The Sovereign Beach hotel is set directly on a sandy beach in a quiet area on the island of Kos, approximately two kilometres away from the seaside village of Kardamena, where visitors can enjoy local restaurants, bars and nightclubs. Absolutely amazing!
We had an absolutely amazing time! All of the staff were super friendly, especially Kayt, Kosta, Afrim, Reea and Enzo and his entertainment team! My sone had a birthday whilst we were there and the hotel went above and beyond to make his day super special from start to finish and we can’t thank them enough. The rooms and the hotel were super clean at all times. Great selection for food and drinks. Our swim up bungalows were just amazing and perfect for our needs. We will definitely be returning. Thanks so much to all the staff at Soverign beach 💞
Great hotel, with the best staff
This was our second visit to the Sovereign Beach Hotel and it won't be our last. From the reception staff to the cleaners, everyone were so friendly and accomodating. We would particularly like to thank Tania and Rochelle in the dining room for their kindness and attention to detail during our stay. When we arrived, we had a issue with the location of the room and that it had a overbath shower, which for us was impractical. We asked if they could allocate an alternative room, with a walk in shower closer to the lifts. Within the hour we were contacted by reception and offered another room on the ground floor, which we gladly accepted. The only negatives for us was the plate warmers in the dining room were switched off, which left your food lukewarm at best. Their was also on occasions the smell of drains in our bathroom, and in the grounds of the hotel. The range of food and drink was excellent, and we could always find something we liked. We are already thinking about booking next year

Some small tweaks would be good
This was a good holiday but not exceptional. I loved the hotel and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, but there were areas for improvement, mostly with the food.
We arrived after dinner had finished and check in was quick. We were offered sandwiches and snacks but chose to go to our room which was a bungalow with swim up room. The room was clean and was great for what we wanted and it was not too long before we went to bed. Breakfast was therefore our first meal. Breakfasts were always excellent with a good choice but I was surprised on a Mediterranean island there was so much tinned fruit not fresh and the juices were obviously not fresh and a bit ‘squashy’. They also ran out of grapefruit juice after the first morning and never restocked. Was this because it was close to the end of season?
Later meals followed this trend. Good (sometimes not that hot) but not as much fresh produce as I would expect at this location. All the staff in the restaurant were helpful, particularly the man who rescued me from my beer pouring a few times when I ended up mostly foam.
Housekeeping was mostly good (they missed us on our day of rain) and the reception staff very helpful and friendly when our hot water failed and again when we paid (reasonable price) for our late check out.
Overall we are glad we came for some autumn sun.

Wonderful hotel. Definitely recommend
Fantastic hotel with great staff. Rooms spacious with comfortable beds but pillows quite firm. Lack of blackout curtain in second bedroom meaning daughter was up bright and early every morning! Had a problem with cold shower but was fixed the next morning with a bottle of wine and fruit left in the room for the inconvenience. Also had a bottle of champagne and fruit for husband’s birthday.
Beautifully kept grounds and pool area. All areas very clean. Very tasty food with plenty of selection, fresh pasta and pizza. Loved the snack bar with gyros and burgers. I felt drinks were not very strong and tasted watered down.
Not much evening entertainment but a 20 minute walk into kardamena town or shuttle bus from the hotel with lots of bars and restaurants.
Would definitely recommend and hopefully return next year
A lovely stay
Just back from a 6 night stay. Although the rooms do need some maintenance and updating they are kept spotless with cleaning everyday. Found the choice of food lovely and found something I liked every night. Very impressed with the vegetarian choice. Only thing I would have liked as English people like their tea is if the breakfast cups could be bigger or provided with teapots. Going back 3 times to top up tea a pain. A minibus trip in the afternoon would be good too.Staff we met all helpful and pleasant. On the whole a lovely second visit for me and first for my mum. Swim up room 54 is in the shade all day at this time of year for others thinking of booking.
