We spent one week at Alianthos Estate Resort in Plakias, and we can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything was absolutely perfect, and we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout our entire stay.

We were already impressed upon arrival. Due to our flight, we didn’t arrive at the hotel until around 9:30 PM, when the dinner buffet had officially closed. However, we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and invited to enjoy dinner before checking into our room. After a long day of traveling, this thoughtful gesture meant a lot to us and was a wonderful first impression of the hotel’s exceptional hospitality.

The rooms are beautifully designed, modern, and tastefully furnished. You can immediately tell that a lot of thought has gone into every detail. They have everything you could possibly need—and even more. The indirect lighting creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere in the evenings. Our room was also spotlessly clean every single day. Housekeeping did an outstanding job, and it was always a pleasure returning to such a perfectly maintained room.

The entire resort is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The main pool is spacious and perfect for relaxing, and there is also a separate children’s pool for families. One feature we absolutely loved was the poolside ordering service. By simply scanning a QR code, you can order food and drinks directly to your sunbed. It’s modern, convenient, and incredibly well organized.

Another highlight is the hotel’s private beach, located just across the road. It’s only a short walk away and offers comfortable, modern, and very clean sun loungers. The same QR code ordering service is available there as well, allowing you to enjoy food and drinks without leaving your spot. It made spending the day at the beach even more relaxing.

The staff deserve special recognition. Every single member of the team was genuinely friendly, welcoming, attentive, and professional. You can tell that guest satisfaction is their highest priority. Whether it was refilling your water glass as soon as it was empty or clearing your plates almost immediately after finishing your meal, the staff were always one step ahead while never being intrusive. This level of service is something you rarely experience and truly made our stay even more enjoyable.

Without a doubt, the absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast and dinner buffet. It is honestly difficult to put into words just how incredible it was. The variety, quality, and presentation of the food were simply outstanding. Every morning and evening there was an enormous selection of dishes, including authentic Greek specialties, international cuisine, fresh salads, fruit, desserts, and so much more. There was truly something for everyone, no matter your taste or dietary preferences. Everything was fresh, delicious, and constantly replenished throughout the service. We have stayed at many hotels over the years, and this was easily one of the best buffets we have ever experienced. The buffet alone is a reason to return to this hotel.

The resort is also ideal for families. In addition to the children’s pool and playground, there are plenty of activities to enjoy, including a pool table, board games, and even a life-sized chess board. There is something for everyone, whether you’re traveling as a couple, with friends, or with children.

Overall, Alianthos Estate Resort offers the perfect combination of relaxation, modern comfort, outstanding hospitality, and exceptional food. It is a place where guests of all ages can feel at home. We had an unforgettable week on Crete and would return without hesitation. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so special!
