TripAdvisor Review
High expectations, but falls down in a few areas.

We booked two weeks half board at the Anemos Luxury Grand Resort. We had high expectations and in some areas they were met, but I'm making a point of listing some of there areas where I think there could be improvement, these are not huge issues (apart from one problem we had with a lack of hot water), but hopefully more where the management might consider they could improve the resort).

Staff were friendly and informative on check-ing in with a welcome drink. Many of the guest relations and check in staff were friendly and helpful, unfortunately there were a few exceptions, a big shout out to the Canadian lady. sorry I've forgotten her name, on reception who was excellent in terms of customer service and information provided.

A hotel cart/buggy took us and our luggage to our double, garden view room which was very pleasant and spacious, but lacking in storage/drawers for a two week stay.
I'd also expect a five star hotel bathroom to have a separate shower and not an over bath shower. There were some minor maintenance faults in our bathroom when we got there and we were surprised hadn't been faulted and reported either before we checked in, or during our stay by the cleaning staff. (They weren't major issues but we wanted to see if they were picked up and dealt with, they weren't). Wifi in the bedrooms was poor and kept dropping out, but was excellent in public areas by the pool, bars etc. Restaurants were ok, the only specialist restaurant we would want to go back to was the Greek restaurant where the food and service was excellent. Trying to see the menu's of the other specialist restaurants was difficult, and you have to go to the guest relations desk to view this and book, (except the Asian restaurant as there menu was on display 24/7). There's an electronic board by check-in that displays the weather, but seems under utilised, this could scroll with the restaurant menus, opening times etc. Service in the bars and restaurants was generally good, bar staff in the main Aeolus bar were excellent although some of the charges, 8 euros for a small 'ish' milkshake at the pool bar, was extortionate. The mixed sex toilets by the Aeolus bar with frosted glass cubicle doors is not a good idea, and I'm sure I'm probably not the only person who didn't feel comfortable the first time I went in there and then avoided for the rest of my stay,

As the hotel isn't in easy walking distance of other bars and restaurants I'd expect a little more of the nightly entertainment. Unfortunately this consisted of kids entertainment every night, and then a group or singer or a specialist act, lets just say some were better than others !! There was a lack of atmosphere once the entertainment finished, which was usually around 2215hrs. I think a whole review of the entertainment programme is probably due!

We went to the gym a number of times, and whilst there's a good range of equipment, there gym area is very small and would benefit from being extended.

Our biggest issue was with the hot water in our room, we didn't have hot water from the day we checked in (Tuesday) until the Sunday. Unfortunately for the first few days maintenance staff thought they'd resolved it, only for us to find at shower time, they hadn't. It was sorted eventually after we'd got the manager involved, and they did offer to let us change rooms, but we were promised it was going to be sorted that day, so we stayed put rather than pack up and move all our belongings. As we said to the manager at the time, we appreciate that things can go wrong, it's how it's dealt with that counts, and for a few days, it wasn't dealt with particularly well. The hotel did attempt to apologise after the event, but their gesture felt hollow and in our opinion, didn't align with the severity of the problem.

In terms of good points, the bedrooms and public areas were spacious and clean. Cleanliness was excellent, with a large team of staff working every morning on the public areas around the pool and the room cleaners did an excellent job every day. There was always a choice of sun beds by the pool or beach, which was easily accessible by cart/buggy or by the under road tunnel.
Some of the staff worked extremely hard with a smile at all times. Food was varied and plentiful in the main buffet, but you definitely need the specialist restaurants to provide something different and a change of scenery, especially when there for two weeks.

We booked with the intention of relaxing for two weeks in the sun in pleasant conditions, which we definitely achieved, but for us, it's not a location or hotel that we'd return to.

Amazing hotel!

Our stay at Anemos Luxury Resort exceeded expectations. The food was excellent and varied, the accommodation spacious, spotless, and truly luxurious with modern amenities. The beach is wide, with plenty of space and enough sunbeds and umbrellas for everyone at any time of day. The pools are beautiful, perfectly maintained, and ideal for relaxing. The staff are friendly and professional. Overall, a fantastic holiday—we’d love to return. Jakub Zitko

Such a lovely hotel

We had high hopes before we arrived, as the reviews were exceptional. And they didn’t disappoint.

From the moment we arrived, we’re greeted individually and given a personal introduction to the resorts facilities, to the moment we left and were given a small gift, the service from everyone in the hotel was amazing.

The hotel itself was spotless, the food excellent, and drinks really good. There were a few niggles but nothing really to write home about.

Some specific shout outs. The beach bar and restaurant. Everyone there was so helpful, and the food and drinks were outstanding. We celebrated our 30th anniversary while there, and everyone was so kind, especially (and I know I’ll get this wrong!) Aiola (sorry #insert real name!). Such a relaxing environment, with stunning scenery.

The restaurants are all great to the point we realised we’d not had lunch at the main buffet until our 6th day - usually because we enjoyed the beach restaurant so much!

We had a double family room with a pool, and it was huge. Fantastic showers and very comfy beds. Very had a private pool before and that’s now a must for future bookings!

Our couple of issues: like most large hotels, you can book a table at their à la carte restaurants a few nights. They have seating times there, but if you book at 8:30, prepare to order everything straight away as the kitchens close at 9. Not a major issue but it can make it feel rushed. Also, there’s nowhere to eat after 10pm. Granted, you can eat all day, but sometimes, as you’re on holiday, it would be nice to get something late in the evening.

All in all, we wished we stayed longer! Thank you Anemos, you made a really special occasion completely memorable.
