Situated right on a beautiful sandy beach just fifteen minutes outside of Chania on the island of Crete, this luxurious fully renovated beach hotel designed for adults offers a spectacular family holiday or romantic retreat of sea and sun. Guests might venture into Chania to explore its beautiful old town, or simply lounge in the sun by the expansive outdoor pool and sip a drink from the pool bar.
The spacious rooms and suites are bright and airy, all with an en suite bathroom and private balcony or terrace, and some with sea views and lavish private pools. Guests might sample traditional Greek and Cretan cuisine in the Matter main restaurant or 35° Cretan a la carte Restaurant, and enjoy a coffee and pastry in the Stellar Lobby Bar or Naked star Pool Bar. The wellness centre Orion Spa offers a spa, hot tub and fitness centre in addition to a range of massages and beauty treatments, and the hotel provides free Wi-Fi internet access throughout, all for a wonderful island holiday.

Cretan perfection
Wow, what an amazing find this hotel was. My wife and I spent a week here in July '26 and were fully relaxed and looked after from the moment we arrived, treated to a relaxing cold smoothie and cold towels at check in, before being given a tour and explanation of the facilities prior to being taken to our suite. The suite was excellent, as was every part of this hotel. It's a fairly small hotel, just over 100 guests whilst we were there. Everything here is of a five star quality. A lot of the 5 star hotels being marketed by travel companies would not come close to the levels this hotel is setting. Katerina, the hotel manageress, made a point of touring the restaurants and grounds every day, talking to every guest present, sometimes at length. I'm sure she would personally address any concerns raised by guests, but I saw none. Manolis, the restaurant manager ensures everyone has a superb experience in the A la Carte restaurant, the food here is outstanding, as is the fayre in the buffet restaurant next to this. All of the staff, bar tenders, waiters, housekeeping and reception were brilliant, nothing was ever too much trouble for them to make the guest experience next level. I personally, cannot fault this hotel and will definitely return as soon as possible when in need of some serious relaxation and service.

Wonderful hotel - 10/10
We had an absolutely wonderful stay and would happily rate this hotel 10/10. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything exceeded our expectations.
The food was exceptional, with a fantastic variety and outstanding quality. Having both a buffet restaurant and an à la carte restaurant included in the all-inclusive package made the experience even more special. Every meal was delicious, and the fresh fruit was some of the best we have ever had.
Our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The entire hotel is beautifully maintained, and the pool area creates a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere. The beach was also lovely, with plenty of available sunbeds at any time of the day. The only minor point is that the beach is a bit rocky, but the crystal-clear, warm sea more than makes up for it.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the people. Every member of the staff was genuinely kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Any request was handled incredibly quickly, and they were very flexible whenever possible. We especially appreciated being allowed to continue enjoying the all-inclusive facilities after check-out and being provided with a room to shower and get ready before our evening departure. These thoughtful touches made a huge difference.
The management was also excellent. It was lovely to see the manager greeting guests every day and making sure everyone was enjoying their stay. By the end of our vacation, many of the staff already knew us, which made the atmosphere feel even more personal and welcoming.
Overall, we honestly couldn’t find anything to complain about. This is one of those rare hotels where everything simply comes together: excellent food, beautiful facilities, outstanding service, and a relaxed atmosphere. We left with wonderful memories and would not hesitate to come back. Highly recommended!
Charming location
We had a dream stay at this charming hotel at the end of June. Everything was superb—from the location and atmosphere to the excellent, diverse, and appetizing food, and especially the entire staff's attentiveness toward the guests. Many thanks to Katerina for the daily warm welcome and for looking after our itinerary... a true host and a good friend. We will certainly return to this oasis of relaxation and recommend it wholeheartedly. Thank you so much for everything! The Hansa and Bertea families... the five guests from Romania.
Second Wonderful Visit
This was our second visit to Asterion and it did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived the service that we received from the attentive staff was second to none.
A friendly porter met us from our transfer coach with a bottle of water each and took our cases to reception. We were quickly checked in and shown to our room.
The room was a good size and was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay. The bed was probably the most comfortable that we have ever experienced in a hotel.
The food in both restaurants was superb and there was plenty of choice. Manolis and his team were friendly and attentive. Special mention to Maria, Rosa and Leonides at breakfast (who always remembered our drinks order) and Argiro and Costas at lunch.
The drinks at the bar were of a very good quality and a big thank you to the guys who brought our daytime drinks to our sunbeds on the beach when we ordered them via the app.
All in all we had a very peaceful and relaxing holiday, finished off with the nice touch of Katerina accompanying us to the pick up coach to say goodbye.
