Fabulous stay at a lovely hotel & really good staff

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming The cherry on the cake for me was definitely the tennis. I had lessons with Dorin, and he was fabulous. I would genuinely come back to this hotel, Dorin is a big reason why.

We arrived at the Luxme Costa Botanica around 2pm after a 90 transfer on a minibus with jet2. Lovely warm welcome accompanied by Lemonade. We were taken to our room (422) with our cases.

ROOM (422) First impressions very basic and not 4 plus standard as advertised in my honest opinion. Cleanliness in the room is shocking, floors quickly swept and wiped, bathroom the same. Dust around room is awful. Please see pictures for proof. Fridge was stocked with drinks which was a nice touch. Pillows flat, beds okay. Nothing about the room is what you would expect from this standard of hotel given its rating! Towels are small and definitely not standard bath towels. No bathrobes. Fridge refilled every three days according to receptionist. Iron and ironing board available from reception.

FOOD First night we went for food around 8pm and waited 20 minutes for a table. The hotel isn’t half full so can imagine this being much worse in the high season. The food itself was very disappointing again expected more from a hotel with such a high star rating. Food barely warm, not much variety. There were 4/5 deserts pretty much all the same IE Chocolate no traditional Greek desserts. Second night I expected different food only one dish was different from the night before and nothing for children except pizza. My son prefers to eat steaks/meat so didn’t affect us massively although again not much of this either only the gyros meat available outside in the bbq. No grill station. Croissants not available everyday, Best food we have found is the snack bar around the pool at dinner. Food being the same each night. No variety not many options available unless you want pork or chicken gyros each night.

DRINKS Had no issues with drinks. Cocktails very nice. Although again other nationalities get doubles served as standard unlike the English who get single measures.

STAFF Very polite, although they are very busy I do believe the resort needs more staff. Can be waiting at least 20minutes for a drink.

POOLS They are freezing however we do take on board we are mid October however they are like ice. Indoor pool is not available to children which is very disappointing when bad weather.

PARK This shouldn’t be called a park! There’s two swings and that’s it. Nothing else.

CLEANLINESS The grounds are lovely (I don’t think the marsh areas help with the mosquitos and wasps).

LOCATION Just a short walk out the hotel and turn right, you will find a few shops, bars and restaurants. I can personally recommend Adonis Sports bar and Maistro restaurant on the beach. Both amazing!

SPA €130 for a body massage and facial which is 95 minutes.

OVERALL VIEW This hotel isn’t a 4 plus standard hotel. I do not like how certain nationalities get extras (IE bags, served first around the pool) Flies and wasps are horrific and although not specifically the hotels doing, I do think the landscapes don’t help the situation. You cannot sit and eat a meal or relax around the pool with a drink due to the amount of wasps around. I do not normally post reviews until we arrive back or the very last day however with the level disappointment I feel it’s necessary to do so on only our third day. I’m unsure of the name too ‘LUXME’ I’ve not found anything to be luxurious.
