Could improve but nice hotel food good
Here just now on our 5th day unfortunately we have a bad Weather flash floods 😞
hotel overall is big - so big in fact we still haven't located where the gym is!? We are disappointed it is for over 16 use only as my 13yr old and I intended to use it especially as weather hasn't been good. unfortunately another disappointment is that there is absaloutely nothing to do when the rain is on no entertainment is provided I asked at reception - no nothing when raining !! 🙄 and both pool tables have been out of use for some time it seems (reading past reviews on this) there are large tvs in one of the bars but they don't get put on either?!)
Positives food in restaurant is great sushi and Chinese station every night with additional hot meat /pizza /pasta station salad soup sweets etc
nice clean hotel free shuttle into kardamena beds are comfortable we had a private pool outside our room but unfortunately again due to weather didn't get to use ☔
Drinks are good branded smirnoff vodka and Gordon's gin and Aperpol spritz and Hugo spritz available amongst many others👌 cocktails are ready made out the bottle but are OK the mojito was decent.
Entertainment - a bit strange - we found the daily schedule which we had to ask for was not advertised anywhere but kept behind d reception? Strange! There was a daily pool dance at one pool then we have no idea where the aqua fit & other classes /things were as they didn't happen at that pool or the other main pool? This could be better advertised as to where it was and shown clearly beside the night entertainment advert to allow people to get involved ?
The lack of info/ communication let the hotel down unfortunately and dropped a star in my rating as I'd booked based on good entertainment /animation staff being fun friendly this certainly isn't what I've found during our time.
Bar service at night queues can get quite long at times and sometimes only 1 /2 person on with many guests in one area. Once show is over in the theatre area at 10.30 there's a lack of atmosphere and one night the music movie quiz advertised didn't happen it was a request a song at the dj!!! So we went into town the following night.
Due to the negatives above I unfortunately wouldn't return if these were improved the hotel could be so much better and would deserve its 5 star.
Hairdryer is good I always bring my own as d generally they aren't... No shampoo /conditioner in bathroom usually there would be in a 5 star?
Worst holiday of our lives!
Where can I even start with this hotel?!
I’ve given one star and that’s being generous!
On arrival, we were told that we would be shown to our rooms. However, when a member of staff arrived, we were simply walked to a block and pointed in a general direction, leaving us to find our own way. This was hardly the welcoming arrival we had anticipated.
I fully appreciate that nobody can control the weather, and unfortunately, we experienced heavy rain during our stay. However, the impact on the resort was significant. Water flooded areas downstairs, and staff had to pump out substantial amounts of water, leaving silt throughout the affected areas. We also had to walk through up to knee deep brown water to get around the resort.
Part of our party had to move rooms twice. First for noise (they have a new born baby), the second because, due to the rain, the ceiling was dripping onto the bed!
Another part of our party had no hot water all week and several times had brown water come out of the sink. They had ants fill the room multiple times too. They also were there with a child.
I had to ask to move our room due to noisy neighbours, I was told that at half past one in the morning I should have walked down to reception to tell them about said noise! My daughter also accidentally smashed a glass and when I asked a housekeeper for a brush she shouted at me in Greek and was raising her arms at me!
Another part of the family ended up with a housekeeper entering their room and attempting to fill it with other people’s suitcases due to the rain! They also had rain enter their room and chose to spend the rest of their week out away from the resort.
Even the complimentary coach service was problematic, with water pouring into the vehicle. While I understand that the weather was poor, this added to our concerns about the general standard of maintenance and the overall experience being provided to guests.
I want to stress that I am not blaming the resort for the rain itself. I have every sympathy for the staff who had to deal with the immediate effects of the flooding. However, there is a significant difference between an unavoidable weather event and the way a business responds to the consequences.

Arrival & Check-In
We arrived at midnight, but there was a snack bar open at reception should we have needed it (although we didn’t visit). The reception staff were lovely, gave us a bottle of water and provided us with all the information we needed. They were also more than happy to answer any questions we had.
We were taken to our room by buggy, and the member of staff took our suitcases and brought them straight to our room, which was a really nice touch.
Heavy Rain & Staff Effort 🌧️
On our first day, we experienced some really heavy rain, and I want to give credit to the staff for the incredible effort they put in to keep the hotel safe and minimise any further damage.
They were constantly mopping up water, putting pallets down for guests to walk over large puddles and placing buckets underneath areas where water unfortunately leaked through the ceilings. The hotel clearly isn’t designed to deal with this kind of weather, but despite the challenging conditions, the staff did everything they could to help and keep things as safe as possible for guests.
It was clear how hard everyone was working, and I think it’s important to recognise the effort they made in difficult circumstances. A huge well done to the team for doing everything they could to manage the situation! 👏
Food & Drinks 🍕🍹
There is food available almost constantly throughout the day at this hotel. The only time we noticed nowhere open for food was between 6:30am and 7:00am.
We never struggled to find something to eat, and my boyfriend is quite a picky eater! However, with pizza and chips available at both lunch and dinner, there was always something he could have if he couldn’t find anything else he fancied. Overall, the food was lovely.
Ice cream is available 24/7, and you can help yourself. We also visited the Amphitheatre pool bar for snacks twice, where they had chicken, burgers, hot dogs and chips available to help yourself to.
The drinks are branded, which was a bonus. However, this may have been affected by the time of year and the end of the season approaching. On our second-to-last day, my partner asked for Smirnoff, but they had run out. He then asked for Pepsi, which was being served from large bottles rather than the usual dispenser, meaning it was flat. We experienced something similar with the sauces in the restaurant, as the mayonnaise and ketchup dispensers ran out and weren’t replenished.
The food was lovely overall, but I would recommend going to breakfast a little earlier if possible. We went at around 10am one morning, with breakfast finishing at 10:30am, and the selection was more limited. Some of the food also hadn’t been kept particularly well, with the croissants being very hard.
Staff & Service ⭐
Overall, the staff were good. Whenever we encountered an issue, I went straight to reception, and they sorted it out for us straight away.
The shop staff weren’t quite as polite as the rest of the team, although they were okay. The waiters were welcoming and friendly, and we even bumped into one of them in Kardamena on his day off, where he stopped to say hello!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t as impressed with the housekeeping staff. I appreciate that there can be a language barrier, but they wouldn’t even smile back when I smiled at them. On several mornings, I was woken up by them shouting to each other, which was frustrating.
I also noticed housekeeping staff standing outside guests’ rooms, shouting to each other, leaning over balconies and smoking. In my opinion, this wasn’t what I would expect to see at a five-star hotel.
They also cleaned our room while we were sitting outside on a few occasions. Although they did the job, they were very loud, slamming things around, and they never swept the area outside our room, despite it needing it. They would also slam the door when leaving.
I want to give a special mention to the lady working at the adults-only bar, though! I believe her name is Stavroula, although I could be wrong. This woman genuinely made our holiday.
By the second day, she already knew my order and would greet me with, “Orange and Malibu?” By the fourth day, she was spotting me walking towards the bar and having my drink ready before I’d even arrived! She was so polite, funny and welcoming, and she is a real asset to the hotel. Thank you for making our holiday that little bit more special! ❤️
Pools 🏊♀️
I can’t comment from personal experience on the other pools, as we spent most of our time around the shared pool outside our suite.
During the week, we saw the pool area being cleared of leaves and brushed twice, but it wasn’t properly cleaned as far as we could see. I only went into the pool twice, as the water was a little too cold for me at that time of year.
There were days when we came outside and the water was cloudy, to the point where you couldn’t see the bottom. On other days, there were dead bugs floating in the water, although there were also days when it looked perfectly fine.
As it was too cold for me to use the pool regularly, I didn’t raise this with reception. However, if I had wanted to use it more often, I definitely would have, as we had paid extra for a suite with a shared pool.
Beach & Location 🏖️
We did visit the beach, and although I wouldn’t say it was amazing, it was still nice to visit.
If you’re expecting a big, beautiful sandy beach, this probably isn’t the one for you. It’s a stony beach with lots of rocks in the water close to the shore, but there are sunbeds and water sports available.
The sea was a lovely temperature, though, so it was still enjoyable to go in. Please be careful when entering the sea, and I would recommend wearing water shoes. I ended up slicing my foot on a rock while in the water, so it’s definitely something to be aware of!
The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus to Kardamena, which is really easy to use and takes around 10 minutes. It’s a great option if you fancy getting out of the hotel for a little while.
Our Room 🛏️
Our room was lovely and was cleaned regularly, with the minibar usually being restocked. We did have an issue where it wasn’t restocked for two days, but as soon as I mentioned it to reception, they sorted it for us.
The minibar included:
- Red and white wine
- A bottle of water
- Two beers
- Two lemonades
- Two cartons of juice
One thing I wasn’t impressed with was how the wine glasses were cleaned. Rather than being properly washed, they appeared to have just been rinsed in the kitchen sink. I noticed this because my lip gloss, which had been on one of the glasses during the first few nights, was still visible on the glass I used on our last night!
The rooms also aren’t particularly soundproof. We could hear people shouting and laughing outside across the complex at night, as well as doors banging, which could be disruptive.
Other than that, the beds were okay comfort-wise, and the air conditioning was great, whether we wanted the room warmer or cooler.
Another big positive was having our own designated sun umbrella and loungers outside by the pool. This meant there were no sunbed wars in our section, which was lovely!
We managed to keep our rooms for €50 on the last day until 6pm as we had a late check out which was really handy!
Overall Thoughts ❤️
Overall, we had a lovely, relaxing week, which was exactly what we wanted from this holiday.
Our shared pool area felt almost private, as we only saw our neighbours twice throughout the entire week. The hotel was generally very clean, the food and drinks were lovely, and the staff were very friendly and helpful overall.
There were a few things that could have been better, particularly the housekeeping, the cleanliness of our shared pool and some of the small service issues towards the end of our stay. However, these things didn’t stop us from enjoying our holiday.
I also want to acknowledge the incredible effort the staff made during the heavy rain on our first day. Although the hotel clearly isn’t designed for that kind of weather, they worked hard to keep the hotel safe and manage the situation as best they could.
I do wonder whether our experience may have been slightly different if we had visited earlier in the season, as we could tell that the end of the season was approaching. Nevertheless, we had a lovely time, and I would definitely consider returning.
If you’re looking for a relaxing, all-inclusive holiday with great food, friendly staff and the bonus of a shared pool, Akti Beach Club is definitely worth considering! 🌴☀️

Nice hotel great location.
Great hotel, with a few minor things, I think are worth a mention. Hotel is classified as a 5 Star. We stayed in the Adult only section. Food was very good with plenty of choices, only disappointment for me was no pancake eggs at breakfast. The waiters and waitresses are amazing. Also the bar staff were brilliant. Real plus was the atmosphere was tranquil during the day in this area, at night 7 days a week was low key entertainment. What in my opinion which let the hotel down, the sunbeds are very worn out and uncomfortable. Also worth a mention is being able to obtain a kettle, they are very limited. We had to wait almost a week before one was available. The location is perfect for a relaxing holiday.
