The family-friendly Star Beach Village & Waterpark enjoys a great location in Hersonissos, only 50 metres away from the sandy beach and the eternal blue waters of the Cretan Sea. The port of Hersonissos is also within walking distance, and the town and the international airport of Heraklion can be reached within a short drive. The hotel offers stylish guest rooms with balcony or terrace, boasting spectacular views of the sea. They are excellently appointed and feature WIFI, individually controlled air-conditioning, kitchenette, fridge and satellite-TV. Services and amenities of the hotel include a mini-club, a 700 m2 freshwater swimming pool with children's area, a luxurious spa centre, a fitness room, sports facilities and a free shuttle service to the golf club. In addition, there is a fantastic water park with various fun pools, giant slides and water sports facilities. The perfect choice for families looking for a fun-filled holiday under the Greek sun.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel itself is lovely and clean, the staff all pleasant and helpful. The place is huge, we stayed in block athina which was completely at the opposite end to the reception and main restaurant, so it was a walk a few times a day. On saying that the block was lovely, clean and the room was excellent ( with a great view). The aquapark again was great. The beach is great, clean and we enjoyed the water sports. Food was also great for a/l, we always found something to eat. Drinks also fine. The only negative this hotel has is some guests let it down, we found quite alot of guests rude and arrogant, they push in and have no manners. They also just leave their rubbish everywhere when there are bins provided but thats not the hotels fault. Don't let it put you off coming. I honestly loved it and it's one of the nicest places I've visited. I cant wait to return in the future ππ¬π·
Loved Star Beach Village and Waterpark, we had a mixture of ages, the youngest being 11. I cant speak for all rooms but we stayed in the perfect location, right next to the Dionyssos Pool and Snack bar which means it was a short walk to everywhere, with a half sea view (gorgeous) and a pool on our doorstep. The rooms were a decent size and cleaned daily, always with fresh water bottles provided every day. Great selection of food in the restaurants for even the fussiest of eaters (and me as a veggie everything was labeled). Loved the Cretan Restaurant. The waterpark was perfect for all the kids (up to adult age) :), there are sunbeds dotted everywhere so no problem finding one at all hours of the day and the crystal clear waters of the sea were just stunning, we managed lots of snorkling (id suggest beach shoes for the rocks if you plan this). The resort is kept very clean, the little paths covered in trees and flowers were beautiful and the animation team and staff in the bars and restaurants and reception were always spot on. We had a wonderful holiday. We also had a late flight so it was perfect to get use of the facilities all day on our last day, swim and have use of the shower room.
Small pointers only - not great for wheelchair users and pushchairs, rooms were kept clean however we did get quite a few ants in the room (tiny ones), it would have been nice to have a little more going on at night (the shows were great, the staff super talented but nowhere to have a dance with the family or kareoke or interact much) and the resort centre was a little too far to walk for this. As the main restaurant shuts at 9.30pm, we sometimes had to rush to catch a show unless you eat early (which we tend not so we can make the most of the day). After 9.30pm it would have been nice to have a couple of snack options behind the bar. However I would stay here again if I could brave Heraklion airport on the return journey π
The hotel gave us the best experience, starting the trip planning via emails through out visit we've had the best time
Great for kids, but a total disaster for adults looking for peace and relaxation.
The hotel itself is beautiful and the facilities are of very good quality, but unfortunately the atmosphere is extremely disappointing for adults who want to read, relax, or sleep.
The music is far too loud, with the DJ playing music at what felt like well over 80 dB for long periods. What is particularly frustrating is that there seemed to be little or no consideration for guests who prefer a quieter environment. The DJ was essentially the only person dancing, while many guests were simply trying to relax.
If you are travelling with children and enjoy loud entertainment, this hotel may be a great choice. However, for adults looking for peace, relaxation, and a comfortable place to unwind, I would strongly recommend choosing somewhere else.
βI am writing this review with deep gratitude to the incredible team at Star Hotel. More than just a wonderful place to stay, we experienced a level of empathy and integrity that is truly rare to find. βDue to my husband being unexpectedly called for emergency military service during the ongoing war in Israel, combined with the difficulties of managing our young children, we completely missed our non-refundable cancellation deadline. We were heartbroken, facing a significant financial loss. βWhen I reached out to the hotel after our scheduled stay date, explaining our situation, the hotel handled our request with incredible compassion. having no obligations, they provided us a full, extraordinary refund as a gesture of goodwill. βThis level of understanding, empathy and remarkable customer care truly set this hotel apart. while truly goes above and beyond for his guests. We are so grateful and cannot wait to stay there on our next visit!
