The hotel is 4 km from Rethymnon town centre, 80 km from Knossos Palace and 75 km from Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport. This beach hotel and club resort is in a class of its own. From the marbled foyer to the luxurious bedrooms, every detail in this hotel echoes style, quality and prestige. There is a hotel safe, lift access, a café, pub and restaurant, a shop, a hairdressing salon, Internet access and a play area, everything needed to a wonderful holiday. The rooms have balconies or terraces with sea views and most of them have an open plan lounge area with a sofa bed that can be converted into a child's bed. All feature en-suite bathrooms and appliances to increase experience.
Thank you so so much Dimitria (spelling?) in the Gold Bar for helping my partner tonight. She was struggling with breathing issues and you instantly helped without thought. We have been to hotels where no one would help. Your actions tonight were beyond our expectations. Thank you again. You were amazing.
The Holiday of Dreams
Arriving back at the newly renovated Grecotel Creta Palace meant we were back to our second home. The warm Grecotel welcome, and then a full explanation of all the improvements as we taken to our new room.
As we got accustomed to our stay the courteous staff were always available to guide and help as required. The improvement programme included the food which was so impressive from presentation to enjoyment at all the restaurants.
The entire Creta Palace work force was continuously working to ensure every guest could enjoy their holiday. It ensured our stay was the best we have had. There are just too many ‘family friends’ to name, so a massive THANK YOU to every single member at the hotel.
We cannot wait to return

Creta Palace, A Resort to Live

Great hotel with hidden flows
July 2026
We started our stay at Grecotel Creta Palace by the end of June this year. Due to the late arrival at the hotel, we've begun our holiday in the middle of the night. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist who led us straight to our room. The kindness of the staff accompanied us at every moment of our 10-day stay (hotel reception, restaurants, pool service, cleaning staff etc.). The food served both in the form of a buffet and directly by the waiter service to the table I can summarize in three words - simply a revelation. A variety of fresh, delicious products, including local ones. Top of the top. Accommodation (according, to the hotel description): 5-star, recently renovated. Unfortunately, I must say that it did not apply to all parts of the complex, including the option chosen by us- the Deluxe Family Bungalow with garden view. The bungalow itself, consisting of two separate rooms, is quite large, bright but with a low ceiling, clean, with two separate exits and terraces, connecting to the garden. Super comfortable mattresses and large beds. Unfortunately, that's where its advantages end. Bathrooms definitely do not meet the standard of a 5-star hotel - in the old style, locally with mold within the joints, mirrors glued with silicone in a very careless way. Shower and bath shabby, instead of cabin covered with fabric curtains. Definitely in need of renovation. We reported this problem at the reception, but a nice lady from the staff informed us that all available Deluxe Bungalows are still waiting to be renovated. The offer of these rooms, both on the website of the travel agency and the hotel itself, I consider a kind of misinformation - no photos of bathrooms. The official Grecotel website shows renovated rooms (other than the Deluxe Family Bungalow with the garden view) e.g. with a side sea view - and already a top standard, including renovated bathrooms worthy of a 5-star hotel such as the Grecotel Creta Palace. In addition, we've faced a massive leak from the air conditioning (flooded floor) appeared several times in the kids room, which had nothing to do with (suggested by the technician) the opening of the balcony doors (we've kept them closed). I would like to point out that our bungalow, was one of the most expensive option in the hotel offer. At the end of our stay, the hotel got a little bit crowded and there was a problem to find free sunbeds at the main pool. The restaurants service were at that time also a little bit more chaotic, but atmost polite. In summary, I consider generally our stay in the hotel to be absolutely great, relaxing and wonderful, but with a far different from 5-star standard for bathoom (rather 3 star) which differs significantly from the promised and paid 5-star standard ( the value of the room not worth the money). The hotel itself, (excluding our bungalow) 5 stars!
I've already been in Grecotel Creta Palace in Rethimno several times and I can say that in my recent stay, I have been positively surprised about the continuous efficient organisation, the outstanding renovated facilities, the improved offer and the qualified personnel. The hotel and its location are excellent. As to the staff, I have appreciated their competence, their courtesy and their availability in sorting out customer's needs. They contribute in making the difference, thus transforming your stay in a very pleasant and relaxing holiday.
We had a great vacation at Grecotel Creta Palace.
The hotel is beautiful, very clean and well maintained. Food was consistently good, the à la carte restaurants were excellent, and the drinks were better than expected. We also loved the beach service—having cocktails delivered straight to our sunbeds was a nice touch. Room service was fast and reliable.
The evening entertainment was another highlight. There was stylish live music every night and good-quality shows without feeling over the top.
We really enjoyed the complimentary Greek cooking class with Chef Niko and the Greek coffee workshop - both lead by charismatic Georgios Mavrangelidis🫶🏻. They were fun, well organized and a nice way to experience Greek culture. Thanks also to Nastia from Guest Relations for always being helpful. Our daughter enjoyed the Kids Club as well - the team there was very dedicated.
Our room - Double Superior Sea view - itself could be more functional. We had to ask for extra hangers, there was no proper place to store our suitcases, and we missed a drying rack on the balcony for swimsuits and towels.
The location is great—Rethymno is only a short drive away and definitely worth visiting for dinner or an evening walk. The hotel beach is nice, but if you’re renting a car, I’d definitely recommend exploring the island. Crete has more scenic beaches with calmer water and excellent spots for snorkeling and diving.
Overall, we’d definitely recommend the hotel and would happily come back.
Thank you, dear Creta Palace Team❤️
