We just spent two weeks at Canvas by Mitsis Family Village. First, I want to say that the location and the resort itself are superb. Kos is a wonderful island, and the staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful. It is definitely a place I would love to visit again. However, there were a few downsides during our stay
It is a shame, because these issues pull down the overall impression of a place that otherwise has the potential to be absolutely fantastic.
We just came back from our vacation in the hotel and all I gotta say that it was a rad moment! Such good value for money! Our kids has a blast especially at the water slides. The staff was always friendly and ready to address any issues we had! Thank you from our family for our unforgettable time, we'll be back!
Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was very disappointing.
The biggest issue was the food. Most of the meals were not fresh, and the meat and fish were often served cold. The dining room was also extremely hot, making it impossible to stay there for more than 10 minutes. We asked about the air conditioning, but were told that only three air conditioning units were working. In temperatures of over 36°C, this is simply unacceptable and makes it very difficult to enjoy a proper meal.
We also asked several times for our minibar/fridge to be refilled, but our requests were ignored and it was never restocked. On our last day they put all drinks outside of the apartment.
Some of the staff were friendly, but others were quite rude and unhelpful. The drinks were also of very poor quality. We understand that this is an all-inclusive hotel, but guests should still expect food and drinks that meet a basic standard.
The hotel itself appears very outdated and looks as though very little has been renovated since it first opened. There were also not enough sunbeds around the main pool and the beach, so guests had to compete for them every day.
The only real positive is the location, which offers beautiful views.
Overall, this hotel is nowhere near the standard advertised on its website. It certainly does not deserve its current rating, and we would not recommend it unless significant improvements are made.
We have had a great time here at Mitsis Family Village, the staff are amazing and friendly fun and so lovely, especially the entertainment team Peter, Julia, Gabriel and Janic they are a great team and they made our holiday so much better just by being there. The bar staff are fantastic too. The creperie staff are amazing. We loved playing the pool games and bowling, all the quizzes are lots of fun.
Downsides are that the food is very average. Great if you want to lose weight on holiday lol.
We had a family swim up room which was perfect. All staff were friendly all across the complex. Kardamenia is a short bus ride away and a lovely place to shop. Ice cream staff were fabulous as were the pool bar tenders. Would recommend for families.
