Another wonderful holiday

Have just returned from our second trip to this lovely hotel. We had reservations when we knew the hotel had changed from Dreams to Hyatt as some of the recent reviews were a bit mixed but thankfully we had nothing to worry about. The hotel was as good as we remembered. The staff are outstanding across the board and the service is faultless. Some reviews said they couldn't book the a la carte restaurants but we managed to book four nights out of seven so maybe its just an issue with the app we booked through guest relations and had no issues .we were lucky enough this time to have a sea view bungalow and it was lovely, only issue I would say was storage, plenty of room in the wardrobe but no drawers which was a bit odd. The only other niggle would be the wasps! Not the hotels fault but they are relentless if you are eating outside not sure what can be done but it was a bit off putting and could potentially spoil the experience. Having said that we have booked to go back in September and can't wait.

Great hotel - some improvements needed to make excellent

Pros:

  • very stylish, minimalist theme carried through hotel & rooms
  • super attentive & friendly staff
  • very good food options in à la carte buffet - plenty of salads, fruit, meats etc
  • lots of sun loungers available even come 10:30/11:00
  • good and quiet air conditioning & ceiling fan combo in room
  • able to use app to log any maintenance / room service requests
  • great pool / beach proximity
  • very well priced shop inside hotel (sweets, crisps, chocolate, suncream, toys etc)
  • very big and clean pools

Cons:

  • restaurant booking is appalling. They advertise 7 restaurants yet we only ended up able to eat in one (à la carte) as we have a baby and we were not waking at midnight to book the others on the app. We were then told we could use staff to book restaurants but when we tried this, the ones we wanted were fully booked. This booking process needs to be reviewed.
  • NOT pram or wheelchair friendly. Lots of steps and very hilly. We had to carry our pram up multiple steps to get to our room.
  • hotel does not adhere to towel removal policy after 30 mins. We saw some people put towels down by 9am and they didn’t arrive until midday.
  • snack bar often very late opening with very limited snacks available. Some fruit, salads, basic sandwiches would be ideal.
  • no bath in the rooms (not ideal with babies or toddlers)

Hyatt Ziva Corfu - Excellent holiday destination

Visited Hyatt Ziva Hotel in Corfu for a week holiday in July 2026. Superb stay. The hotel was excellent. Excellent facilities, exceptionally clean and very attentive service. We arrived late but had dinner waiting for us in the dining room even though the dining room had closed for the evening and we're then given a free room upgrade when checking in. All meal food choices were varied and of excellent quality and service in the restaurant was excellent. Lovely to see Amalia still waiting in the restaurant following our last visit over 25 years ago, a friendly face and still working as hard as ever after all these years. We spent a lot of time on the beach which was clean, regularly maintained by the staff and usually very peaceful We really just go on holiday to relax and this was the ideal place to do that. . We were very happy with everything concerning our holiday.

Beautiful hotel but....

A beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Great facilities at the hotel and many restaurants and bars in the village, a short walk away. The staff are excellent and the food quality very good although its difficult to reserve the speciality restaurants. The only criticism is that there are far too many babies and children. It's promoted as a family and couples resort but if you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday, avoid this hotel. If only there were more adult only areas and adult only restaurants!!!

Hyatt Ziva Corfu (Dreams Resort)

We stayed as two adult couples for a week, during which the hotel actually changed its name from Dreams Corfu to Hyatt Ziva Corfu. We opted for the Preferred Club, which I would recommend. Our room (559) was spacious, modern and had an amazing view overlooking the Preferred Club pool and loungers. The air conditioning didn't work on the first night, but after reporting it to Reception it was fixed promptly. If you are up at around 6am, the sunrise is incredible over looking the sea. Lucky during our stay in the Preferred area there was no reserving of sunbeds at stilly hours. Generally got there around 9.30am and had the same spot all week. However, on the last morning, we could see the infinity pool area had loads of sunbeds reserved very early. A special mention has to go to Julie Ann, who looked after guests around the Preferred Club pool. She is an absolute credit to the hotel. Every day she served drinks directly to our sunbeds with a smile, despite working in the blazing heat. She was friendly, funny, and after just one day remembered exactly what we liked to drink. Service like that really makes a difference. The Preferred Club lounge itself was good, with a good selection of branded drinks that you could help yourself to. One guest described it as being like an airport lounge, which was quite accurate. Unfortunately, it was disappointing to see some guests abusing the system by stockpiling drinks from the fridge and even leaving with half-pints of Baileys. The main restaurant offered generally good quality food, very tasty although the layout felt a little odd and lacked any real flow. The dessert station was positioned right in the middle, meaning you had to dodge people, plates and children as you entered the restaurant. Excellent freshly made omelettes in the morning if you are prepared to wait whilst it is being cooked. We were fortunate enough to dine in all 3 à la carte restaurants, although we had to push quite hard at check-in (after having read how hard it was to book to secure reservations) Whilst checking in we tried to download the hotel app but never succeeded. The Italian restaurant was the only disappointment. We were given an 8:30pm table and immediately told the kitchen was closing once we sat down, so we had to order everything, including dessert, straight away. The service felt rushed, and unfortunately our main courses weren't very good, with an overpowering cinnamon flavour. Because the kitchen had already closed, there was no opportunity to change them. The Seafood restaurant was outstanding. The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and it was easily our favourite meal of the holiday. The Greek restaurant was also very good, the pork steak was enormous and probably would have been enough on its own without ordering starters! One thing worth noting is that none of the à la carte restaurants are air-conditioned. They rely on large fans, which help, but it can still be quite warm. The lunchtime beach snack bar could benefit from a wider choice of food. The staff worked incredibly hard but seemed under pressure, and tables often weren't cleared quickly enough. The Beach Bar has so much potential to become a fantastic spot for evening drinks before going back to the room to get ready. I know there is the other bar near the Seafood Restaurant that you could go to. But when still in your swimmers it would be nice to have this area sorted out with more comfortable seating, better furniture and additional umbrellas to create a more inviting atmosphere. Also worth mentioning is that the beach is man-made, with steps leading into the sea. We only watched the evening entertainment once, but it was lively, fun and well received. The hotel grounds were generally pleasant, although I felt some areas, particularly around the bungalows and Beach Bar, looked a little untidy and could do with more attention. That said, the staff throughout the hotel were friendly, hardworking and always willing to help. It's impossible not to admire how hard they work in such high temperatures. A few tips for future visitors: hire a convertible for a day and explore the island—Corfu has some stunning scenery and beautiful villages. Don't miss Old Corfu Town, where the architecture and atmosphere are incredible. A taxi from the hotel cost us around £30 for four adults, but if you walk outside the hotel grounds you can usually find one for 20–25 Euros. Or catch a bus which costs a few Euros. Overall, we had a very enjoyable holiday. There are a few areas where the hotel could improve, but the excellent staff, beautiful setting and relaxed atmosphere meant we had a great stay and would happily recommend it.
