Porto Skala Hotel - Village is a spacious complex set in attractive gardens and quiet surroundings. It is perfectly placed in an amphitheatr
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This Hotel advertises as 4* IT IS NOT! The rooms are dated, accommodation very limited, we turned up as 3 Mature Ladies having booked a room stated as 'A Double Bed & 2 Singles' we were taken to a room with a double bed in it and a cot, we refused to stay in there and spent many hours trying to negotiate with the receptionist RODI, not a very nice person... Finally we were given a twin room with a cot, not ideal but we swapped beds every night so that we all got to have the pleasure of the cot.... we were told we could only have this room for 5 nights then back to the double for 2 (joy). A couple of days in, reception told us we could keep the room and looked at us for acceptance indicating that they had done us a favour (NOT). The room had only 2 tea cups, mouldy sachets clearly not renewed... these in turn were never replenished the whole time of our stay. Pool towels were supposed to be provided daily, again they were not, we had to ask for them. Pool Bar was manned until 11pm, no atmosphere, music was to the Bar Man's taste only.... they do not serve small beers on draught so you had to have a large tankard or a tin of Heineken, not even the local beer. The Hotel Bar was never open. The pool area was clean, the children's pool was filthy, the playground was old and dated and quite frankly I would not put my child in there!! The Hotel provides a shuttle service to the beach and bars/restaurants at a cost of 2.50 euros each, the last shuttle back was 2130hrs, not ideal so we took taxis back for a cost of 8 euros which was very reasonable. You could walk it but it would take you a good hour to get to a decent beach / bar / restaurant. Quite frankly I would definitely go back to Skala as very beautiful, highly recommend Captain Vangelis Boat Trips but would not stay in this awful Hotel and would strongly advise you do not either.
It was located in a beautiful place. Amazing customer service. Clean rooms. Thank you family from Prague.
The hotel is exactly as advertised stunning views, beautiful calm and relaxing. Rooms clean and tidy fresh sheets and towels daily. This year a special touch - Evelyn guest relations nothing too much trouble, lovely person very knowledgeable and helpful. lovely touch ...
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Great facilities, decent size rooms and very comfy beds.
The best thing about this hotel though is the amazing staff……….nothing is too much trouble. I must in particular mention Evelyn and Franklin who were amazing!
My main gripe unfortunately was that there is no air con in the seating areas in the dining room but would thoroughly recommend this hotel
We have had the most fabulous holiday staying at the Porto Skala Village in Skala. All the staff have been wonderful and couldn’t do more for you ! Evelyn , the customer relations manager, is so friendly and helpful. She makes it her mission to get to know every guest staying here which is really lovely . She can book trips for you , hire cars, make restaurant recommendations, anything, without leaving the hotel . The hotel itself is lovely and clean, the rooms are cleaned daily. The pool area is lovely, with so much space . Barman Franklin works very hard and always very helpful and friendly. Nice lunches can be ordered at the pool bar until 6pm. Rodi on reception was so helpful too … ordering taxis, sorting out our Tv in our room, finding out opening hours of attractions for us.. All the staff are great to be honest . We have fab views from our room and our daughters - I think they all have a sea view to be fair. You can always ask Chris for a lift in the buggy to get back to your room if yours is up a few stairs like ours was!!! The hotel bus can drop you into Skala during the day and pick up as well hourly if you book it . Otherwise it’s a short cab journey . Great little cove opposite hotel as well where I swam with a turtle! Not an easy access beach though as you need to climb over some rocks to get to it , but worth it for the fish and sea life!
All in all a definite 5 star for this hotel . We have had the best time . Thank you everyone at the Porto Skala Village
