat cruise with diving into the Blue Lagoon fully recommended. Perfect holiday for those that just want to kick back, have amazing views and great experiences.
