Once again thanks to all of the wonderful staff for a fabulous holiday. We have been going to Ikos Oliva every year since 2015 (except Covid) and enjoy ourselves just as much every time we go. We are definitely returning next June/July and just about to book in the next few days. All of the staff are exceptional and it is impossible to name them all because a lot of the work is behind the scenes so a special shout out to the gardeners who work tirelessly in amazing temperatures and keep the grounds immaculate, also the cleaning staff and housekeeping for keeping everything spotless The bar staff, waiters/waitresses, reception staff and not to forget the chefs who produce amazing dishes in all of the restaurants. Members of the management team that we found really helpful and most accommodating were, Athina, Dimitris, Skerdi, Niki, George, Theano, Fotini. We feel that we got really friendly with them all and they treated us like family. Nothing was too much trouble for them and made the holiday fantastic again.
This is the second time my family and I have visited Ikos Olivia and once again it did not disappoint. We were incredibly well looked after by all the Ikos Olivia team. Special shout outs and mentions must go to Anna Kalaitzidou for her amazing attention to detail and checking in with us to ask how are stay was and whether there was anything more she or her team could do to help. Also Amarildo Disha was amazing in moving us to a new room during our stay which was extra special and really ended our holiday on a high. We are looking forward to staying again next year.
We booked a Deluxe Collection 2 bed bungalow with beachfront views . The suite itself was very clean, fresh looking decor and had fantastic air con.
As part of the deluxe collection we had pre-booked reservations in all of the hotels a-la-carte restaurants and all of them were great with attentive staff. Family favourites was the Ouzo (Greek) with its plate throwing and the Anaya (Asian). We also ate in the Flavours general buffet dining and again the food was good there though obviously a lot busier.
I can't comment on the various swimming pools as we spent our time on the beach front. With the room having its own garden that had sun loungers we had no need to really use the loungers on the beach itself. However, the occasions we did use them there were always loungers available as there is active policy of clearing loungers that don't have people on them. Drinks service available straight from the beach lounger. Also, the water sports activities such as kayaking, wind surfing, jet ski etc was available on site which was a mandatory requirement for us choosing this resort.
Of particular note to praise was the Deluxe Collection concierge service. That team were very helpful throughout in assisting with various requirements we had. We even requested fresh home made lemonade and macaroons to be delivered daily to our room! Some people to mention from that team include Eleni who seemed to have ability to track us down in the resort to check that everything was ok, Sophia for discussing various ideas for our car hire itinerary and Ioannis for arranging a pharmacy collection for our daughter. We could communicate with the concierge service either face-to-face or even more conveniently by WhatsApp.
The only negative experience we had during the stay was that we had a water leak in both our bathrooms due to some plumbing issue. That was quickly resolved and to our surprise we had some pink champagne and desserts delivered to our suite in the evening by way of an apology which was most appreciated.
Overall I would say that this was the best beach side resort we stayed in as a family. Beautifully maintained grounds, great room and great service. The hotel is family orientated but was a positive for us at our stage in our family life.
This was our 5th or 6th visit and once again didn’t disappoint. The hotel itself is a perfect size - not too big and not too small, and everything is considered to ensure that holidaymakers have all they need. Beautiful gardens, well staffed and lovely swimming pools, and then the fabulous food offerings. À la carte restaurants are fantastic but so too is Flavors buffet. It’s impossible to imagine that even the fussiest of eaters won’t find something amazing to eat - at any time of day or night. Finally, what makes this place so special is the kind, funny, caring and very attentive staff. Special shoutout to Jenny and Carlos at the pool bar and Sam beach buddy. Ikos Olivia is so good we booked again!
Firstly I will say the facilities are fantastic and it is a beautiful and tastefully furnished resort a quick trip away from many lovely sites. However the staff are what make the experience. Carlos our waiter around the pool was one of the most fun and tentative waiters I've had the pleasure of being served by, he simply couldn't have done more to make our experience better - he was fantastic. Secondly Teo and Rafaela from the lobby bar were simply brilliant, right from the minute we arrived to the day we left. The different restaurant managers were also great, making some very heartfelt arrangements for my mother-in-laws 60th and couldn't have been more empathetic and helpful with a couple issues we had.
The only draw back, having been lucky enough to go to another Ikos (Dassia) and other luxury resorts, was the room service. Naturally after 23:00 the menu is reduced in selection - which is fair enough - but the options that they have aren't great and aren't particularly well done or presented, with some dishes even turning up cold. They also arent very flexible whereas other places will do everything they can to try and accommodate. Also from our experience you can be ringing room service for 30+ minutes without answer - and sometimes they didn't pick up at all and I had to contact reception.
