Laga Aegean Village is a hotel resort located on the golden sandy shores of the south coast of Kos Island in Greece.
It's layout and use of space is characteristic of the distinctive Aegean architecture, which is apparent in the hotel's design. Built on a slope, every corner offers magnificent views of the endless deep blue Aegean Sea.
Staying at Laga Aegean Village is a treat for even the most demanding guest, as holidays of quality with high standards are offered. It is the hotel's objective and priority to offer guests the very best in hospitality, accommodation and services, and it is no wonder that repeat guest levels continue to rise yearly.
The main building lounges, restaurants, bars and facilities are located at the bottom of the slope, while all 330 rooms are situated on the hillside, which are accessed by the 24-hour complimentary mini-bus service.
There is a smart-casual dress code for evening meals. All gentlemen are required to wear long trousers and women are asked to dress appropriately.

Lots of things to work on.
I don't normally leave reviews, but unfortunately this was one of the worst holiday experiences we've had. I'm so annoyed that i was not brave enough to take pics of any of the things i could.
We visited Kos at the end of September/beginning of October and stayed at this hotel. On first impressions, the hotel looked wonderful. The grounds were beautifully maintained, with plenty of plants, trees and palm trees throughout the resort. The rooms were spacious and generally clean, so credit where it's due.
However, the positives ended there.
The first issue was the free Wi-Fi, which didn't work in our room. It took almost three days to get this resolved, which is unacceptable when Wi-Fi is advertised as part of the stay.
The next challenge was the dress code. When travelling to a Greek island, especially in warm weather, most people pack light and casual clothing. We were informed on arrival that men must wear long trousers to enter the restaurant. While I understand that hotels may have dress standards, this requirement should be clearly communicated before guests arrive. As a result, we had to spend an extra €40 buying trousers just so we could eat in the restaurant.
What made matters worse was the attitude of some of the staff when we raised concerns. Rather than being helpful or understanding, several members of staff came across as rude and dismissive, leaving us feeling like our concerns were an inconvenience rather than something they wanted to help resolve.
If a hotel expects guests to follow strict standards, it should also maintain similar standards itself. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We were given a dirty and worn high chair with a ripped seat, and the cutlery was often not properly clean.
Meal times were extremely frustrating. There simply didn't seem to be enough capacity for the number of guests the hotel accommodates. Long queues formed for food, there wasn't enough seating, and by the time you reached the serving area many of the main dishes were empty. Refills were slow, meaning guests spent a significant amount of time waiting rather than enjoying their meals. The food selection was also quite limited.
To make matters worse, all drinks had to be paid for, including water, and the prices were far from reasonable.
Overall, while the hotel looks impressive from the outside and the grounds are beautifully kept, the poor organisation, lack of communication regarding the dress code, rude staff, food shortages, additional costs (hire beach towels, pay for the sunbed on the beach, and slow resolution of basic issues made this a very disappointing stay. Unfortunately, I would not return or recommend this hotel. ⭐⭐☆☆☆
Laziest maid ever!
This is my second stay at this hotel in two years and apart from experiencing the laziest room maid ever this time, I did thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Apart from this I would have happily given a higher score. She did not perform her duties and did not clean my room for two days and when I complained to reception on two occasions, she had the audacity to rudely challenge me on why I did that and quite aggressively! I immediately responded in kind pointing out I had no clean towels, the sheets had not been changed, the floors not swept/mopped, the bathroom hadn't been touched and the same plastic bag and plant debris had been on my terrace since I had arrived there 5 days ago, as well as the fact I had no toilet roll and had to borrow one off my friend!!! Only then did she apologise and rectify the issues. Unfortunately her behaviour continued and as I am not a serial complainer and wasn't prepared to let this be the be the focus of a well earned holiday, I accepted that she was just a lazy housemaid and did as little as possible. Apart from this I would definitely return.
Lovely hotel
The hotel has many good qualities and a few things that could easily be improved. We submitted a request regarding room location in advance, and it was honored; we had a wonderful sea view without needing to be on the top floor. The room was clean and serviced daily. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. The restaurant food isn't gourmet, but there is plenty of variety and the quality is decent. The fresh bread is excellent, and the menu varied from night to night. The waitstaff were all very friendly and pleasant. The pool area is very spacious and features a large pool suitable for lap swimming. There are always sun loungers available. The selection at the on-site shop is quite limited, but there is another store less than a kilometer away. The beach is just across the road, making it convenient to go for a swim in the sea. The town center is about a 15-minute walk away. Having read reviews beforehand, I was prepared for the fact that everything (dinner drinks, safe, minigolf, table tennis, beach sunbeds) incurs an extra charge, so I didn't see this as an issue. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday! A suggestion for improvement: The minigolf course is in very poor condition and has only five holes. This is something that could surely be easily fixed.

A beautiful and wonderful stay
A Beautiful Stay – Don’t Be Put Off by the Reviews!
We have just returned from a four-night, five-day stay at Lagas Aegean Village in Kardamena, from 29th September to 3rd October, and I felt compelled to write a review because I genuinely think this place deserves more credit than some of the reviews give it.
The setting is absolutely stunning. The whole village complex is beautiful, with gorgeous views across the sea, and I honestly found myself wanting to take photographs everywhere I went. There is something so pretty about the layout, the scenery and the way the accommodation is set across the hillside. It really is a lovely place to spend a holiday and the views alone made it special for us.
Having read some of the reviews before travelling, I was a little apprehensive as not all of them were particularly positive. However, I can honestly say that those reviews did not reflect the experience we had. I think sometimes as British travellers, we can judge experiences against our own expectations and standards, but we found the staff to be welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were made to feel comfortable throughout our stay and the kindness of the staff really added to our experience, especially when we had phone issues and ended up connecting to Turkey network (make sure you select manual network selection in your phone setting to avoid a very big bill) a member of the dining staff sorted the issue for me and helped me relax again!
The complex is set across different levels, so there are steps and slopes, but we actually enjoyed exploring it. I am 32 and travelled with my mum, who is 68, and we found that there were little stepped pathways and shortcuts to discover as we walked around. Each time we seemed to find a different route, with another beautiful view to admire along the way. There is also a 24-hour minibus service, which was really helpful if you didn’t fancy walking. Although the complex looks quite spread out, we didn’t find the walking too much of an issue.
We were lucky enough to have a two-bedroom apartment with a bathroom and a little terrace overlooking the sea. Our room was clean overall and waking up to that view was wonderful. One tip for anyone booking: if a sea view is important to you, I would recommend confirming exactly what type of view your room will have. The accommodation is arranged in rows across different levels and we noticed that some rooms appeared to have views partially obstructed by trees or other apartments. We were in row five, at the end of the row, and our view was absolutely lovely. We felt very fortunate with our accommodation.
The food was another positive. Both breakfast and the evening meal offered a good selection of hot and cold options, with plenty of choice. We particularly liked that the food wasn’t just the usual pizza-and-chips type of offering, but included more traditional dishes. There was enough variety for us and we found that we were reseated very quickly at mealtimes, which helped everything run smoothly. We never had to wait too long in queues for food.
The swimming pool was lovely, although the water was a little cold for our liking! That said, we visited at the end of September and beginning of October, so that is perhaps to be expected at that time of year. The activities and entertainment were okay, with a reasonable range of things to do, although these weren’t necessarily the highlight of our stay.
Overall, we had a genuinely lovely holiday. It was the beauty of the complex, the incredible views, the welcoming staff and the relaxed atmosphere that made it memorable for us.
I wanted to write this review because I think it is important to share positive experiences just as much as negative ones. Every holiday and every traveller is different, but we came away feeling happy, relaxed and grateful for the experience we had.
Thank you to the team at Lagas Aegean Village for making our stay so enjoyable. We really appreciated the hospitality and I would encourage anyone considering this accommodation not to be put off by the less favourable reviews alone. Go with an open mind, take the time to explore the beautiful grounds and make the most of those wonderful sea views!
Beautiful Village - Not such a great hotel!
Rooms - Or room was a bit outdated and beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Walls on thin side as constantly could hear chairs been moved and scraped along the floor. Curtains in room were not black out so once the sun rose it was shining in our door every morning. Showers had to run for nearly 10-15 mins before they would get warm enough to use. No tea or coffee provided and only had one mug in room. Cleaning - Cleaning ladies arrived very early in morning also and one morning we came back from breakfast to find her trousers in our room and another morning a carton of milk left on the table! Restaurant - Waiter's in the restaurant were quite rude and one morning we came for breakfast and they gave out cause we were late, we arrived at 9.45am and it finished at 10am so more than enough time to get something to eat and leave. No toaster in restaurant and when brought up a staff member said rudely to use "You don't need a toaster, the bread it's fresh from the bakery!!" . Same food every morning and no variety or change in it. We did not have dinner in evening's because men had to wear trousers which seems to be a ridiculous rule as in a warm country so we lost out on that part of the holiday we paid for. Pool bar - Went to get a cocktail at 4.30pm and they said they were closing up and when we asked at what time they said 5pm! So after saying there was still time to make a few drinks they reluctantly made them Gardeners - They arrived early in morning also and would be shouting to one another and having gardening equipment like strimmer's and chainsaws going so we were woken up a few times with them. Beach - Went to the beach a few days and had to pay for sunbeds for the day but it seemed like they only chose to charge some people and then people who arrived after us weren't charged. Shuttle bus - The bus ran 24 hrs a day and would be at your door within minutes of ringing reception so that was very helpful and then a local bus stop was outside the hotel to get into Kardamena town and cost €2 each so very convienent. Unfortunately for us there was more cons then pros on the list for this hotel and definitely would not rate it a 4 star hotel, its pushing to be a 3 star at best. HIGHLY RECOMMEND - Ta Adelfia Restaurant in Kardamena, food was amazing, tasty and so fresh!!
