We have arrived back from an 11 night stay at the Royal blue. Overall we had a positvie experience. Positives; The rooms and grounds are spotless and absolutely beautiful. We could not fault the complex at all. For anyone with mobility issues, the location would be a problem, but for us, it wasn't an issue. We stayed in room 110, which was perfect, close to the top pool and restaurants. Location was spot on, only a 10 minute walk into town and really close to the airport. Free wifi was a great plus! You can log in to Netflix on the smart tvs in your room also which is handy when we needed an early evening for the little one.
Food/drinks;
Pretty typical for AI to be honest. We found it perfectly fine for breakfast and lunch, but if you're eating there 3 times a day it can get pretty 'samey' so we chose to eat out many evenings. If you have fussy kids you can request things like chicken nuggets from the chef. Thankfully ours is more than happy with a plate of pasta and salad so she had no worries. The snack bar at the Entertainment pool was disappointing, not much there and lacked any quality. There is no snack bar at the top pool next to the restaurant. We couldn't understand why there wasn't one. The facilities are there and so it made no sense to us why there wouldn't be one. Compared to other AI reports we've been to in the past this would be our biggest negative in terms of catering review.
Service; Not a single complaint with any of the staff. Every staff member was friendly, happy to help and each employee helped us feel welcome.
Entertainment; This is the weakest part of our review. The evening Entertainment wasn't great, finished early, and was pretty disappointing. We tended to either walk into town or play games and enjoy a drink on our terrace.
Overall, a beautiful hotel. Certainly not 5 star, but has the potential to be! Just a few tweeks with food variety and entertainment, it would have been spot on.
Nice week in the sun at conveniently located hotel. We had a good time which is the main thing.
Food choices somewhat limited compared to other hotels but no issues with quality. Bar service could be slow at times.
A few reviews mention the hill to the restaurants, was very steep but plenty of buggys to hitch a lift on if needed.
Entertainment was ok, no pressure to get involved but usual darts, water polo etc. A show on each night.
10 minute walk into town.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Amazing Stay!
We had an amazing stay from start to finish. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
The hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, with amazing facilities with beautiful pools. The location was perfect too — just a short walk away from everything we wanted to see.
The restaurant was fantastic, with amazing views that made every meal even more enjoyable.
We honestly couldn't fault the hotel. The staff, cleanliness, facilities, location and views were all exceptional. We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel!
We had a really enjoyable stay at the Grand Blue Beach Hotel in Kos and would happily recommend it.
We were a group of 24, and every one of us came away feeling that the hotel was very good and that we had made a great choice for our stay.
From the moment we arrived, one of the biggest positives was the staff. Every member of the team we encountered was happy, helpful and courteous, and they genuinely helped make our stay such a pleasant one.
A special mention has to go to Menushka and Karen from the entertainment team, who were both fantastic and helped create a really enjoyable atmosphere around the hotel. Nicholas on the bar, along with the rest of his team, also deserves a mention – the drinks were great and the service was always friendly.
We also have to mention the lovely waitress working at the adult pool restaurant. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch her name, but she was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay – always smiling, welcoming and incredibly attentive.
Our room was very comfortable and Room 48 gave us a stunning sea view, which was a fantastic sight to wake up to each morning.
The pools around the hotel were excellent. We never once had to fight for a sun lounger, which makes such a difference on holiday. The adult pool was particularly peaceful and became one of our favourite places to relax. We never actually made it up to the top pool, although it looked lovely whenever we passed it.
The entertainment was good throughout our stay and the drinks were excellent. Food-wise, we found it OK overall. We never struggled to find something to eat at any meal, although on a few occasions we felt the choice could have been a little better or more varied.
If we had to grumble – because people always find something to grumble about – there were really only two things we would point out. The high chairs in the restaurant were never properly cleaned, which definitely needs some attention, and the poolside snack food was very mediocre. Neither of these things came close to spoiling the holiday, but they are worth mentioning.
The location is another major plus. The hotel is only around a 15-minute transfer from Kos Airport, which is brilliant after a flight, but once you arrive you somehow feel a million miles away from anything built-up or overly commercial. It feels peaceful, relaxed and properly set apart.
Kardamena is also nearby and has loads of shops, restaurants and bars to explore. We found the Greek people to be some of the friendliest and most welcoming people you could ever hope to meet.
Overall, Grand Blue Beach Hotel gave all 24 of us a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday, with beautiful views, good facilities and, above all, a fantastic team of staff who really are a credit to the hotel.
Other than the couple of minor points mentioned above, we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. If you are considering Grand Blue Beach Hotel for a holiday in Kos, do not hesitate to select it.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our stay so enjoyable – we leave Kos with some brilliant memories.
This hotel is beautiful! The views from most of the resort are breathtaking. Our hotel room was very clean with lovely modern decor and a really good size balcony. We did not pay extra for the sea view but we didn’t spent much time in our room so wasn’t an issue. We requested 2 rooms to be next to each other which is what we got. Thank you! The hill is steep, however we do not have mobility issues and we were all able to walk it. There are buggies available if needed. The pools were lovely. We spent most of our time at the sea breeze bar. The ladies that run the entertainment were superb. Really friendly and had a range of activities that we got involved in and enjoyed. The adults only pool is very nice aswell. Very peaceful! Every member of staff we came across was outstanding. Friendly, polite, helpful and so lovely. We were all inclusive and loved the range of cocktails and mocktails. The beer was good too. On tap or cans were available. We went on the 3 island boat trip from Kos town which was our most favourite day. We also visited paradise beach and had lots of meals out in the local town which is a 10 minute walk. Such a lovely town. Family friendly and felt very safe. The beach nearest to the hotel isn’t really accessible because of the rocks but walk 5 mins to the left and you will find lovely sandy beaches. Kos is beautiful and every person we came in contact with outside of the hotel was so friendly. The only part that lets the hotel down is the food, however it did slightly improve as the week went on. Lunch at the sea breeze bar is terrible. I felt that this could so easily be improved. Although we were all inclusive we did end up eating out mostly which is frustrating given how much we spent to stay here. We would definitely visit again but probably book room only next time as there are amazing places to eat locally.
