Thallassa Boutique Hotel….just perfect

Just returned from a week staying at this amazing hotel. Every single member of staff were brilliant from reception to bar, breakfast, maids, so friendly and attentive. The setting is perfect and the atmosphere very chilled. We will 100% be back. Keep up the fantastic work.

Good Base to explore Kefalonia

I'll start with the Bad : booked through Travel Republic, 9 months in advance, checked directly with property a week before arrival that all was ok with reservation, was assured that all was in order. On arrival the room that we had booked for the week was not available and were told we had to take room 506 which is one the overflow rooms above the kitchen/reception area. The attitude of the reception staff, in particular Cara was just awful, not an apology absolutely nothing! I was so upset at this just wanted to unpack and settle in as we had been traveling around the Island and this stay was supposed to be a treat. We did eventually get our designated room but it leaves a sour taste. I understand we were not the only clients at this property that this has happened to, some waiting several days for their rooms, so just be aware, they have an over booking policy! The Good things : The Staff generally are really friendly and the breakfast offerings are good. The lunch/evening menu is particularly excellent as are the cocktails and wine choices, more expensive than in town but worth it in my opinion. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool but needs more umbrellas. Get out of Lassi and explore the Island, particular up North as its gorgeous.

Heaven

Incredible hotel, Incredible staff, Incredible hospitality, for us it’s the perfect getaway. We have been fortunate enough to visit this hotel over several years, we’ve stayed several different rooms and never been disappointed, the food seems to get even better every year. We’re definitely returning next year. Massive thanks to Angela and her incredible team.

Second time!

My wife and I have just returned from our second stay at the Thalassa Hotel and once again have not left dissapointed. The food was beautiful, the views were stunning and every member of staff was so friendly and wonderful.

A few things to note from other reviews:

Construction work - While there is a new hotel being built opposite I can confirm it didn’t disrupt either of our stays. We didn’t hear anything throughout our trips.

Lassi - Although there are plenty of bars and restaurants, I would agree a lot of the menus are the same. A couple of recommendations I would make would be drinks at Trentis Bar which has a wonderful sea view, and food at Xylofurnos family tavern which on Sundays has a lovely live Greek band playing.

The rooms - Last year we stayed in 612 (I think) which was slightly outdated but had a gorgeous full sea view from the balcony. This year we were in 403 which had no view but was really modern. Both were great.

Overall, we love the hotel. The main element that drew us back for a second year was the staff who really are fantastic (especially the breakfast staff!). Thank you once again Thalassa for a brilliant holiday!

Great hotel, shame about the Lassi village

Overall this is a beautiful hotel and worth having on your radar.

Firstly, the breakfast & bar/restaurant staff are fabulous, helpful and engaging. Ilva (days) & Chris(nights) are helpful on reception, but some of the others on reception not so much.

The room we had was lovely (214 deluxe pool view) and by far the most spacious (c. 6ft x 6ft) shower area we've ever had when travelling. Bed is spacious and very comfy, although a little more lighting would be useful in the sink area.

The pool area is absolutely fabulous, with two fresh water pools, loads of double sunbeds/cushions/daily fresh towels, & seating areas, either shady or full sun, and no scramble at dawn to get one is a real plus!

Food wise, the breakfast is excellent with loads of choice and what a view. Lunch poolside was lovely, as was the evening menu the one time we ate in the hotel.

There are two lovely sandy beaches within a 5 to 7 minute walk, however, those with mobility issues may struggle to get to them.

A note re the Lassi area, it's exactly a half mile to the very busy main road, along which there are plenty of restaurants and a few bars. Although we didn't have a bad meal, there is a real lack of diversity across the menu's. Trentis bar has fabulous sunset views from it's spacious balcony. Aqua Marina is nice for lunch & evening, & on Mondays & Thursdays has live greek music & dancing. Tsogia's is well worth a lunch visit, just make sure you're hungry as they clearly enjoy feeding people.

Improvements.... there is no provision In the hotel for late checkouts to have a shower (our pick up was at 8pm) therefore you need to use the poolside shower and reception toilets to change. If you want a late room, it's only available if the hotel is not full, and then at a cost of 110€.

Would we come back? Simple answer is No. The hotel is soooo nice, however the Lassi resort doesn't offer enough variety to make coming back realistic for us.
