Constant loud rap and disco Muzak all day
If your view of a good hotel is one with constant very loud rap and disco Muzak in all public areas all day long this is the hotel for you! But if you like to read round the pool or have conversations after dinner forget it! Best bring ear plugs.

A great stay in Rethymno
We’ve just checked out after a really lovely week in Rethymno.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the breakfast team. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the pool was a relaxing place to spend the day, with plenty of sunbeds. The spa treatments were also great. The location is excellent: the beach is just a two-minute walk away, the Old Town is about a 30-minute walk, and there are lots of fantastic restaurants and bars nearby.
The main area for improvement is the food. We appreciated being able to swap our half-board dinner for lunch, but the food didn’t quite meet our expectations for a five-star hotel. The hot breakfast options were barely warm, the pastries tasted stale, and lunch was okay rather than memorable. Staff could also offer drinks around the pool and in the evenings more proactively.
That said, we had a great week in a lovely area. It’s a particularly nice spot for couples wanting to relax.

Lovely staff, clean – but lacked the wow factor
We have just returned from a week at Minos Ambassador, staying on a B&B basis. We found the hotel clean, and the staff were polite, friendly and worked extremely hard throughout our stay. We had a few small issues initially, including our room being below the restaurant and being woken by chairs moving above us. However, the staff dealt with this immediately and moved us to another room where we didn't hear a thing. The shower/changing facilities and luggage storage provided on our final day were excellent and very much appreciated. For me personally, the hotel just lacked that little bit of “wow” which I would expect from a 5-star hotel, and the views from some rooms aren't particularly impressive. However, the upstairs pool/terrace area is a nice option for relaxing and enjoying a better outlook. Overall, a clean, comfortable hotel with hardworking, friendly staff in a great location — just manage your expectations if you're looking for a luxury 5-star feel.

Not 5 star
Just returned from this hotel which wasn’t a very good 5 star. We’ve certainly stayed in better 5 stars On a positive note the room was spacious and cleaned to a high standard. Staff were pleasant and breakfast was very good
Negatives - the view from our room was straight on to a busy noisy road. Bath towels were very small and thin. Not at all luxurious. The shower gel etc was certainly not high end as promised.
The rooftop pool had a vista over the rooftops resembling Beirut although you could see the sea. When it was windy you couldn’t get any shelter from it and the pool was freezing. Sunbeds were very hard and uncomfortable. All in all this wasn’t the 5 star experience we were expecting.
