Amazing staff!
Lovely hotel right on the very beach front, which was amazing eating on the shoreline to the sound of the sea. The sea was warm and calm and clear, well on most of our days anyway! Nice rooms with very comfy beds and the vibe is very calm and quiet perfect for a restful break as it's adults only. Food was local and lovely each time we ate, all inclusive wine was unusually nice! Special shout out to the lovely Zoe in the dining room who made our stay special as it was our anniversary and who upgraded us to their sister hotel (see another review!), we were sad to leave Andreas in the bar who was fantastic. Would definitely return, thanks for a lovely stay and thanks again Zoe x

Really friendly hotel
This is a really nice smaller hotel set in a very quiet area. The hotel itself is literally on the beach and only yards from the sea which is fantastic. It’s a small hotel and the staff are superb nothing is too much trouble and they are so friendly. Rooms are nice and if you want the best experience you need a sea view room with shared pool and your own reserved sun beds Not a lot of sun beds otherwise but never seemed a problem. The outdoor restaurant area is amazing being only a few yards from the sea. If you want a very quite relaxing holiday then this is for you. We really enjoyed it.

2nd Visit. Not as memorable, due to stormy weather.
My wife & I decided to visit Grand Bay for a second time. Unfortunately the weather was not great. We had half a day in the sun on our first day, then two days of high winds and heavy rain. Luckily we then had a warm sunny day, but it didn’t last. The next four days were severe storm warnings accompanied by a Government warning.
Thankfully the rest of our holiday saw us enjoying warm sunny days. Which allowed us to visit some of the places we wanted to see and enjoy the rest of our holiday.
The hotel setting is a quiet relaxing bay, the food in the buffet, whilst quite similar each day is adequate. The Ala Carte menu is quite limited but the dishes are all delicious. The service was great and the staff very friendly. Aman in particular was outstanding.
Our room had a wonderful sea view with Super King size bed, sofa, arm chair, table & two chairs. There were coffee making facilities and a stocked fridge that was replenished daily. The en suite had shower, sink & toilet. The maid kept it spotlessly clean with daily visits.
The service from both the pool bar by Andreas and the Lobby bar by Kostas was first class, they are both outstanding members of staff. Two of the team Anastasia & Maxim from Ukraine were both hardworking, helping in the bars and buffet serving drinks and clearing tables.
The entire hotel staff work tirelessly as a team to make the hotel guests feel welcome and go out of their way to make their stay safe and comfortable. Zoe the PR manager worked very hard to help people settle in and feel valued.

Relaxation Heaven
Grand Bay is perfectly situated in a beautiful bay, right on the beach. If you are looking for peace and quiet and relaxation then this is perfect. It is in a little village, there are a few places to eat and bars but we did only go into one. About 50 minutes on the local bus into Chania, we visited the old town on an evening. Well worth a visit and a wander round the back streets and harbour. We were very lucky with our weather as the week before and after had been storms. We had hot sunny weather everyday which meant sitting doing nothing on the beach. There were no issues getting sun beds, a lot of suites have their own allocated beds but there are plenty of beds for everyone else to use, some around the various pools and some on the beach. All meals eaten at the buffet can be eaten on the terrace which is right on the beach and is lovely. Buffet meals are nice, plenty of choice. We had the al a carte one evening which was delicious. We had a superior, sea view double room. It was a really nice room, large with a nice terrace. Bathroom nice. Housekeeping kept it lovely and clean and replenished towels and beach towels daily. What really makes this hotel is the staff. They make you feel so welcome and your stay so personal. Nothing is too much for them and you really are so well looked after. As with other reviews credit to Andreas at the beach bar who asked our names on the first day and did not forget them once. We had a lovely week just relaxing at the hotel, it was just what we needed after a tough year.

Food poisoning
Still in A@E in the UK suffering from food poisoning. We started feeling ill in our last two days of our holiday however wanted to return home ASAP. We noticed after eating the pork was under cooked at our evening meal which has now been proven to be the cause of our illness . We did not eat anything from outside the hotel . Both of us being ill with same symptoms.
